This resort is fantastic in every aspect of a vacation for families with children or adults looking for a getaway! From the food, to the drinks, to the entertainment, to the staff, this resort checks all the boxes! The staff goes out of their way to accommodate your family in every aspect of the vacation! From the time we had our first drink at the lobby bar from Helene, to meeting our concierge Julio, to dropping our kids off to the kids club with Evelyn, Isabel, Anny G, Anny M and Figeria, or Rafael checking on us by the pool, every aspect was fantastic! The food really stood out from other resorts we have stayed at in the past! Miguel at the Italian Resturant was fantastic. There were 2 people who really put our trip over the top and they were Profete and Julio! Profete made all our dining experiences were 5 star, and Julio made sure our overall experience was memorable! We highly recommend this resort and will certainly return in the near future!!

This was our 1st trip to the Dominican Republic and to Margaritaville Cap Cana. The resort the Dominican Republic were both wonderful and we definitely will go back. Weather, people, food, service, entertainment, room and resort were all excellent. We read mixed reviews regarding the beach but we loved it. You could do a lot or you could just relax and do absolutely nothing. We also met other guests who made our trip even more fun and are now our new friends. We went on 1 tour offsite and spent the rest of our trip at the resort. We had a romantic dinner on the beach served by Denis and Dennis with excellent service and food. Our 1st and last drinks and many more drinks were made by Luis….. Shake It Baby!!!!! In the Prestige Lounge Yetaldin had a 43 liquor Carajillo drink waiting for us after dinner nightly. Gemara and Gabriel in house keeping and turndown took great care of our room. We took the Land Shark brewery tour with the head brewer and a wine tasting with the wine sommelier. Enjoyed both. We loved the food and service at the restaurants. Always good. Room service was quick and good. Orders were always correct. We met Catherine, Madelen, Perla and Ara at checkin and they always had smiles whenever we saw them through out our stay. Last of all… Eramy our butler! He was the person who made sure we were well taken care of and happy from the moment we arrived until we left. Eramy took care of everything. Sometimes without us even seeing him. Somehow he just knew. Amazing! His smile and professionalism was so welcoming. Eramy loves what he does and it shows in the pride he takes in taking care of his guests. He truly wants to make sure you have the best vacation possible. We sure did! Thank you!!!!

The resort was clean, modern and nicely designed and well decorated. All the staff were friendly. Food was exceptional especially breakfast and omelettes prepared by the “egg ladies”. The choice of restaurants was exceptional. We could not have asked for better accommodations and service. A special thank you to the staff at the Salty Rim, Gregorio, Luis and Alysleidy and everybody else for keeping our drinks delicious and cold. Each and every staff member we encountered deserves a special thank you for being helpful and so hospitable. Hope to see you all again.

