We are so glad we stayed with George and Chabela in the delightful Barn on this property. This is not a place of conventional luxury - but it has charm, character, eclectic décor, peace, quiet, and is cozy and warm -- in a rustic way. We had all we needed: a comfy bed, lots of room to spread our stuff, a table by the window with a view on the harbour, a kitchen with basic facilities to make breakfast and lunches. There is no en-suite WC or shower - you have to go to the next door cabin. But that facility had an excellent shower with endless hot water. There is also a very refreshing outdoor shower - which I used most days and absolutely adored. Showering in the fresh air, what could be more fun? Also: George and Chabela are a fount of knowledge on things to see and do on the Avalon Peninsula and beyond. We took them up on their offer of booking a home dinner with them, and it was delicious and delightful. I would come back in a flash! (Note: the Barn could be a little chilly in cold weather - it's not insulated and the wind can get through, but there are effective heaters to beat the cold & damp away)
