Had wanted to experience feather down for a while and this looked perfect. We normally camp in the lake district so a bonus of not having to drive so far and a tent with extras!!! You are given plenty of warnings that this is a working farm and all the extras you may need. Tents are spacious well spaced apart...

We have always wanted to do a featherdown farm so imagine my surprise when we were researching campsites for the bank holiday weekend and a nearby featherdown came up - it also worked out cheaper to do 4 nights than 3 presumably because it was the bank holiday. Result! Now - don't go in expecting a Center Parcs style corporate...

We visited for a short break, staying in the frills plus with hot tub. Lovely location, our son loved the play barn and little kitten. Shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. Supermarket is 15 mins up the round and a lovely pub just 5 mins away. Tents are well equipped (take bright battery powered lamps - it gets really...

Just returned from Dolphinholme Farm after a very enjoyable 5 days. Too much to write but highlights included; very friendly and helpful hosts, maje your own pizza nights a must do, very dog friendly with plenty of roaming space and sensibly enforced control policy, beautiful countryside setting, well and diversely stocked honesty shop, Everything you could possibly need to get...

Just spent a couple of days at feather down dolphinholme. The rain did not deter the spirits of my little adventurers age 10 & 3. Despite the rain, we still managed to get out and about and spent lots of time together doing things that we never seem to get chance to do at home due to countless distractions. Barbara...

If you look at the website you will see all you need. You won't see many animals out and about in the field but you will see large open plan sheds full of assorted goats. You need to be sure to go on the introductory tour around the farm. This will help you understand the reasons behind the set up...

Fabulous escape! My wife and I have just returned from 2 nights stay here. Beautiful site with a goat farm, river you can swim in and peaceful countryside all around. Kids can have a great time here just exploring and playing. Freshly laid eggs that you can pick yourself every morning! Lovely shop that has all the basics covered. The...

We have just returned from a lovely family week away. The tent was very roomy and extremely well equipped. The farm itself has a beautiful setting and all of the people who works there were extremely friendly especially with the children. Booking again!

This was our first experience of Featherdown Farms and the venue was chosen somewhat at random but worked very well for us. The site is a working goat dairy with a few sheep and a horse, the tents set around a meadow with the River Wyre at the bottom. We had the regular (ie: not 'frills') tent and it worked...

location was great with added amenities of the kids playbarn and the river plus the zip slide in the forest. we went on a couple of family bike rides too and the surroundings were beautiful ( a few hiils though!!) Tent was identical to our previous stay with Featherdown and enough room for 4 adults and 2 kids. Cooking outdoors...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The best loved family glamping holidays Enjoy the countryside at some of the most gorgeous farm and country estate locations around the UK. During your stay you will (besides enjoying yourself) be able to take a peek into the world of farming. Feather Down Farms are only located on working farms. Our farms have a limited number of tents and many are placed in roaming countryside, some are even situated within areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Feather Down Farm Days' tents are very spacious and comfortable with an authentic decor that recalls the honest rural life of days gone by. Enjoy the ambiance of the candles, oil lamps and the long nights around the wood-burning stove. Forget the time... Feather Down is intended for anyone who is looking for quality time together far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. ... more   less
