Visited Horton to complete the 3 peaks challenge. Visited the crown several times for some beer & food. Landlords were lovely. Very friendly. Lovely clean pub with a nice coal fire. Food was delish. Home made pies are out of this world. Thouroughly recommended

What a dreadful shame. This place could be idyllic but it was shockingly poor. The wide variety of handwritten signs on the doors proclaiming that customers must not do this, that or the other (see photos) should have been warning enough, followed by the stony-faced bar maid who immediately ushered us into the other bar on account of our daughter...

The staff were very nice and friendly. Our rooms smelt clean and beds were comfortable. I personally did not use the bath in my ensuite as there was no shower head supplied only a plastic jug. I used my friends shower in the room next door and this was lovely and warm. Breakfast was perfect. I really liked the sausages....

Although its pub is the only one open in Horton in Ribblesdale, on a major walking route, when we walked in on a freezing cold January day we were told in no uncertain terms we were not welcome with our small border terrier. Not another soul in the pub! Not another soul likely to go in on a cold Tuesday....

The Crown is a walkers rest stop and local restaurant but caters to a captive audience. Not much to do but eat and drink even though it is overpriced. The food is wholesome and hearty but above what you're normally pay as there really is only one other place to go. It's clean, serves good beer and a welcome sight after...

I stayed here with some friends to complete the 3 Peaks challenge. I would recommend you don't use room 4 if you want to go to sleep before the bar closes and to stay asleep past 6am. As the rm is on the first landing and everyone has to go past your room repeatedly it seems. The bed liner was...

Clean, tidy & comfortable accomodation and good home cooked food in walkers portions made for another excellent visit to the Crown (and the Old Peculier was as good as ever). All together with a great Yorkshire welcome from the Millman family. If you are expecting the Ritz or "drizzles & jus'" with your food then this is not for you...

Stayed at the crown for 2 nights for my birthday whilst me and my partner walked the famous three peaks. Staff are so friendly and welcoming, the rooms are cosy and comfortable. The food is absolutely delicious and the location is perfect situated right outside the start to the walk up the mountains.

Finished our walk at 5.45 and headed for the hospitality of the local hostelry. My husband ordered a pint and all I wanted was a nice Yorkshire brew. Nothing hot said the bar man until 6.00pm, so I had a soft drink, then at 6.15 my husband went back to bar and asked for a tea, he was told no...
