A lovely Sunday Roast from the Carvery. Would recommend most highly. (Please stop serving frozen green beans, when the rest of the veg are all lovely fresh veg) Great value, and a lovely pub with very friendly and helpful staff.

We were so looking forward to our lunch here but were terribly disappointed. The cream of spring vegetable soup was bland and tasteless. We gauged it against our own home made soups and it wasn't a patch on our own! Then the chicken, bacon and mayo baguette was lathered in mayo which was quite sickly. On a positive note, when...

Situated in the middle of a picture postcard village this is a great little place. I was only there one night but its very nicely done, comfortable rooms and parking opposite. The staff were really nice and helpful. The breakfast was superb! I had the smoked kippers and they were as good as any I have had. It was also...

Walked in to buy meals and drinks with our dog. Embarrassingly told in front of all in pub to take our welly boots off and leave them by the door. It certainly didn't make us feel welcome by the way it was said. We didn't want to use the loo walking round in our socks thanks!! Are we not in...

A simply beautiful place to stay. Great attention to detail and a very cosy place to rest your head. Dinner in the bar downstairs is an absolute must with an excellent bistro offering and a fine selection of ales. Breakfast is equally delicious with cooked-to-order options and fresh coffee on tap. Exceptionally friendly staff and the owner - Nicola -...

We visited today (Good Friday) The pub was clean, and the food was quick to arrive. We (all 3) enjoyed our main courses. We decided as the lunch was so nice, we'd treat ourselves to desserts from the menu on the table. When we asked about ordering dessert as our plates were being taken away, we were met with 'It's...

What a lovely village en route to Yeovil. Had a lovely meal with my family The food was great. The staff were very accommodating as the children's pizza came with beans and we wanted peas. They also provided bread and butter which was not added as a side.

Just had an amazing meal at the Phelips Arms in Montacute. It appears to have been recently refurbished and has a new, diverse menu - dishes for the whole family! The "create your burger" menu is a gourmet version of a family favourite. The veggie options are equally as good as the regular dishes. We would definitely recommend it!

This is not a 'pubby' pub - it is laid up as an eating pub and it does what it does reasonably well (although the other pub in the village was far busier). My steak & ale pie was excellent although my partner's steak was average. The service was inconsistent due to 3 young members of staff on duty, one...

Even though we hadn't booked, the friendly and helpful young girls who were working...
