We stayed at the Chequers Inn for 2 nights whilst cycling in North Yorkshire. Booked a twin room facing the car park. Absolutely superb. Couldn't ask for more especially for the price. Room was clean and the shower...wow, awesome after a long bike ride. Main man couldn't be more helpful and the rest of the staff were great. We'll be...

We stayed here for one night in March as we wanted a night in Harrogate, the room was dark and dingy and the bathroom was dirty, it was obvious that the bath and toilet hadn't been cleaned as there was still hairs on both, the duvet also had stains on so we had to sleep with just a sheet, would...

Stayed for one night in room 6 which was a little dated but had all the amenities needed for a short stay. Twin beds were comfy and clean, the bathroom had plenty of hot water and was also clean with soap and shampoo supplied. The room also contained Yorkshire tea, coffee, cookies and a bottle of water plus it also...

Just stayed the one night, lovely warm room on a cold and windy night, the restaurant and food were excellent as was the breakfast, The only very slight down was the bar shut early i.e. we arrived at 2pm took bags to room returned to find bar had closed until 6-30. A group of 16 of us had booked to eat and stay on NYE as we had never stayed here before we weren't sure what to expect. We were all pleasantly surprised. We were so well looked after, the food was delicious and the rooms were lovely and clean.

Excellent food as always, but that's just it! It was just the same as always, no attempt at making it a Christmas dinner what so ever. As I say, the food I had was very nice, but no different to any other time. Christmas dinner is supposed to be special, that wasn't, nor were the sweets. Management and staff need...

Stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed it greatly. The room was off an external corridor on the ground floor and was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was immaculate and whilst the water did take a while to warm up, it was plentiful. Fabulous carvery in the restaurant and the staff couldn't do enough to help. All in all,...

Arrived Sunday lunchtime - dripping wet after a 5 mile walk - and greeted by a lovely lady in the bar who immediately took away our we things and put them near a heater to dry out. My friend and I had the £12.95 (starter and main course) carvery lunch and it was excellent. Piping hot soup to warm us...
