Located in Bara beach it has a very nice garden close to the beach. Some of the rooms have limited sea view behind the trees and no direct access to the beach. The room we had (superior) was well decorated and had a private terrasse which we enjoyed. For the food our diners were quite well prepared, tasty and delicate...

I didn't stay at lodge however i did few dives with them. There're 2 good dive centres in Bira, Mangga lodge is one of them. Andre the DM took us to Goat Island & was awesome, lot of sharks. I did a shore dive with him & was good experience, he knows what his doing. I recommend the centre if...

The Lodge has a really nice setup - probably the best we've seen on our journey through sulawesi. With lots of green and a great architecture. The bungalows are a bit dark inside, but the outdoor-bathroom looks really great. The dive instructor and staff made a very professional impression. Just the price is quite high for Sulawesi.

Located on the beautiful Bara Beach near Bira, Mangga Lodge is the combination of a guesthouse and a dive center called ‘South Sulawesi Divers’. Both owned by Elvis from Germany. The guesthouse has several family and other rooms. The family rooms on the ground floor are rather poor and need maintenance, those on the first floor are much better. Breakfast...

We went diving with Mangga Lodge a few weeks ago and had a great experience. Elvis, the German owner, had been in Bira for more than 20 years and knows the dive sites backwards and forwards. On our first dive we went to Shark Point and saw two giant Devil Rays, a huge Marble Ray, a spotted eagle ray, white...

Mangga is not for everyone, and its charms take a while to reveal themselves. But first- stay at Bara, not Bira, if you want a real beach, and not the Jersey Shore. Bira is teeming with people and drinkstands and rubbish. Bara, much like many Indonesian beaches, does have some rubbish, but is far less crowded. At Bara you can...

Positive: The beach is lovely if you are able to look away from all the garbage. The place is at a pleasantly silcent distance from Bira. The neighbouring restaurant at Bara Beach Bungalows (BBB), only a few stairs up from the beach, has good food at half the price of Mangga Lodge. BBB also has ocean view, wifi, and top...

The nearby beach is quite nice but has lots of rubbish - cans, plastic bottles etc. The hotel is very expensive for what you get. The bathroom stank and the water in the shower didn't drain. Cheap aircon in the room didn't work very well - kept switching on and off. As for the food, it was tasteless and very...

I didn't stay here but I enjoyed few hours on its beach and I found a very lovely beach. Coconut tree, 3 colors sea and sands just like flour. I also tried their restaurants. Ice cream and pineapples pancake, kinda delicious
