This was our third time we had stopped and was just as good as our previous stays. The owners Pat and Roger are amazing and make you feel very welcome. This a great place to stay to reach local attractions such as Cheddar, Wells, Glastonbury and many other places in the south west. We will certainly return.

Lovely place and the hosts Pat and Roger couldn’t do enough for us. Lovely and clean in its own grounds. The breakfast was nicely presented and tasty. The villages of Axbridge and Cheddar are a short drive away for restaurants and shops and as its only 20 mins from Bristol airport we will definitely be booking here again.

My stay was extremely enjoyable. The welcome I received from Roger was very warm. He showed me to my room on the 2nd floor. It was very much in keeping with the period building. My room was very spacious and it had all you needed within it. I found the bed to be very comfortable so I slept well both nights I was there. Breakfast was very good. Cereal, fruit juice, toast and a full English along with a big pot of tea. Just what you want to start the day. Looking out of the windows in the breakfast room you had a wonderful view of Cheddar reservoir. I would gladly recommend the parsonage to everyone.

We recently here for 4 nights and it was a lovely experience. The hosts Pat and Roger were lovely and had lots of information on the surrounding area for places to eat and visit and had stories that were great to listen to. We would recommend this for a stay and the breakfasts were filling and more than enough great for short breaks and very local to Axbridge and Cheddar and can’t wait to stay again.

We were welcomed by the lovely pair that own the Parsonage. The views of the reservoir were spectacular and the gardens are stunning! Our room was sizeable and cosy and felt like staying at your grandparents’ place. The room and en-suite were spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Black out rooms so we slept very well :> The location is great, 10 minute walk from Axbridge and a half hour walk to Cheddar. The hosts were very knowledgable about the history of Axbridge, and there are historic homages on the walls. Breakfast was delicious and filling!

We stayed for 2 nights on our journey from Yorkshire to Cornwall. Warm welcome from Patricia and Roger, comfortable room and excellent breakfast. In a good location with good walk via The Strawberry Line into Cheddar or round Cheddar Reservoir. Downside - not easy to find, could do with a clear location sign at the bottom of the drive and with drive could do with some more gravel to reduce the potholes! Note payment by cash or cheque. Would stay again if in that locality

Good points Welcoming and very hospitable hosts Well presented house and grounds Comfortable beds Clean and very COVID safety aware Good full English breakfasts View to front of house is over lawns and away to cheddar reservoir Occasionally deer can be seen on the front lawns Great location and very quiet at night Tv, tea and coffee making facilities in room (serviced every day), hairdryer Individual front door key Good value for money Easy walking distance (approx 2.5 miles) along flat cycle path (The Strawberry Line) to cheddar and on to gorge. Easy evening walk (approx 3 miles) around cheddar reservoir. Easy walk into Axbridge for a pub meal. Not so good points No fire evacuation plan on back of bedroom door Wifi drops in and out of range in the top bedroom on second floor so much that I gave up (Manager Roger said they may need to consider installing extenders as the router is on first floor) No locks on bedroom doors Unmetalled stoney drive Drive entrance tricky to find I stayed in one of the two large second floor bedrooms. The view was into woods to the side of the house. Didn’t hear any noise from other residents in other top floor room other than when they were coming into and out of room. Likewise they also said they couldn’t hear me or the tv in my room. Despite the not so good points, I would certainly consider a return visit if I was to visit the area again.

Wow! The drive way up to the house is long, bumpy, but oh so impressive! Wonderful warm greeting by Roger who escorted us to the top of the house to the Peach Room. This B&B is like stepping back in time and you feel like you are staying in to a period drama - it will not be for everyone’s taste, but we loved it’s quirkiness. The view from the front of the house is wonderful, the Cheddar Reservoir glinting in the sunshine whilst sitting with a glass of wine and just the odd murmur of traffic in the distance was just the ticket! Roger went above and beyond to get us to a church for a family wedding, ‘the kindness of strangers’ - he’s an exceptional chap. Patricia was so helpful with our booking and very friendly. We would not hesitate to return, the location is ideal with so many places within easy reach. We even managed a late visit to Weston for some fish n chips! If you want to just switch off and re-charge, this is the place to be.

A delightful Georgian property set on the hillside above the Cheddar reservoir, with lovely views. Our room was clean and functional and breakfast, served in a lovely dining room, was tasty. The drive is uphill, and not in good condition, and the drive entrance not easy to find from the busy road. Worthwhile asking for detailed directions in advance. A quiet spot to stay, with lovely grounds. Good wifi.
