Lanes is a perfect blend of traditional and modern. Beautiful grounds and old stone walls contrast nicely with the modern touch of the new wing. Delicious food in the restaurant. Comfortable accommodations with very friendly staff make this an easy choice. Lauren was great at the bar with timely drinks and friendly banter. I came for work but I would...

I stayed for the first time on a business trip at the recommendation of a colleague. I loved it, the place has a lovely mix of old and new, traditional and modern. I stayed in one of the rooms in the main house. The room was huge and had everything I needed and more, tea and coffee making facilities with...

The best in Yeovil ... which isn't saying all that much. Nice enough hotel. But has a faintly odd amateur air about the whole place, stay, staff, breakfast .... ..... lukewarm service especially the 'welcome'. Lovely cats about the only warmth in the reception. Just kinda OK. Rooms nice enough. A bit bland. In fact bland, amateur and lukewarm probably...

Lanes is a Hotel that's second to none. The staff were excellent, they showed interest to all people that were there, completely outstanding, Ruth who served most of our meals was excellent, all served with a smile. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection by the chef Andy. The bar was also run like clockwork, again the service was...

Hotel is modern and rooms well equipped. Bathroom was very large and the bath was massive- had to jump straight in! Complimentary drinks and snacks very welcome after a long day. The beds weren't the comfiest but were ok. The only complaint I had was music playing in the corridors, had to ring at midnight to get it turned off...

Great base for our weekend visit to Sherborne. Sadly there were a few minor gripes for us - the hotel lacks a clearly defined Reception area and the existing small desk in the corner of the lounge area is not always "manned". Staff seem to lack clearly defined roles - but one lady, Amy, was incredibly helpful, albeit she was...

The Lanes is set in the beautiful village of West Coker. In my opinion the hotel offers the perfect location as a base for exploring the county of Somerset. Being so near to both the west coast and south coast and coupled with easy access to the fascinating towns of Glastonbury and Wells et al, the hotel is perfectly located....
