Worth the long trip “We book for 3 nights in water villa and 2 nights on a Pool view villa. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a nice place in Matabungkay (as I always had a prejudice against the place, though it was my first time there). Though I had a pleasant stay, I’ll still give my positives and negatives views. On the Positive side: The property has 3 pools and seashore beach. I didn't swim, but the pools looked clean and the whole environment was inviting. My whole family enjoyed it. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices. All the staff were very nice and friendly so you’ll feel at home. The grounds were spacious enough to accommodate a lot of people without feeling cramped. Beach area was clean and the water was warm because it was shallow-- it was up to my knee approximately 15 meters from the shore.” The Negative side: My complain only is about the WiFi. The signal is not that strong and intermittent and totally no wifi signal in the water villa. Hope they could find a way to fix this issue because this is one of the important things to look for on a hotel. Overall: Matabungkay Beach Hotel comes highly recommended. If anyone from the staff is reading this, thank you so very much.

We stayed here with for 2 days 1 night and we enjoyed the place as this is our first "beach staycation" together. I was not able to take a picture of our room but we stayed in Octagon Villa (Sea View), it was a good stay but there are issues / problem that we encountered going and staying on this hotel. - We arrived 2 hours late and it was hard to contact them, tried to call them on their mobile number / phone number so I can advise them that we will arrive late and to ask how we can go there from Nasugbu, but was not able to call them (either no one answered/unattended/out of coverage). - They have WiFi but was not able to connect to the internet (no internet connection/really slow network connection) so we have to use our data connection instead. Though I'm just not sure if they are just having a network connectivity that time. We don't have a car when we go here and this is our first time travelling to Matabungkay so we have to check on internet. (We took a bus from PITX to Nasugbu (Waltermart) and tricycle from Waltermart to the hotel. They said there are jeep on the area but not really sure). Overall, the staff are nice and friendly and they offer different water activities.

We went there for a day trip on the Maundy Thursday holiday. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a nice place in Matabungkay (as I always had a prejudice against the place, though it was my first time there). The staff were nice and friendly from the gate guard to the people inside. The grounds were spacious enough to accommodate a lot of people without feeling cramped. Day trip rate is reasonable at 500 pesos per head. Clean restrooms and shower areas (!!!!!!) 🙃 The food we ate was okay but I expected more (taste and appearance 😅) Beach area was clean and the water was warm because it was shallow-- it was up to my knee approximately 15 meters from the shore.

After 2 hours looking for hotel to stay for a night finally we are here. Most staffs are polite, helpful and kind. From the main entrance security, to the reception, bellman up to the restaurant waitress👍👍 The room we had Sunset E were out-dated and worn out. I guess 6,200 pesos is not worthy? 🤷🏻‍♀️ There was no welcome fruit, no welcome drink when you arrived while checking-in, no slippers inside the room but in total it was clean. We can say the food are very tasty as we had our dinner in Cogon Bar and Restaurant. 😋 Also, we have personal space for our car to park near our place, which was great! The recreational amenities such as giant chess, swimming pools and beachfront huts are wonderful. We indeed enjoyed playing chess. ♟️♟️✔️💯 We did not swim on the beach but we end up picking trashes along the shore. Although we saw plenty of trash bins in between of huts and open air tambayan. 😬 However, we had a good stay. 🙂 Tim and Gladys 👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏼

I recently spent two nights in this place and I'll give you both positives and negatives: On the Positive side: The property has 3 pools and seashore beach. I didn't swim, but the pools looked clean and the whole environment was inviting. The morning breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices. The Negatives: No hot water. I complained about this, and they sent a maintenance guy. He ran the water about 30 minutes and it eventually got warm but never hot. No offer to change my room to one closer to the hot water heater. Internet wifi in the room was extremely weak signal and almost useless. I complained about this and they said that they would send me a wifi extender. It never came. I called the front desk two more times about it and was promised that they would send it, but it never came. There is no safe in the room and the lock on the door is the old fashioned key lock, not the typical electronic lock you normally find in hotels. And even that lock just feels cheap. Of course on check in they informed me that they are not responsible for anything stolen out of the room. The room was old and generally in poor repair. One of the sliding glass doors to the shower was completely missing. Badly corroded shower fixtures. Some stains and bad paint.

MBH is a remarkably attractive facility: large rooms with updated shower/bath; multiple swimming pools and recreation areas; soft sand beach; friendly, helpful staff aside from the restaurant. All facilities are well maintained and fully cleaned. Check-in and check-out was smooth and flawless. Security is unobtrusive but more than adequate to insure guest safety. Unfortunately, food service is a serious problem. Like many resorts, MBH prohibits outside food but that restriction is more troubling here than at other resorts. In the restaurant, poorly trained wait staff members seem to wander around a good deal and do whatever they can to avoid serving customers. Just getting coffee is a 20+ minute ordeal while the food is bland and tasteless . . . the worst of Filipino cuisine. The menu lists other options (pizza for example), but they are generally "unavailable." And you can expect to pay 30% to 50% more than comparable dishes cost elsewhere. We had considered extending our stay, but after two days we were so displeased by the food service that we elected to go elsewhere and we will not return.

A true gem in the beaches of Batangas. Very relaxing atmosphere, lovely and extremely accomodating staff, and delicious food! The whole resort is very secure, while taking health protocols seriously, and I felt safe the entire time I was there. I stayed at the Sunset Studio villa and the room was clean, modern, comfortable and quiet. The best part was I could step out, look right and see the beachfront right there in all its soothing, majestic quality.... Already looking forward to coming back. Matabungkay Beach Hotel comes highly, highly recommended. If anyone from the staff is reading this, thank you so very much.

Summer is here but COVID has not yet left our shores, what better way to get your dose of Vitamin Sea and Vitamin D with an extra serving of cold and sweet halo-halo but a visit to Matabungkay Beach Hotel restaurant. The food in the restaurant is worth every peso and the hotel disinfects regularly so you are sure to be safe. More so the design of national artist, Leandro Locsin embraces the natural elements - well-ventilated and naturally lit, thus making the space COVID-19 safety compliant. The management follows the IATF and DOT policies. It is a gem of a place that we should treasure and support. Cannot wait to come back for more. The staff are also friendly and very accommodating to 🚴‍♀️ 🚴‍♂️ cyclists. Unli-water.😀 Best kare-kare too!! 😋
