We've had four wonderful castle stays but Fa'side is the one we think of as our magnificent Scottish home away from home. This was our second visit but hope not the last. Sue, Ian and family couldn't be more welcoming, helpful, informative or fun.
This is a must! Great place, great hosts!
I absolutely loved it there... Wish I had more time!
The breakfast exceeded my expectations... Fresh croissants, muffins, cereals, coffee....
You won't be disappointed. Everyone should experience this Beautiful piece of paradise!

We wanted to stay in a castle on our trip to Scotland but not spend an enormous amount for the privilege and also have it at least seem somewhat authentic. Faside more than met our expectations. Ian and Sue were gracious hosts and our room...More

They only rent out the old part of the castle now-they used to rent out three converted barns, but not now. You rent out 3 floors. The first one is the grand hall - which is a sitting/tv etc room with a lot of fabulous history. And you also rent the next floor which is the bedroom with a huge kingsize bed/ensuite/kitchen/dining. Both rooms are huge and take up the whole floor from x3 sides of the castle. You also have access to the rooftop with fabulous views. The castle has a lot of history which turned out to be part of my ancestry-well worthwhile experience & the owners a terrific. They live in the front (newer part) of the castle. If you are interested in history its a great place to stay (complete with dungeon & much more.) Go for it......highly recommend
