Having spent a large amount of my childhood at Swaledale thanks to family holidays, I have the fortunate experience of spending many summers here. I decided to revisit around a decade later with my partner. It is still as perfect as one remembers during childhood. The hosts are utterly friendly and provide an excellent service - nothing is ever too...

Visiting a friend locally I stayed for five days in Swaledale Watch annex room. It was within in a good sized converted barn with the two rooms joined by a communal lounge area and small kitchen. The rooms were a good size with en-suite bath and shower with plenty of piping hot water. Good quality towels and linens and lots...

This guest house was booked by Contours travel company as the final night for my Cumbria Way walk. I was accompanied by four male friends, and we all arrived worn out and footsore. We had left a car at Swaledale Watch five days before, this was agreed by the owners and made our planning a lot easier, (thank you Nan)....

Everything totally lovely. Wonderful room and house. Delightful hosts, Nan collected us from the local pub as it was raining! Her husband took time to explain to us the effect of the recent rain on the footpaths. Charming and peaceful. Highly recommend staying here.

We spent our last night here on our journey along the Cumbria way. We were weary and wet when we arrived but Mrs Arnold sorted us out with newspaper to stuff in our boots, and showed us through to our room. The room itself was very spacious, and immaculate with lots of personal touches, and a very comfortable bed. The...

During a recent walk along the Cumbria Way trail, we spend our last night in Swaledale Watch, just outside the center of Caldbeck. The walk down through fields to the B&B is beautiful, and the B&B itself, lovingly created by Mr. and Mrs. Arnold about 33 years ago, is spacious and immaculate. The house and rooms are very much personally...

We spent 1 night here whilst walking the Cumbria Way. Although the B & B is about a mile outside of Caldbeck, the lovely hostess (Nan) will give you a lift to the Oddfellows Arms in the village. It is a very pleasant walk back. Our room was very comfortable with a four poster bed, and a Jacuzzi bath in...

“If you are in group where 2 rooms are required, ask for the stable annex. There are two rooms with an adjoining sitting room. This across the yard/carpark.”