I stayed here for 5 nights with my family. Took my wife, 3 year old daughter and 73 year old mom. Although our stay did not blow us away, it was still very comfortable and we were able to relax and enjoy the things the resort had to offer. Tip #1: as others have written, be sure to go to Dominican Republic E-Ticket website (just google it) and fill out your information. You will get a QR code that can be scanned when passing through immigration which will save you some time. FYI, we landed on a Thursday around 2pm and although the immigration line was long, it took us about 30 minutes to get through it. During our stay at the resort, we were told it was at 39% capacity and it sure did feel that way. The pools and restaurants were never crowded and the only noise you could hear was from entertainment. We loved our Paradise Room as it was beautifully decorated and was cleaned consistently throughout our stay. The housekeeping staff did a great job of cleaning and exchanging our towels and making the bed whenever we stepped out for either pool time or mealtime. TV had a handful of movie channels that kept us entertained when resting. The WIFI is strong and there was never any issue connecting. There was a small annoyance in that they make you scan a QR code to connect to their WIFI. However, when connecting from a laptop, since it cannot scan a QR code, you either have to get the password from your phone (if it has that feature) or somehow share from phone to laptop. I asked the front desk for the password and they could not share it with me. Luckily my wife’s Iphone was able to show the password so I could type it into my laptop’s WIFI. The pool’s are spacious and relaxing. We stayed on the family side and hung out at the 2 bigger pools and the 1 kiddie pool. They have a burger shack for lunch but that is the only poolside food available. The KOS Mediterranean restaurant is dine-in only and does not offer take-out. One wish I had was that they offered more food to-go options where you can eat at the pool and relax. Another request is for them to play more variety of music. They were blasting reggaeton the first few days which became a repetitive. Play some rock, 80’s, top hits, etc. to make it more enjoyable. The restaurants were hit or miss. After eating at every restaurant and also ordering room service, we came to the conclusion that they have a central kitchen and they use the same type of dishes for different restaurants. This lacks some creativity on their end and wish they offered more flavors/options. That said, the 2 best restaurants were the Steakhouse and Italian. The Asian restaurant was probably the worst, and the Landshark Brewery was disappointing since they had none of their house brew on tap which left us confused. The Boathouse served breakfast and lunch buffet style and was pretty good. I recommend going to the eggs/omelet bar for breakfast as the chef there will cook you up something delicious. Room service food was OK and whenever we ordered through the app there was always 1 or 2 missing items. I think the menu on the app needs updating because it seems not all the items are available. For your first meals, eat at the steakhouse and Italian restaurants before the other ones. Tip #2: Room service is available 24 hours. When they aren’t busy, it took about 20-40 minutes for the food to arrive. When they are busy, it took more than 1 hour. You are able to call and ask for food to arrive a certain time. One of the days we had a snorkeling trip scheduled early so I called room service the night before and they delivered our food on time the next morning before our departure. They have a small café called Joe’s Merchant where you can use the points given and get free things, such as soda, alcohol, snacks, coffee beans, etc. The café also has sandwiches, juices, pastries, fruit plates, and desserts such as cakes which are all FREE. Tip #3: Highly recommend you take advantage of Joe’s Merchant. Since it’s small and wedged next to LandShark Brewery and can be missed. The coffee, sandwiches, fruit plates, juices, and sweets such as cakes and pastries are all FREE here. Go here and eat a snack or get something to-go if you will be going outside the resort. Also, the coffee beans they sell here are delicious. Use your points to purchase and take them home as a gift. One of the highlights of the property is the gym. It is spacious and has a number of machines to get a great workout in. They offer free towels and water. Yoga/stretching room. Free weights up to 50#. Barbells up to 100#+. Smith machine to do any bench press or squats. Punching bag. Plenty of treadmills and bicycle machines. Tip #4: The gym offers free water bottles. The room provides 2 free bottles and housekeeping will replenish it, but if you need more, go to the gym and grab some. As others have said, the beach here is not swimmable. It has way too much seaweed floating around. If you want to lay out, they have beach chairs but don’t expect much else. We tried walking 15 minutes to Juanillo Beach beach but it became tiresome in the hot sun and we kept seeing seaweed floating in the ocean along the way. Since the beach doesn’t offer much and the resort is all-inclusive, we started feeling a bit bored by the 4th day. At night, there’s music and some events but the lack of people gave it a quieter, mellow atmosphere. If I did not bring my family and came as just a couple or with friends it probably would’ve been a lot more fun as the alcohol is all-inclusive. Resort management does make an effort to make it enjoyable though. One night they had “Dominican Night” and served BBQ and a buffet style spread outdoors. It was a great atmosphere and we enjoyed the entertainment with music and dancers. They have a Kid’s Club here from ages 4+ and they offer activities throughout the day. One of the nights they had an interactive group dance at their theater which was pretty fun. Another night they had a Michael Jackson Tribute show but we were too tired to join. Every night there seemed to be live music which was relaxing to listen to, but due to the low capacity, there were hardly any people dancing and the atmosphere just felt a bit dull. I do have to give a big shoutout to Alexander at the Punch Bar. Our last night there he played with our daughter while a live band performed and she just absolutely loved it. You could tell he genuinely likes kids and wanted our daughter to have a good time. He makes a genuine effort to make sure you are having a good time. All in all, my family and I had a relaxing time and we thank the staff for their efforts. Tip #5: Don’t forget to tip! Preferably in US dollars. We tipped $1-$2 for drinks, $15-$20 for lunch/dinner, and $20 to housekeeping (5 night/6 day stay). If any of you have any questions about my stay I would be happy to help, just send over a direct message.

My family and friends all decided to go here last minute for a mini getaway and wow what a bad decision. I’ve never been to a place where I was being told no at all times. Our concierge was so unprofessional- didn’t come through with taco tray at the pool, couldn’t book us a boat day, or offer welcome popsicles or flip flops that other resort guests were getting for free! The service is also super slow at every restaurant - our drinks would come at the end of the meal and if you ordered more they would forget or never bring one at all. Pool side drinks are all watered down which was such a disappointment. We have traveled to a lot of resorts in our lives and this one had to be one of the worst- never coming back in the future.

