We stayed in Tranquility Lodge between our drive from the Catlins to Glenorchy. We could have pushed on, but this evening stay was memorable and I’m glad we took the time. It’s overnights like this where you get to meet Kiwis and live with a gorgeous view of the lake and mountains that make a vacation special. First, Peter &... More

Nice to be outside Q-town and the crowds there. This place was perfect! Incredible views. Incredibly clean and tidy. We were in the self-contained unit out back. Owners were very friendly and nice. The atmosphere is very quiet and tranquil. HIGHLY recommended!!

Tranquility Lodge is a must on your trip to the South Island! After a night at Glenorchy and a long and difficult hike on the Routeburn, my wife and I trekked down to Kingston to get a feel for the other side of the lake. We were very happy to see Peter & Margaret when we finally made it down... More

We had the pleasure of staying at Tranquillity Lodge for one night just after a big snow fall. Picture postcard perfect - full moon, wonderfully warm spa pool, glowing snow - just magical. Peter & Margaret have a beautiful home in a beautiful location and their hospitality is so warm and welcoming. Nicely appointed room and lovely underfloor heating in... More

We arrived tired from a long drive and were immediately offered a hot drink and homemade baking swiftly followed by a glass of wine, or was that two or three glasses! Margaret and Peter were warm and generous hosts and their home is beautiful. Our room was very comfortable and stylish, with an excellent, modern ensuite and wondeful views across... More

I don't normally write reviews, but the hospitality that Peter and Margaret extended to me more than deserves the effort. Able to accommodate some last minute requests, I was able to choose the seperate unit at the back of their house which allowed me the freedom to come and go as I wanted during the day without bothering them, even... We spent 3 days at this beautiful hidden treasure on our honeymoon. It literally felt like we'd woken up to a different postcard picture every morning. Pete and Margaret are the perfect hosts, wonderful company in a B&B that gives you vista views, plenty of activities and friends for life. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. OH... More

We booked for one night initially, then stayed for two. We then came back for more later in our holiday. The hospitality was superb - it was like staying with old friends. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts unbeatable, views incredible, company wonderful. If you are looking for beautiful and friendly New Zealand - stay here.

We had the unexpected pleasure of staying here on July 24th and 25th during a period of heavy snow that made that all roads were closed. It was a classical movie experience were you are snowed in in a small town with others that you haven't seen before and thanks to the great hospitality of Peter and Margaret it was... More
