We booked a Bronze Caravan and were situated in Abersoch, which was a little bit of a walk to the main facilities, but lovely and quiet (what we wanted) and close to the entrance and beach. The caravan was lovely inside, and it had everything we needed. Added bonus was the little side porch/balcony for sitting out on. We found no issues with cleanliness, but we did experience some issues with ants. However, this was well advertised on arrival, and maintenance did come out to spray. We were also extra careful with food, etc. We also experienced an issue with a window not closing properly, but maintenance came out ASAP, and it was fixed immediately. The site itself was really friendly, and there was so much to do, especially for little ones. We went swimming (need to book well in advance), go karting, soft play, visited the arcades, but the highlight was the entertainment - especially the pantomime (Aladdin), the tots disco was also really good. We actually walked down to Prestatyn, through the Golf course and its a lovely walk and town to explore. We later found out there is a bus (11c) that actually comes onto the site (near the main entrance), and goes to Prestatyn and beyond. The sand dunes were the jewel of the beach. Some lovely spots for picnics, and sunbathing, and the kids loved rolling/sliding down them. The upper beach itself was fantastic and good for making sand castles etc, our only reservation was the sea itself. As we walked closer to the sea, we came to some muddy/watery spots where you sink in quite a bit, and we had to pick up and carry our children who didn’t like it. The sea didn't look particularly clean, and the muddy areas stank! we ended up avoiding the sea at Haven all together and drove to the main Prestatyn beach, which seemed much cleaner. This was the only negative side for us. We also noticed warning signs for quick sand, but this was much further along the beach. All in all it was a good holiday and we had a great time. The staff on site were lovely and made us feel welcome. Will return in the future x

The caravans were very clean on arrival plenty of activities going on lovely outside bar for the sunny days. The pool was ok but would be nice to have a toddlers area. Pity one pool was closed on the day we were leaving short walk to beach and sand dunes.

Booked a half-term Monday to Friday holiday at Presthaven, as an alternative to Mablethorpe or Skegness - our usual haunts for the grandkids week away with granddad and Nan at Spring half-term. We chose Presthaven as it was close to the beach and offered lots for the kiddies, but what really swung it for us was the Diamond Lodges on offer. So having parted with just over £1,300.00 we were really looking forward to getting away with our two grandchildren (and daughter who insisted on tagging along). Day 1. “Keep on this road for about a mile, then take a right turn just after the mini market” the welcoming staff member told us at the camp barrier. She wasn’t wrong….. seemed to be driving for ever to the right hand turn onto The Meadows. As we turned onto the patch our Lodge was situated on we excitedly looked around for our Lodge only to be greeted by the sight of caravans/mobile homes/static caravans - call ‘ em what you like they were caravans to us, they had wheels ALL of them. Not a Lodge in sight. A quick double check on our reservation - yep, 8 The Meadows - A DIAMOND LODGE. Eventually we found number 8 and it was certainly NOT a Lodge, and certainly not a “Diamond”, it was a large caravan/mobile home/static caravan. First disappointment held in so as not to upset the grandkids. Entered our caravan/lodge and did the usual quick tour. The layout of the “property” was nice, very spacious lounge/dining area and kitchen. Bedrooms were typical caravan bedrooms. The en-suite bedroom wasn’t anything special. Closer inspection on the cleanliness of the “property” found a large WET stain on the living room carpet. A caked-on stain on the entrance carpet. Checking surfaces for cleanliness we found EVERY shelf and ledges at head height and above - thick with dust. The en-suite shower was pretty bad - never been wiped down. Wardrobe tops untouched. Cupboards and shelves untouched. Kitchen cupboards (top of) covered in dust and grease - never been touched since installation (so it appeared to us). Balcony door curtain….. torn at the bottom the full width and tied in a knot to try and disguise it. External - night light on balcony covered in spiders/cobwebs, most unsightly. Kiddies toys left under lounge settee and on decking and surrounding grass area. Burst balloons littering the grass area too. We telephoned reception immediately and reeled off the above. Apologies from reception and the promise of cleaners to come back and rectify things, which they did about an hour later. We left them to it as we visited the parks mini-market to stock up on provisions for the week. Day 2. My wife woke up to prepare breakfast for everyone. Went to the fridge/freezer and found everything thawed out and ruined. £30.00 worth of frozen foods relegated to the bin….. tea and toast all round for brekkie. Complained to reception that someone had turned off the fridge/freezer isolation switch prior to our arrival and it had gone unnoticed. No offer of recompense. The main club house - if you can’t stand the smell of stale ale then stay away. Empty tables were just left littered with glasses and empty bottles, no staff bothered to clear them away. Kiddies entertainment was enjoyed by the grandkids - on the 2 nights we dared to venture in there - on both nights we had left by 8pm. Fish & Chip shop - what a rip-off… Fish on a Bun with tartar sauce.? £6.00 for 3 x miniscule fish bites on a burger bun……. and I had to ask for the tartar sauce. Chips were tasteless frozen ones. The restaurant - not a lot of choice for dinner as they had run out of most of the menu items. (7:00pm) Play park for kiddies — agree with previous comments - inadequate for size of park. Beach - don’t let your kiddies dig in the sand….. it’s unhealthy, and don’t hike down to the sea…. you’ll get knee deep in oily mud. WI-FI and mobile phone reception ……NOTHING, ZILCH, NIL, NUL, NOWT…… if you’re not sat in the clubhouse then you can guarantee a wi-fi/phone free holiday. Good points…. Sorry Presthaven (Haven Holidays) the only good point I can offer the reader is…… ….. the 10:00am check-out. REQUIRED ACTION BY HAVEN HOLIDAYS Read your customer reviews/feedback/complaints and take appropriate action immediately in the hope of retaining your customer base

The park itself was great, lots to do for toddlers and kids of all ages. Entertainment was great, however our caravan couldn't have been grubbier. We arrived late so I cleaned it myself when we arrived, and throughout the week found one thing after the other. The day before we left I found the scissors with the cooking utensils covered in what looked to be someones beard hair. Would go back but only to a private caravan, Haven did not respond until today with a generic response despite reporting it online on our day of arrival. Shocking.

