The owners were just about to leave when we visited, the pub was empty and we were the only people in the hotel so we felt they thought we were a bit of a pain to have in there last few days. The landlord was miserable but his wife was nice it just seemed they did not want us to be...

Room was large and quiet with a good sized bathroom. Had an excellent pint or two of a local breweries Winter Royal which was kept just as it should be. Breakfast was good with a couple of nice touches.

Customer Service was excellent Food was excellent- Steak night was fantastic! Such value for money. The food was served by a brilliantly polite (bright haired) young lady, she was very customer focussed, friendly and happy young woman. The Steak came exactly as we had asked for it. Mine medium. My wife's rare. Even she was was shocked by how brilliant...

Resident on Dartmoor we visited here while catching up with friends from when we lived in the area. Lovely evening, cosy atmosphere and well presented and beautifully cooked food. The extensive menu was a delight to choose from, something for all tastes. Service was good and the welcome inviting, staff friendly. It is a great place to catch up with friends...

The room was booked at short notice as my wife and I had to visit an elderly relative who had been taken ill. The room itself was fine but, on the Sunday morning, we were woken by the people in the next room moving around their room because the floorboards creaked noisily. That said, the landlord and staff were friendly...

Tucked away in the middle of nowhere, yet convenient for major destinations, beautiful countryside and even the M40, an inn, b&b, restaurant, bar. Welcoming landlord is attentive and helpful while his wife works in the kitchen in the evening. I had braised duck wrapped in parma ham which was delicious and almost melted in the mouth. Excellent choice of house...

I stayed here as part of my Ridgeway walk. It's a bit further out from the Ridgeway Trail than some of the other places I stayed (you pass through Chinnor and it's a mile or so down the pavement on the B road. But worth the effort for a relaxing stay and for the excellent food and beer. The road...

You enter the pub through a small area adjacent to toilets. My stomach flipped, it was not a pleasant smell to endure on entering and leaving the building. Check in however was swift and the room, although in need of a little tlc and removal of cobwebs in the bathroom was not disappointing. The bed was very comfortable, it was...

The ground floor double room was scruffy, even allowing that dogs were allowed to stay in it. The blind cord was broken and the bathroom fittings dated and tired with no thermostatic control of the temperature of the water of the shower over the bath. The evening meal was very acceptable, but breakfast was niggardly, which unfortunately seem to be...

Visited here with my 2 young children on the way back from the Chinnor and Princess Risborough Railway as was in by Good Beer Guide. I enjoyed a good pint of Cotswold Gold in the large garden which looked well looked after. There was ample space for my 2 kids to run about (maybe some play equipment would have kept...
