This hotel occupies a nice setting in a peaceful wooded area on a steep slope, yet close to a range of bars, restaurants and shops, and only 10-15 minutes' walk from the entrance to Khao Sok National Park (where several walking trails start). The site includes a small (but quite deep) swimming pool. Mr Chot, the manager, is very friendly and helpful, always willing to provide information and sorted a minor problem we had with the room, very quickly. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order from a menu including choices of eggs and pancakes plus fruit and nice coffee (however, the portions are not huge and the hotel makes it clear you pay extra if you want more). Our room (like all the others, an individual cabin) was clean, quite spacious, neatly tiled throughout and with a comfortable bed. The bathroom and shower were good. In addition to the air con, a fan was provided. There was also a seating area outside the room. Wifi was ok and a safe provided. Birds seen in the grounds included: Little Spiderhunter, Red-throated Barbet, Stripe-throated Bulbul (feeding young) and also - just over the road - Orange-bellied Flowerpecker. If you like the sound of the setting, this hotel is certainly worth considering for a stay in Khao Sok.…
A real hidden gem. Built in the forest. Very well decorated. A lot of privacy. Mr. Chot is just excellent. A little electricity problems. Breakfast can be better. We stayed in room #3 which was very good.
The hotel has an excellent position in the village of Khao Sok, within easy reach of many good restaurants and the National Park. Mr Choi, the Manager was superb, thorough in his knowledge of the area, very organised in booking additional trips and very helpful. The breakfasts were very, very good, far better than in other comparable hotels near other National Parks. The room was clean and the service good each day. Each room was set in a lovely garden but steep paths and steps could have been a problem but lifting of cases was done by the staff so that was alleviated.
Well kept bungalows in a beautiful garden surrounding, with soft beds and nice bathrooms. Swimmingpool is OK, a bit dirty. Staff is very friendly and breakfast is good quality. Khao Sok is rather touristy, especially the tours, but the lake is stunning so it's worth it
I am a father traveling with my 10 year old son. We stayed at Las Orquideas resort for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The villa/room was lovely, clean and air conditioned and included it’s own patio. The breakfast service was fast and food was delicious. Mr. Chot, the innkeeper, was incredibly attentive to our every need. He helped organize our trips to explore the park and arranged other transportation as well. The property is immaculately manicured with beautiful plants and sounds of nature fill the air.
