We choose a room "with air con" because it’s advertised on Booking.com. I even specifically request to have an air con and the reply I got was that "all rooms have air con, it will be a pleasure to accommodate you!". Took a long taxi ride from Kuta beach to Sengigi and, surprise! I’m being told that there’s no air con in my room. When I asked if it was possible to have it, as advertised on the website and confirmed by a staff by email, the lady at the front desk told me I had to pay more (3x the original price). The lady at the front desk took my phone when I was showing her the details of my booking confirming I was meant to have air con, and she said "check on the photos of the room, it’s a fan, it’s a fan!" and she was dancing with my phone, making total fun of my friend and I. No one tried to accommodate us, and when I wrote to the manager (because she said no one is charge was at the property) they cancelled my booking - so we had to find somewhere else. Go to OYO 1929 instead, it’s 10mins walk from there, cheaper price and they DO have air con and the customer service is amazing!

The Buma Aditya is a hotel in the centre of Sengigi but 200 metres off the main road and next to a village and Mosque. The Hotel is on a hill and offers moderate size rooms with good but not excellent facilities. The gardens are well maintained, but the restaurant was damaged in the August 2018 earthquake and is currently not open. They do serve an excellent breakfast. Bearing in mind that this is a budget hotel, the overall value is excellent, made more so by genuinely friendly and helpful staff. Also, the local villagers are friendly and you rarely are bothered by anyone trying to sell you things. There is no traffic noise, so for the most part this is quiet accommodation, but there is a mosque very close by with a call to prayer every few hours and the occasional festival. This may be bothersome to some but I found it relaxing and the whole atmosphere a genuine cultural experience.

Avoid! The rooms are nothing like any of the photos. We were put in a dark and mouldy room with no windows. Holes in the wall. Looked like it had never been cleaned. We arrived and paid at reception for 2 nights, to then be taken to our room. No one else was staying there it seemed like a ghost town. There is a pool, no loungers like the photos. After 20 minutes we were looking for other places to stay. And after half an hour we left. They did not refund us the first night, but did for the second. Below is a photo of the door to our room...

4 of us booked thinking we were getting a nice room with air con and windows that is advertised on booking.com, got there to a room with a rubbish fan, door hanging off in the bathroom and windows that were just bits of wood that didn't entirely block the holes, with big enough gaps that a family of rats could crawl in if they wanted to. Decided we didn't want to be bitten to death over night so we asked to change rooms to the ones that are actually in the photos, being charged an extra 100,000 rupiah per night per room. These rooms were much better and were the ones advertised, however my friends had to change again because of mould and stains on the bedsheets. If the hotel advertised rubbish rooms and nice rooms we would have happily paid extra, but for it to be sprung upon us on arrival we feel was a scam, 100,000 each is enough for westerners to pay without blinking an eye, but a lot of money and a bonus to them. Also, the shower in one of the rooms wouldn't drain properly and left the bathroom stinking of stale urine. The night before we had to leave for the airport we were told they had booked us a taxi for the morning and would provide us a pack up breakfast, as we were leaving too early for the main breakfast. Got to reception at 6.30am to be told there was no taxi coming and we had no breakfast. The man then called someone to pick us up whose car was not big enough, leaving one friend in the back trying not to be crushed by 4 suitcases. The staff spoke quite good english so this was not a miscommunication. Although these were some of the cleanest/nicest rooms we had stayed in throughout our holiday (once we got to the nice rooms), all of us agree that we would definitely not stay again and we have all been left feeling disappointed on our last day in Indonesia.

We spent two nights in the Bumi Aditya and we were fairly satisfied. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. He had two rooms with AC near the restaurant and there is also a water cooler at the reception where you get fresh and cold water for free. The staff is also friendly and will help you with the planning of some activities near this place. There is also free wifi available at the reception and the restaurant. Lets come to some negative things. The breakfast was really, really paltry. It's possible to get some scrambled egg but you have to ask the guy from the restaurant (it's not note down anywhere). There is a buffet with tomato rice, toast, jam and butter. Fortunately there is a toaster which you can use (insider tip: go to the supermarket in senggigi and buy some fruits and stuff for breakfast ;-)). The pool wasn't very clean but okay for the price range of the hotel. !!! Be prepared to meet some local guests at this hotel which are throwing some party's in their own hotel rooms. We crashed a party of them at 3 o'clock in the morning because we get awakened of their loudness !!!

I stayed here for a few days due to the lovely view and a good room. Which was well equipped with a nice bathroom, hot water, good air con and fairly clean! However if you need anything like cleaning or new towels you will need to ask, as my breakfast was left outside my room for days! And the staff are not so bothered about creating a great atmosphere except the reception lady who was lovely!

The hotel advertises itself as a quiet hotel off the main road in Sengiggi but in fact it was even noisier than the main road due to the a mosque next door. The mosque broadcasts the call to prayer at the expected intervals (which we expected when we went to Lombok). But in addition to this, the mosque would broadcast hour long lectures throughout the day. The rooms were very average as was the hotel breakfast. On the plus side, all the staff were friendly and very helpful.

Stayed one night on our last day in Lombok. Pros: - Location was off the main stretch of Senggigi near to restaurants - Peaceful with a lot of greeneries - Room was clean and comfortable - Fair price Cons: - I'm not a fussy eater but the biggest negative for me was the breakfast. Fried rice and noodle served was very plain and bland, however my biggest peeve was that it was cold. It would have been such a simple solution to just light a candle under the serving tray to keep their food warm, which would have made the food significantly more palatable. You had to make your own coffee / tea, however I didn't see any creamer or milk. - Even though it's just off the main road, you had to walk in about 300 meters to get to the hotel through a narrow lane. Not a big drawback, but could be tricky if you wanted to go out and come back late at night. All in, adequate for one night's stay, and the atmosphere really is quite peaceful. However, will probably not return.

Good value for money as it is located a stone throw away from Senggigi main tourist belt. However... please note that the hotel do not provide shampoo, no cupboard or hangers, no table or chairs for your laptop among others. There's no wifi in the room where we stayed, 4 nights, except in the reception area or restaurant. Breakfast nothing to shout about... fried rice, fried noodle, hard boiled egg, bread with margarine & marmalade and orange juice. Good point is the rooms are relatively clean, spacious and request for towels are delivered swiftly. Toiletries, food, groceries and travel arrangement can be obtained by walking 5 minutes to the many convenience stores, restaurants and travel kiosks. Taxis easily available, all metered, just request reception to call.