-Check-in Process 0/5: Complete disaster. The Check-in person didn't want to hear our concerns and ignored us when we came down to tell him about our rooms. He told us to call our booking agent (Karisma Resorts) and after an hour, we were told to ask for the manager. We were not offered sandals or Lollipops on arrival. Room 1/5 not "Garden view" more like "Desert/Construction view" for 2 king bed Junior Suite. Lots of issues in the room- even though our room was freezing, my sister's room never got cold. The closet doors wouldn't slide close, and the light in the closet would automatically come on when the door was open. It was hard to sleep. TVs were not programmed, iron's wire would keep coiling up. We basically had a technician in our room everyday sorting out issues. - Concierge 1/5- Refused to organize floating taco tray unless our friends did a sales pitch at the hotel. When they did, they were informed we needed 24 hrs in advance notice and they did it the last day we were there. He was not helpful for the room situation, any request we asked he would write notes and not follow through with anything. A complete waste of time. Kids activities 2/5: Even though the kids club had activities listed, it was closed when we went. We saw a foam party happening while in the pool by the beach, I got the kids and we ran over only to find out it was for Adults only. Babysitting in the room was $20 per kid per hour. Between my sister and I, that's 4 kids and would have been $80/hr if we wanted to go to dinner with the others in our group. Kids enjoyed the pool near the beach. - Service 3/5- Some were nice but others wouldn't even look at you unless you waved around some money. Tips are strongly encouraged. I also noticed if the staff didn't want to do something, they would say "We ran out" or "It finished." Nothing you can do about that then. Hotel/Property 4/5: Clean, grounds were well kept and resort itself is beautiful. The beach is un-swimmable and rocky. Restaurants 3/5: Buffet Breakfast, JWB Steakhouse and Italian Restaurant were good. At the Asian Restaurant, the server ruined our experience. Instead of letting us order entrees like the rest of the tables, he took it upon himself to order for us family style. Food was ok there.

We stayed 5 nights at Margaritaville Cap Cana in May 2023. The resort was only at 20% capacity, so plenty of room to find a beach or pool chair. The facilities are really nice, clean, rooms and bathrooms are spacious and super cold AC! Housekeeping was top notch and they always fulfilled our request for extra towels, etc. The beach isn't the best, yes there was seaweed when we were there and it is much too rocky/pebbles to comfortably walk in. You can walk past the resort to the Hyatt beach area and it's a little bit better, but same issues. This resort has a lot of potential to be great. The biggest disappointment was the service. We actually walked out of Rum Runners and Kos Mediterranean because we were not getting served. We were greeted, sat at a table, served waters, and then nothing, even when the waiter came by and asked if we were ready to order. After we said yes we were ready in both instances they just walked away and never returned. It was the strangest thing. At the Asian restaurant we were served appetizers but not the entree. I ordered the floating taco bar ($85 for 2 people) to be delivered to our room at 4p, and called after 4:30 when it still was not delivered. It came an hour later. The inconsistency in the service was really frustrating, especially since the resort was not full. When we did eat, the food was tasty and fresh. Our favorite restaurant was the Steakhouse. I ordered the french onion soup, salmon, mashed potatoes and banana pie. All delicious. The breakfast buffet was one of the biggest I have seen - omelet or eggs your way station, bloody mary bar, mimosa bar, pancake/waffle/crepe station, pastries, bagels, hashbrown, bacon, fresh fruits, cheeses, you will not be hungry! Alcohol selection was good at the bars - Tito's, Malibu, Jack, Jim, Smirnoff. I did not recognize the tequila brand they had. You can refill your mini fridge from the provisions at the market (Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, beers (Corona or Stella), Evian, and Lay's or Pringles chip options and chocolates. The gym is excellent - they have a smith machine, free weights, kettlebells, cable machine, treadmills, elliptical, bikes, battle ropes, and boxing equipment. They have extra bottles of water they keep stocked in here if you are in a pinch. We also visited the spa and it was excellent, you go through a water journey - cold plunge, steam/sauna, and hot tub before your treatment. It's so relaxing. Highly recommend. Be warned if you are assigned a room concierge they will try to upsell you on a timeshare multiple times. I had to decline three times before they left me alone. They will tell you the presentation is 20 minutes (it is not - closer to 75 min from other guests we talked to that actually went). They'll try to give you "gifts" of spa vouchers, beach bag, etc in exchange for your time. Just keep saying no. It is pretty annoying. Overall lots of positives for this resort but the lack of solid customer service makes it not a repeat choice for us.

This place is well-rounded and very entertaining. Nothing was disappointing, from the food to the activities. A few of favorite activity was the foam party, Dominican theme nights, and water aerobics. I would recommend this place to everyone. YoYo, Adrian, Beba, Haidi, and Alexander were so much fun to hang with. They made Margaritaville 10x better!! I will definitely be back!!
