Derived from Sanskrit Language, means “heaven”, Svarga is uniquely designed as an exclusive resort like no-where. With its hilly contour, it provides a natural offbeat ambience combined with the richness of local cultures. Here, you’ll find a calming resort under the swaying coconut leaves, which is ideally located close to “Senggigi” as one of Lombok’s main tourism area. Explore the undeniable charms of Lombok island: with the smell of tropical breeze, white sandy beaches curved by the lush hills of Rinjani, and sowed by the lustrous colors of hand-made woven clothes. Svarga puts itself among those all.

We decided to head to Indonesia for our honeymoon and we spent time in one hotel before this and it was good and within same price range. We booked Svarga hotel (Varda deluxe double room) via Hotels.com because it seemed like a beautiful and clean hotel with good view where you have your own jacuzzi. However when we got there the staff was welcoming and helpful and carried our baggage up the extremely long and deep stairs into our room. There was an elevator but I assume it was broken as nobody used it and it looked sketchy. (So not for weak-legged people). When we first got into our room there was strong moldy odour and immediately i could see that the hotel had seen its best days many years ago. The "Jacuzzi" was empty and looked very dirty as it was not been used for years. When I asked about filling it up, a guy and a lady who helped to carry our baggage up told us just to call reception and they quickly went away as they would not like to answer any questions. Then we decided to check out the restaurant and it was pretty disgusting with few squeaky and dusty fans spinning in the ceiling. Also many of the ceiling lights were just hanging from their wires. Very young guy in the restaurant looked surprised when we walked in and asked if we could eat something, he was very polite and a bit shy. Restaurant did not seem quite hygienic.I asked if they have any hand sanitizer but the young guy looked confused and told we they do not have it but we could wash our hands in the swimming pool next to the restaurant. (Yes... he was totally serious:D) Still we ate lunch and food was ok, I actually liked it. Next weird problem occurred when i tried to pay for our food. The young guy in the restaurant did not know how to operate the card payment machine so i offered him cash, and they said they don't have change. When we came from lunch, some monkeys were staring at us from our roof. I think they would have stolen everything outside our room. After this we called Hotels.com and they were helpful and helped us to move to other hotel nearby. It took some time but it worked. Conclusion: I think Svarga has truly been a good hotel in the past but maybe covid time or something has caused it to decline a lot. It would be such a good hotel with proper maintaining and professional staff. All the hotel workers I met were helpful and polite but the reason for the bad state of the hotel is its management. Right now you cannot ask for 85€ per night at that hotel, 15€ might be correct.

At thrusday 18th of august, we had a snorkling trip arranged via the hotel. This trip cost us a lot of money, 1.6 million IDR ( around 110 euro’s) to be precise. During this trip our guide told us he would take videos with his GoPro and send them to us. After exchanging phonenumbers at the end he would send the videos to us. We contacted him several times and he reads and reply’s but he refuses to send the videos. He makes excuses as I don’t have time etc.. which is really sad as it does not take long to do this. For us these were great memories and we would like te video material he made and promised. We are not pleased with how this process had been done and in these circumstances we would not recommend the trip to other travelers! Send multiple mails to the hotel but they are ignoring the mail. They’re not willing to help! Make a lot off promises but never make them true.

Sent my family (mom, sister with her husband & 1 kid) for holidays & stay here. The elevator doesnt work, so my mom (70years old) should walk loooong long way to their room and caused her legs swollen because walk too long. Complained to them via instagram DM, slow responses and once they answered, they only said because that time the hotel was busy so the other rooms that doesnt need to walk too long was full. For sure not my problems and i dont care if it was busy or not, but at least they should and must find a solutions of how an elderly guest doesnt have to walk for too long to the room. But no answer again from them until now. They just read the messages. BAAADDD!! So for other guests who wants to bring your parents to the hotel, please please make sure if the elevator works Other than that, the room is OK

This review is from a German traveler in June 2022, two month after Indonesia opens borders after the covid pandemic. The things that need improvement: I stayed in two different rooms in the hotel. First in room 213, which was quite old and looked worn. I was in the hotel in 2018 also, and there its condition was much better. There is a urgent need for maintenance (mirrors broken, broken wall pieces, old toilt seat and most disgusting: a moldy mini bar). Please focus more on maintenance. My second room was 307, a Pool Villa, which was very great. Not comparable to the other room.i was very happy with the Pool Villa, however one morning they released the water for whatever reason I was never told. However I did not get any welcome drink. The good things: Spa is very very good and absolutely great value for money! Can highly recommend. Restaurant is absolutely GORGEOUS EXCELLENT and IMPRESSIVE. Absolutely friendly and helpful staff that definitely go the extra mile. Special thanks to chef Boum-Boum for his amazing warm welcome when he recognized that I was there already in 2018. Further thanks go to waiter Wilson and the great trainee Mustafa (he was very friendly, helpful and foresighted. Hope Svarga Resort will offer him a full-time employment after finishing trainee). The value for money is great in the restaurant and the nice view with the infinity pool and over the palms is nice). In sum: +++ Restaurant +++ Spa 0- Rooms (need more maintenance) I might come again if they renovate and maintain the rooms.

Stayed there for my honeymoon in a private pool room. The first night we had unwanted guest: Rat!!! And insects!! Its not tolerable for so called 4stars hotel. We made complains but the management had us wait for 1hr to get us another room. I was expecting formal apology from the manager on the next day but he didnt show up until we found him. He said to give us compensation to make our stay better but never received one until we left the hotel. Not worth for ur money. Dont ruin ur holiday mood

Dont stay here! I've been stayed in private pool rooms. The bathroom are aweful. So Dirty! and the toilet flush are broken. The pool water are dirty. They need so much improvement. Location in senggigi but not in the center so if you looking for online taxi / delivery food a bit difficult.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. The staff were incredible. They were extremely professional at all times. Some even had a cute sense of humor. I give the hotel 3 out of 5 because of the staff. The hotel itself is very rundown and is in desperate need of a make over. There was damp in the walls of our bathroom which created a terrible stench. Having a shower was therefore not a pleasurable experience. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed at in Indonesia and so we expected a certain level of luxury. Unfortunately we didn’t experience this, so it was a bit of a let down. Senggigi, the area is a real ghost town. It was surreal to experience being the ONLY tourist in a shop, market, supermarket or restaurant. I can tell you that it was a bit freaky. If you do visit Senggigi make sure that you plan tours, else you’ll be bored out of your mind. Bluebird taxis are super easy to find here. The breakfast was also not the greatest but it was palatable. I had the healthy breakfast which consisted of chopped up fruit with some cream, I think (it didn’t taste very good) with muesli and milk with either a pancake or waffle with banana or pineapple. The view from the restaurant was stunning. We could see Mt Agung clearly in the distance. My honest opinion, is to go to Kuta, Lombok instead of Senggigi. The first room we booked into was the Neima room. We were severely disappointed. We killed about 30 mosquitoes in the first 20 minutes of being there. They would’ve carried us away. It was truly awful. We asked for an upgrade. We paid an extra RP600 000 for a bigger room with a private pool. We felt a lot more comfortable (besides the bathroom with the damp in the walls)

The title says it all, spectacular. The room is very comfortable with an open air kitchen/living room and a sealed A/C bedroom. Pool is great with a second shower attached and a deck for sunbathing. Apart from the room, the facilities are basic. The food is ok, there is a spa. No alcohol is served. The lift is very slow and doesn’t always work so be prepared to tackle a lot of stairs if you want that view!
