Friendly staff and cheap place to stay ok for one night. Room not very clean, shower barely had water coming through shower head, blocked apart from 3 holes. Squashed mosquitos all over the walls. Not much of a choice for breakfast, had one ok evening meal. Wifi worked on and off in the bar area, none in the rooms.

This is the worst hotel I've stayed in so far in Africa. It seems it was never repaired or maintained. Rooms and sheets are very dirty - I slept with the clothes. A very bad smell everywhere in the room and the lobby.

Thankfully only a one-night stop to break up the trip from Lalibela to Awash. The place was so miserable, from the room with the dirty rug, to no hot water in the bathroom, to broken lamps, and no tv, to loud music blasting in the lobby/dining room, to the smell of burnt food permeating the corridors upstairs before even making...

It looks quite nice hotel but turned to be quite OK. you can have free wifi but you have to go outside. Otherwise, signal is way too weak. There is annex building. You can catch the strongest wifi signal between the annex and main building, I guess. Luckily it wasn't freezing when I went to Ethiopia but it is not...

The concept of the hotel is good, spacious layout, nice garden, swimming pool. Staff is friendly, bed is good, linens and towels are clean and white. Restaurant is okay, although not all the items on the menu are available. However, when it comes to the finishing touch it was probably done by the village blacksmith. Electrical fittings come out of...

I was living in Kombolcha for two years from September 2013 until August 2015 working as a volunteer through a UK NGO called VSO. We used the Sunny Side swimming pool almost weekly. The pool is excellent with fresh water changed every 3 weeks using no chemicals (not so good on the environment). We never used the restaurant as the...

I've travelled all over Ethiopia and I've stayed in a bunch of hotels but I've just realised that this hotel might be the worst I've seen so far.... This hotel is about 6 years old that seems to be lacking in management. I feel sorry for the owner for his investment on this major failure. I mean if you're looking...

We have stayed here a number of times over the years as we drive from Mekelle to Addis and each time there are more things wrong. This time we stayed in room 109 and the door to the bathroom did not close, much less lock. The drain in the sink was clogged when we arrived, the water heater did not...

After three weeks of traveling through Northern Ethiopia we felt so safe and secure that one member of our small group of three paid very dearly for basic neglect of precautions: all her cash money was stolen from her backpack in her hotel room while we were dining in the hotel restaurant. Blackout can happen, but what has a power...
