Walking with Chris Stewart and staying at Casa Ana, what could be better? How about adding a great group of people, delicious food, beautiful scenery, an amazing tour around Granada and the cherry on top -lunch at El Valero. This really was a magical week! Casa Ana is the perfect venue for a group trip. The family style dining room... More

Our second trip to the lovely Casa Anna in La Taha. This time in late October. Perfect weather for walking and Anna's is an ideal base. And another great meal with Wes. Colours and warmth are a delight. Recommended.

What a fabulous week. The walks were spectacular yet do-able. We were so impressed by the breakfasts, packed lunches and superb dinners provided by the local chefs. Anne is adept at organisation, bringing the best of everything to her guests, so we were able to relax and enjoy it all. I totally recommend this holiday.

I fell in love the idea of the Alpujarras when I read Gerald Brennan's South From Granada when I was very young. When I first visited it back in the 1970s there were dirt roads and it didnt seem to have changed much. 40 years on the roads are much better and there are more tourists and some expats but... More

My partner I joined three other guests, at the beginning of September, to be guided by Chris Stewart on a delightful week of walking in the Alpujarras http://www.casa-ana.com/courses_walking_holidays_with_chris_stewart.html . This was based at Casa Ana, where the hour and a half queues at Malaga passport control and Goldcar rentals were soon forgotten, in the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The next... More

We had a brilliant week of guided walks, including a trip to Granada, based at Casa Ana. Casa Ana was a peaceful haven tucked away in a quiet village in the mountains. Anne and her 'helpers' were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Our room was clean and comfortable with tea, coffee etc available in the guest lounge.... More

The mountain air, peace and tranquility at the B&B Casa Ana, was an experience we will not forget. The en-suite room was cool and restful. Breakfasts set you up for the days exploring the Pitres villages in the beautiful Alpujarra mountains. Evenings spent looking at the mountains from the terrace, with drinks and snacks, rewarded with a Golden Oriole posing... More

I was there for 2 nights and enjoyed every one second. From the moment you enter the property, you feel the total relaxation, with marvelous view to the mountain. It made me forget instantly the arduous bus trip from Granada (3 hours. TIP: If you can rent a car. Bus trip is never recommended) Never once did Anne, the owner,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa Ana is a historic village house in the mountainous Alpujarra region of Andalucia. Once a family home, with a wine press, olive store, barns and a goat shed, the property was lovingly restored between 2005 and 2013. It provides comfortable, quiet accommodation with 8 en suite bedrooms, dining room, sitting room, a Moorish courtyard garden and several south-facing terraces. The style is simple and traditional - chestnut roof beams and terracotta floors - but with modern comforts, including underfloor central heating in winter and rain showers. At Casa Ana we provide delicious breakfasts using local produce - fresh oranges from village growers, local honey, eggs, bread, hams and olive oil. Picnic lunches are also available. The house is located in the mountain village of Ferreirola (population around 28), near Pitres. The village has fantastic views of the Trevelez river gorge, and is a wonderful base to go walking, explore the Sierra Nevada National Park, visit the traditional white villages of the Alpujarra or take a day trip to Granada or the Mediterranean beaches. ... more   less
