Each pair of travelers gets a separate yurt, which are well-appointed (although only two of the five have flush toilets). They are clean, comfortable, and offer a breath-taking view, especially at sunrise. The meals were native Mexican fare, beautifully prepared and served by a friendly and delightful staff. Activities included swimming with the sea lions, fishing (catching dinner each day...

Many thanks Lou for your visit and kind words. We aspire with Las Animas Ecolodge to be known as a world-class ecolodge in Mexico and worldwide. We have been constantly evolving and making improvements over the last 11 years. We will continue to do more in being sustainable, more solar and wind, a garden, onsite water desalination and more. Yes, a little expensive, but think of all you get. Just a hop-skip-and-jump from San Diego, Baja is like a dream. You are whisked away to a desert paradise near Bahia de los Angeles. Imagine swimming with hundreds of friendly sea lions amid lush sea grasses full of fish. Where the desert meets the Sea of Cortez, bird watching never...

Just returned from the Best of Baja six day adventure - three nights at Las Animas Wilderness Lodge and then two nights getting up close and personal with the gray whales in the Ojo de Liebre lagoons out of Guerrero Negro. The flight down in a six-seat Cessna Cherokee was fun, and our pilot was very experienced. The planes are...

What an incredible get-away! The adventure is split between a couple of days of whale watching on the pacific coast, and then a few nights at the secluded camp on the Sea of Cortez. Gorgeous wildlife, outstanding fresh food, opportunities to kick back or to enjoy multiple activities - fishing, hiking, snorkeling, finding clams and oysters, etc. This kind of...

The Yurts are lovely - loved the warm showers at the end of the day. Family still believes we had the best fish tacos that we have ever had. Margartias and watching sun set is not to be missed. Great variety of activities, the fishing guides were excellent, snorkling good but cold water in the spring, boats took kids water...

It's rare that you feel so completely disconnected and at peace as quickly and easily as at Las Animas. After a beautiful flight in a 6 seater you arrive at sleepy Bahia de Los Angeles and get whisked away in a little boat for an hour until you arrive at your private yurt on the beach - heaven! Greeted by...

What an amazing, magical, even spiritual experience! We went to swim with the whale sharks in Las Animas Bay. We rolled out of our comfy beds eat morning to fresh fruits and coffee, walked across the beach to our boat and drove out into our bay to swim with the biggest fish in the sea! It was so humbling to...

Outstanding trip! We first read a travel article about Las Animas in the San Diego UT around 2 years ago. The write ups and reviews talked about a great travel adventure, gorgeous scenery, comfortable accommodations, great food, swimming with whale sharks and excellent fishing. After about 36 hours there we realized that everything promised had been delivered! We met Gray,...
