I visited with my wife to celebrate her 40th. I had a good start with the service when I called up after booking to get some advice on local restaurants. Lisa (I think) was very helpful and helped me settle on Pebble beach restaurant which was an excellent recommendation. The restaurant was very clean and we had a large room...

Lovely setting, but I was really upset to be charged £13. for ONE SLICE of cake and a pot of tea for three people. Very disappointed because I had taken my 2 elderly cousins there as it is such a beautiful place, and I rather wanted to "show off". I'd been for lunch with other friends several times in the...

We went to Burley Manor for a last minute night away and we were not let down. It's a beautiful venue and we got a good look at the deer which was lovely. The reception and bar staff were brilliant and very accommodating. Our room didn't have the best view but it didn't matter. Breakfast was excellently cooked, I would...

Went here for afternoon tea with my aunt, mother and daughter had a lovely afternoon tea. The setting was peaceful looking out over the grounds and the deer. The tea itself looked fantastic, the scones were so light and fluffy and the cakes were superb. The staff were attentive and helpful and the decor of the lounge was beautiful. Would...

Stayed here for one night last weekend, this hotel is in such a beautiful location, the room (garden suite) was spacious and the bed supremely comfortable ! The staff were friendly and we are planning to go back here later in the year for a longer stay. The only reason I cannot give 5/5 is that when we arrived the...

I took my parents who both have limited mobility for a 2 day break at Burley Manor. I booked an accessible garden suite for them and a nearby garden suite for myself. The rooms were excellent - well furnished, clean and very spacious. The food was brilliant, from the home-made cookies in the rooms to the inventive and generous breakfast...

We spent 5 days in March, when the daffodils were blooming and you could feel the spring ! The dears sanctuary opposite the hotel made it feel magic . The rooms are nicely refurbished with a very nice "mélange" of old and new . The service was very helpful and the food was very tasty with a wide variety ....

Superbly refurbished and they got the tone just right. The restaurant is casual fine dining, but this is probably the best description for the whole place. Smart, relaxed and informal but with really great service. And ultimately, that's what it's about, if you're going to de-formalise, go up a notch on the service and that's what they have done. We...

Lovely building and location - the room was comfy and cosy. Breakfast staff lacked warmth and were hopelessly inefficient. I had to remind them twice I had ordered a cup of tea and my colleague never did see his breakfast. They must have forgotten him. A smile would have helped - the lady was particularly sour faced. Also worth mentioning...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Burley Manor offers something truly unique, with spectacular views of the neighbouring deer sanctuary, it really is set in the heart of the New Forest. Recently fully refurbished it is somewhere you can come to enjoy a tranquil, grown-ups only stay (13 + only), stunning food with Mediterranean influences and most importantly great service. Our individually designed boutique bedrooms are made to feel like home. A sanctuary. Strong, nature inspired colours, antique furniture, eccentric artwork and fascinating fabrics. Power showers, deep baths and warm panelling create a relaxing tone. You can enjoy the perfect night's sleep in our royally approved Hypnos beds, providing pure comfort and relaxation. Our chef's follow the seasons, allowing nature to play a leading role in our menu. It's about a handful of the best ingredients, sourced well, prepared simply, with the help of our wood fired oven, to make the most of their flavours. In the picturesque village of Burley, that is just 10 minutes off the A31 to Bournemouth, you will find this village that is untouched by time, where wild ponies and cattle roam free. With miles of ancient walking paths, there's lots to explore. ... more   less
