This lodge is located in a remote area of Kent. This results in a very tranquil location. Despite it’s remoteness it is a relatively short drive into Canterbury. There are, however, a couple of great pubs in the area. One is a short drive away and the other is a five minute walk away from the lodge. The lodge itself was very nice. Tastefully decorated with a 1950’s style fridge which I really liked. The bed was comfortable. There are lights and light switches everywhere. Sadly this brings me on to a negative aspect of our stay. On the fourth night the lights on the outside of our lodge stopped working. On the sixth night they started working again. I have no idea what was going on. On the plus side the lights in the main living area of the lodge could be dimmed. Each lodge has a dedicated parking space which is big enough for two medium sized cars or one large car. There is free WiFi. This retreat is dog friendly. Aside from the external lights snafu this is an excellent retreat to spend some quality time relaxing in.…
Such a fantastic welcome from an knowledgeable, friendly, staff team who bent over backwards to ensure we had a great stay. The lodge presentation is luxurious with great attention to detail. The staff team left a few xmas treats ( yummy) . The lodge is spotless with a large veranda overlooking the woods.offering peace and tranquility. The Bath is heaven and if you're brave enough you can open the window to have that inside outside effect. Given I was planning an Xmas trip to Tenerife I'm soo Glad I choose the lodge. Go visit canterbury and enjoy cobbled lined streets mixed with small and large buisness. If you're a walker the lodge is perfect with features for hiking gear. If ypute looking for a break with all the trimings look no further. A massive Thank You to the staff team. You're Absolutely Awesome .…
We stayed here for a weekend break at the end of November. We had booked the Finsbury lodge and it was amazing. The lodge was not overlooked and it was super clean and luxurious. The bed was comfy and lodge so spacious for a couple. Beautiful bathroom facility a large. Bath and separate shower room. All equipment supplied so did not want for anything. We did walk to the local pub for a drink , but everything was a few minutes drive, and we loved going to all the Christmas markets that were on in the area. So pleased we chose a lodge over a hotel as we felt totally chilled and did not want to leave. We will definitely be back next year, as lodge and park fabulous along with the reception staff. We have so much more to explore in the area! Thank you for a brilliant stay
Had 5 days in a 2 bedroom lodge and have to say it was fantastic. The lodge was stunning very clean and very warm. Struggled for places to eat nearby as most were closed Mondays and Tuesdays but found and amazing Indian on just eat that delivered Would highly recommend for a lovely break with a visit to Howletts worth the money
Couple with dog for a week’s holiday. We really liked all the little touches (from shower gel to iron and ironing board, the starter provisions in the kitchen - tea, coffee, washing up liquid, tea towel and bin bags, great to have bedding and towels, too). It’s a very quiet location, handy to explore most of Kent. You’re half an hour away from Whitstable, Herne Bay, Margate or Ashford, Canterbury on your doorstep. The lodge was clean, the kitchen well equipped. We really liked the backlit fire place and felt very comfortable. This was our first time there and we will definitely be back. My only negative comment would be that the kitchen bin was broken.
We had a week at Canterbury Reach Lodge and everything was great! The Lodge was very comfortable and clean , especially the bed which was really comfortable, I wanted to take it home!!😀 The Eden Lodge was just right size for a couple and the problem we had was the TV didn't work in the bedroom but it was sorted straight away within 5 mins actually..,The staff were very friendly and helpful! The retreat I would say is more for couples as there isn't much to do on the site for younger children and teenagers would probably find it boring! The only problem was at the end of the 7 nights I didn't want to go home 😒 Back to work and the rat race 😅 I would love to return and most possible will do in the furture , any excuse to see family more who live in Kent lolx
Just come home from a 4 night break as we couldn't go on our usual break in June due to an accident. Our second stay at a Darwin Escapes resort, we knew there was nothing on site but it didn't matter. It was wonderfully quiet, even with a few dogs being around thanks to responsible owners. Cranbrook Lodge no 11 was stunning, so spacious and comfortable. Beds really comfortable. Really liked the double ensuite and walk in wardrobe. Wifi was really hit and miss unfortunately but managed. Staff were great. Check in was simple and Shane fixed our patio door within minutes of reporting a problem. No pubs or shops local but we bring stuff with us and have main meals while out and about. Didn't realise just eat and deliveroo delivered to the door! Only noticed when neighbours had food delivered to the door but one to bear in mind for our next visit....we will be back. We visited Canterbury- highly recommend using the park and ride! Walmer castle was great to visit and the Battle of britain museum and Battle of Britain memorial are definitely worth a visit. Plenty of other places to visit next time. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐…
We have just come back from a 4 day break. We love coming here, the staff go above and beyond. We are already booked for next year, its our come to place for some R & R. Very dog friendly and not that far to the coast. We always pop to the Granville pub which is a 10 min drive.. Lovely food. Just eat and deliveroo also deliver 😁 Thank you once again Canterbury Reach Lodge Retreat for your hospitality xxx
We visited here for a four night break , the lodge itself was lovely although lacks storage facilities for clothing . What spoilt it for us was the fact there's absolutely nothing local , no pub no shop . If you like quiet and nothing to do then it suit u but for us it was way to quiet . Unfortunately due to this I do t think I return anytime soon.
On pulling onto the site and seeing our lodge it looked very nice but not much different to anything we’ve stayed in before …….. but when we opened the door WOW !! This has to be the best lodge we’ve ever stayed in !! Very clean but oh my how spacious the main bedroom not only en-suite but also a dressing room !! The living area massive tasteful furnish the balcony area private nestled in the trees , well equipped kitchen , lovely fluffy towels courtesy tea and coffee box , washing up liquid and cloths ! I could go on and on . We only used the lodge as a base for everything we wanted to visit in Kent but I / we could have happily stayed in that lodge for a week . Definitely would give this lodge a 10 out of 10
