Lanes is a Hotel that's second to none. The staff were excellent, they showed interest to all people that were there, completely outstanding, Ruth who served most of our meals was excellent, all served with a smile. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection by the chef Andy. The bar was also run like clockwork, again the service was... More

Hotel is modern and rooms well equipped. Bathroom was very large and the bath was massive- had to jump straight in! Complimentary drinks and snacks very welcome after a long day. The beds weren't the comfiest but were ok. The only complaint I had was music playing in the corridors, had to ring at midnight to get it turned off... More

Great base for our weekend visit to Sherborne. Sadly there were a few minor gripes for us - the hotel lacks a clearly defined Reception area and the existing small desk in the corner of the lounge area is not always "manned". Staff seem to lack clearly defined roles - but one lady, Amy, was incredibly helpful, albeit she was... More

The Lanes is set in the beautiful village of West Coker. In my opinion the hotel offers the perfect location as a base for exploring the county of Somerset. Being so near to both the west coast and south coast and coupled with easy access to the fascinating towns of Glastonbury and Wells et al, the hotel is perfectly located.... More

My wife and I stayed at this lovely hotel on 29th and 30th of September. Overall our stay was very nice, good room , lovely peaceful location with a nice country pub over the road as well. My only moan was on the Friday morning we had a beautiful breakfast to order, beautifully cooked and served. However on the Saturday it... More

This hotel is a number one choice when traveling to Yeovil. The main building with reception and restaurant is an old renovated house when the rooms are located in a new building with modern design. The parking is a bit small that is the only negative point i will find !!

Stayed overnight whilst visiting the area, wished we had booked for longer. A lovely hotel which is a little different, in a positive way, from most that I have stayed in. The lady on reception not only checked us in but showed us to our room and explained details of the hotel and facilities (the complimentary snacks and drinks are... More

Stayed 3-nights. Rooms most comfortably furnished....very satisfactory. Rooms in separate building to restaurant, reception and lounge....an inconvenience in wet weather! Bar very pleasant. Restaurant very courteously serviced, however a rather indifferent menu with the limited veggie options lacking in imagination or experience. Hard working and courteous staff and management, however, executed as if following a rule book rather than as... More

Stayed overnight en route to Cornwall and was bowled over by quality of Lanes Hotel. Immaculate stylish hotel, extremely well equipped rooms, beautiful gardens, delicious food and well trained staff. We will be going back and would highly recommend.