Being a travel agent of 20 years and a travel blogger, I have been fortunate enough to visit a variety of UK and overseas resorts, including Butlins, Park Dean and Centre Parc. In all fairness, I didn't have high expectations about this stay. It was a super cheap late deal but still at £190 for a saver caravan with passes, I thought what the hell...let's just give it a go for 3 nights. Upon arrival to the caravan, my heart sunk. It was worse than I ever could fear. Caravan upon caravan, all crammed in. Each caravan covered in seagull poo. We noticed all the windows were opened and knew this could only mean bad news...we were right, we opened the door to be greeted by not only stale cigarette smell but also fresh cigarette smoke. It was horrendous. The caravan needed a deep clean. The carpet was filthy. There was cigarette burns on the furniture. Someone had kicked a hole in the bathroom door. I went to reception and asked if it was possible to move from this saver caravan to another. I'm not asking for an upgrade, I'm asking for a caravan that me and my children can breathe in. We were refused and told that there were none available but was promised a dehumidifier. That did not arrive, despite going to reception twice. The whole site is a smokers paradise. The outdoor bar next to playground has ashtrays and the entrance into the entertainment hub is surrounded by people smoking. Even the security staff were vaping whilst on duty. We went for our evening meal in Mash and Barrel at 4.20. It was pretty empty. We attempted to order 3 meals, all not available. We eventually got food and they were the tiniest portions that we've ever been served and really not that tasty. The service was incredibly slow and we didn't get out until 6pm, despite only having mains. Entertainment venue too small for the amount of people on site. No one checked play passes for evening entertainment, so really annoyed as that was why we had purchased. The noise after midnight is horrific. We could have done with ear plugs. The caravan upon caravan really doesn't help. You can hear everything that is happening in every caravan. Not to mention groups having in caravan parties with open doors and loud music. Security couldn't care less though. 2am and dogs barking. 3am and kids still running around. The saver caravans have no sound proofing. Don't expect sleep. The staff couldn't care less, I didn't see one smile the whole time we were there. Haven also failed to inform us of venue changes for our sporting activities. We had to chase it ourselves resulting in some children missing the first 10 minutes. The playground is tiny. Not enough room to cater for the amount of children on site. The whole place needs TLC. It's a dive and heading in the way of Pontins. It's quite possibly the very worse holiday park that I have ever in my life stayed in.

I would never of booked if I knew about how bad the ants were. Upon arrival they were running all around the kitchen. I then realised they were everywhere and would run over you when sitting or in the bedroom. We didn't have much food in the caravan but they were still everywhere. There is a leaflet in the arrival pack basically saying environmental health say there is nothing they can do and the caravans are still clean. I would hate to go in September when all the flying ants are leaving their best. Other than that it was ok, beds were tiny and very soft. The caravan was clean but did have existing stains. Noisy neighbours blarred music all night and I couldn't find the details to let reception know, but that was unfortunate. Make sure you take a pound for the lockers swimming as I couldn't find anything to say it was needed so had to leave our belongings on the side when we got there. Food app only worked for burger king unable to order to the cavaran on collection for any other place. Generally it was good, there was activities, food etc. The main issue was the ants I definitely feel haven should have declared it. It was just a few it was hundreds, and would literally crawl over you. They do put powder down if you ask, but it doesn't make a difference while actually there. I would never of gone knowing the ant situation and would not go again which is a shame because the facilties are fine for the price

Dirty and messy all round the main entertainment area. Crazy golf walking past the Restaurant was so filthy. Booked a lodge (it was a caravan on arrival) NO LODGES. So false advertisement. Had to get it re cleaned on our arrival. The fridge was switched off at the mains. Unaware to us. So we lost all our food the following morning. Chip shop was a joke. Worst chip shop I’ve ever been too! The main entertainment room was so awful. Dirty uncleared tables. Entertainment was terrible. Not enough parks for kids to play on. I could go on all day….. We paid a lot of money for a 4 nights lodge. What a total disappointment. Haven you need to smarten your act up!!! PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY BOOKING ON THIS SITE.

Brilliant place, clean, friendly staff, lots to do, safe place. Could do with more staffing in the mash and barrel, as lots of empty tables but was not allowed to eat without a booking. Would recommend.

We had ants on arrival and things we paid for were missing, when we complained it took multiple days for these things to arrive, the staff were lovely but in the mash and barrel the food took a long time to arrive and wasnt as warm as it should be. Even after days of complaining about ants they rushed to put traps and powder down so we still have them, we had to clean what they didnt which ruined our trip. The pool area and food was lovely overall just upsetting about the missing things and ants. Evening entertainment was lovely too.
