We had the most amazing time staying at The elephant corridor
The hospitality was very personalised and warm
The food made my nimmi aunty was delicious and vijju uncle had some of the best stories to share about the elephants.

The estate is beautiful, the feeling of staying in between the coffee plantation is fabulous. Don't forget checkout the night sky.
We were lucky to hear the elephant's trumpet, wish we could spot one as well.

Ps: aunty you should definitely start ur line of home made preserves and coffee liquor.

Dear Guest Thank you for taking time off to say sweet things about us. To start my own line I am too small. I can't get bigger as I use my own produce n labour. Both are not easily available for consistency. Please do come again n we are happy we could give you a good time. It is our pleasure.

Elephant Corridor is a homestay that gives and gives. Under one roof, you can have several memorable experiences. Ours started on our way to the homestay when we set eyes on a tusker, who had not yet made up his mind on whether he wanted to cross the road or not. Lucky us! Less than a km from there, we spotted a Bison! On our second night at the homestay, we were stargazing on the front porch and saw at least four shooting stars. This is what I mean when I say ‘several memorable experiences.
The main house, where guests dine, is 150 years old. The history of the place, captured in photographs, adorns the walls. If you love old-timey, quirky, antique décor, you will lose yourself in the curated items this house is decorated with. What makes this place stand out is the hosts themselves – Viju and Nimmi Chengappa are hosts who only care about their guests having the best time ever. Be that through guided estate walks with Viju, learning about coffee growing, or in the many delicious traditional Coorg dishes and delectable multi-cuisine fare that Nimmi whips up, and sometimes, just sipping that cup of coffee with them, listening to their life adventures, and tales of the Kodava people.
There’s a lot of thought that’s gone into making sure guests have all the creature comforts they need. Comfy rooms, hammocks, great wi-fi, workstations, breakfast nooks, a woodfired pizza oven, a bonfire area, the cutest and friendliest dogs, ducks, and even a guinea fowl. The good times never stop at Elephant Corridor!

Elephant Corridor is a very calm, peaceful and feels amazing place to stay amidst all the greenery. It was an awesome stay with a delicious home cooked food, well maintained by Viju Chengapa and Nimi Chengapa. The owners Nimi and Viju promptly & quickly replied to our queries and updated the weather status regularly one week before trip.

These two amazing people made sure we had a great time there, also by serving home cooked elaborate breakfast and dinner according to our needs. Special thanks to Nimi, who involves in cooking these meals with the help of her team. I loved their Anchovies curry, Chicken curry and the Moong dal payasam. We had a taste of authentic coorg food along with few other cuisines.

The property was serene in between the forest; it was really soothing to our ears to wake up to birds chirping. Rooms were maintained very well and hygienic. We were number of 19 and stayed in two cottages which had cute elephant decors everywhere and the entrance had two hammocks where we clicked lots of pictures.

The place was alive with flowers of different varieties. They were in full bloom carrying their presence and vibrations to us.

On the whole if you are planning to visit Coorg with your family, friends or office team and looking for a home stay, I would definitely suggest Elephant Corridor.

This was our first visit to Coorg .We chose Elephant corridor as we wanted to live in a Heritage house.EC is more than 150 years old and beautifully restored and preserved by Nimmi and B.C Chengapa (viju). Our charming hosts looked after us really well and really went the extra mile .Their home is surrounded by forests and coffee plantations. It’s an ideal place for Bird watching and other wildlife.
Nimmi is an exceptionally good cook. The food is the best we have eaten during our travels across India in terms of variety, quality and quantity.Served with love and warmth,Nimmi ensures that the guests get a taste of authentic coorgi cuisine. From homemade marmalade’s to pandi curry every thing is delectable and organic.
Staying in Elephant corridor provides a wonderful opportunity to have an authentic coorg experience.Viju has a great gift of gab and is a storehouse of interesting anecdotes and tales. We really enjoyed their company.
We highly recommend Elephant corridor !!!

Viju & Nimmi are an excellent blend of warmth & hospitality. Within a short span of time, the entire family bonded with them and it was like a large family staying together in Coorg. Three generations of family enjoying Great Weather, Lovely & Innumerable Stories from Viju & Amazing Chef/Magician Nimmi cooking amazing food. This has been one of the best family vacations so far. Thank you Viju & Nimmi :-) Nana & Nani as well as Children just enjoyed the variety of offerings on the table.

We were at Kabini and suddenly decided to visit a friend's Homestay in Coorg. There couldn't have been a better decision. Being a strong proponent of local owned hospitality experiences, the Elephant Corridor truly takes the cake. The hosts Nimi and Viju ensure that you have an 100% authentic Coorg experience. Though, Viju Chengapa comes from the original Biddanda family, Nimi's cooking and talking is more Coorg than many others. She hails from Sri Lanka!!! Infact by the time you decide to leave, you wonder, is there anything this multi skilled lady can't do? Run the homestay, prepare absolutely delicious dinners and breakfasts, make awesome jams n pickles, give life to all that we think is a waste, feed four wonderful canines, look after the coffee plantation, watch spectacular birds... the list is endless. You really need to visit the Elephant Corridor to enjoy the wilds of Coorg. I am coming back for a longer stay.

It takes a special kind of people who leave behind singular warm memories with you.
The folks at Elephant corridor are those people. All hats off to Nimmi aunty and Viju uncle to have created not only a wonderful homestay but an experience that you will carry with you for the rest of your life.
The estate is beautiful, only augmented by Viju Uncle's wonderful and quirky stories! The food is to die for ( seriously, I would have Nimmi aunty's cooking as my last meal) and the estate is filled with little artistic Easter eggs that delight the introverted observer.

I cannot recommend this place enough and I am almost tempted not one about this place to so can have to all to myself!
Jokes Aside, do yourself a favor and visit the elephant corridor!
I am considering their work from home package the next time I visit.

Nestled amongst coffee plantations and pepper vines, this lovely home stay will warm the cockles of your heart. It is in every possible way “PERFECT”. The hosts Viju Uncle, Nimmi Aunty and their dogs Pepper( our favourite!) Ego and Zoya are absolutely wonderful! You can spend your days wandering aimlessly around the plantation or just sit and chill with a good book. There is something in it for EVERYONE. As night comes around, keep your tummies empty for the most wonderful dinner spread which Nimmi Aunty makes. It would not be amiss to say there is magic in her hands. Her “Pandi Curry” is something no one should miss! You’ll spend days dreaming of the taste after your vacation. I know I still do. All in all they are a seven star people in a five star world and we will be barging in again and again!

We're just back after a wonderful three days stay at "Elephant Corridor." Viju and Nimmi are a perfect blend of warmth and hospitality.

Viju has a million stories to tell in his own unique way and has a knack of making every guest feel at home. Nimmi! She's the most versatile cook and turned out a variety of dishes at each meal. From Coorgi to Shrilankan cuisine - each dinner was a treat. Her home made jams and pickles need special mention.

We were happy to have spent New Year's Eve with them. With a bonfire, a laden table and the grand finale of a flambeed Christmas Pudding!

If you're looking for a good, clean homely place to get away for a couple of days - pick Elephant Corridor. You'll enjoy it!
