We stayed here for four nights after booking with Expedia. We had requested a room in a quiet location, we were given room 11 which we found out on departure is their bridal suite, which was very apt as we were staying to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds, and the weather was very...

The décor is somewhat tired and dated which is a shame for such a lovely hotel. That aside, we had a lovely one night stay in a room with a four poster bed. My alarm bells started ringing again when we went down to dinner. We were advised this was a very popular restaurant and to be sure to book...

A 2 night stay to enable a visit to the Theatre in nearby Canterbury. With the original building dating back to the 12th century and it's location in 'The Garden of England' adjacent to historical Canterbury (Cathedral and Chaucer) - the hotel is a must for those who like old. Our room (#2) was charming , with a reputation for...

Outstanding place for a wedding. We got married here on 24/04/2015 and from our very first visit right up until we left everything was perfect. Staff were great especially Hayley & Remi who became our unofficial wedding photographer. All the staff did an amazing job right throughout the day. We left the table & entrance decorating upto Hayley and was...

Wonderful historical building that claims links dating back over 1000 years! The bedroom was comfortable and clean with lovely view of the garden and lake beyond. The restaurant menu was quite small but the food was really of a high standard and highly recommended. Staff were attentive and helpful at all times. Some lovely walks alongside the River Stour just...

Me and my partner stayed for 2 nights, the hotel is pretty and set in lovely picturesque grounds. The room is clean and spacious, but had a slight damp problem and alas the room smelt dampish when we first entered. The breakfast is tasty and you can tell they use quality ingredients. The staff are friendly, especially Andrei and Eva...

My daughter recently held a surprise get together for friends & family for my 60th birthday here, and what a wonderful evening! Everybody remarked on how lovely everything was and we were certainly well looked after. The food, the staff and the rooms were all perfect, and I loved the wonderful old building. In the morning breakfast was served in...

We stayed 3 days over Valentines Day February 2015. It is a friendly hotel comprising the old 12th Century building (where the plumbing requires improvement) and a new wing. Rooms well equipped and comfortable. Situated 2 miles out of Canterbury and convenient for the Park and Rise at Wincheap. We eat one meal in the Restaurant and it was good.

I could go on about this hotel but I won’t what I will do is summarise the best I can and be as fair as I can. The hotel is situated on the A28 about 10 – 15 minutes’ drive from Canterbury. The oldest part of the building dates back to the 12th century as such some areas of the...

Dear Guest I have had now had chance to look at both of your reviews and in particular the one above and evaluate my response. The building, originally, the dairy for Canterbury Cathedral, does in fact back date back to 12th Century. However, the low beams in the restaurant only date back to 16th Century when the original chapel under...

We arrived on Friday 6 February 2015 and was treated amazingly from that moment until we left on Sunday 8 February. We booked into their restaurant on Friday and had an truly fabulous meal. Shame we didn't book again for Saturday night as the meal we had out was nothing compared to Friday's, Charlotte went the extra mile to make...
