We have just returned from a Travelzoo deal at this wonderful hotel. The decor is beautiful, the food delicious and the staff really helpful. The setting is rural but near a wide variety of places to visit e.g. York, Castle Howard, Eden Camp and the East Coast. Hope to go again soon as it's the perfect hotel for a break at any...

Had two nights here on DBB ,and all I can say that it was excellent in every aspect of delivery. The lovely room was bright and clean ,and the bathroom was very inviting and moden. A young member of staff needs a special mention for being such a warm friendly helpful member of staff. That person was Lucy, well done Lucy for...

This was our first visit here and we absolutely loved it. The room was beautiful and the lounge area and restaurant were stunning. We had an excellent meal, served by really friendly staff, and had a couple of lovely days out in the area as well. Can't fault it at all (apart from not getting to see the famous owner)....

We stayed here mid-February on a late room booking to celebrate Valentine's Day (a weekend late!) I really wanted a country house hotel in the Wolds as I love this area and it didn't disappoint in the slightest. The hotel is beautiful, we were in the 'smallest' type of room which was pretty much the size of a regular hotel...

Beautiful building. Room was lovely even though it was a small double.Happy with the facilities in the room and lovely bathroom.Shame I wasn't told that the pool was out of action at time of booking as I wouldn't of booked. There were silly things such as we had two single duvets as they didn't have any doubles. Our evening meals took ages...

We stayed for a couple of nights on our way to York. Would it equal our first visit - definitely! The restaurant and our room was excellent, but, what makes it special is the staff, who really make us feel at home. The Burythorpe is one of the very few hotels we have visited more than once, and we will...

Have just had a night at BH having not been for a couple of years. It always was good, but now it is amazing! It has been bought by Eric Clapton who has spared no expense in giving it a complete refurbishment. The rooms, the food, the staff are all superb. Alison & Sophie who looked after us are a...

Stayed for one night with dinner bed and breakfast, a Christmas gift. Excellent place to stay, with very friendly and helpful staff. The room was really nice and welcoming and we really enjoyed the dinner and breakfast. The only down side was that we couldn't stay longer.

This is a wonderful country house hotel. Our second visit was every bit as good as the first. The rooms are fantastic, all different, so look and choose. Tastefully decorated throughout. A big fire to sit by with a little snifter and chat to other guests. The chef is first class, most enjoyable evening dinner and lovely breakfast. In fact...

We visited for a second time, the first visit being so enjoyable. All was still the same, we felt very welcome, ambience and service good with an excellent meal from a wide ranging menu, preceded by drinks including fine real ale.
