We stayed at Nayara tented camp for 4 nights in July with our 2 teenage kids. The tent and private plunge pool were amazing! The 4 of us fit fine in the tent/room- one king and 2 separate twins (as long as you don’t mind sharing one large bedroom with your kids). The outdoor shower was very nice. The room was impeccably cleaned each day. Kudos to the groundskeepers because the grounds are amazingly beautiful. The flora throughout the property and the on-site hot springs are truly special. We saw sloths, a toucan, frogs, and other animals. The staff were all extremely kind and helpful, especially Anna, who helped up arrange a few excursions. The poolside service in the Nayara tented section pool was great. Good flatbreads and drinks. The breakfast buffet was delicious and included lots of fresh fruit, omelets and crepes. We can’t wait to return to this special place!

There were toucans in the trees when we arrived. The property is truly breathtaking with open lobby overlooking the infinity edge pool among a backdrop of jungle and the Arenal Volcano. Actually, it brought me to tears. The rooms were as fabulous as the lobby. We used a local tour guide to organize activities throughout our stay in the La Fortuna area but it seemed the hotel could have arranged it all too- they have a huge list to choose from. Can’t speak to that but will only say that the excursions in the area are amazing but we loved the hotel so much that we actually cancelled a pre paid non refundable activity so we could enjoy a full day at the property. And the day was perfect! Started with a morning workout/yoga then breakfast delivered to our room to enjoy the view and a dip in the private hot springs. We then wandered the property (there are three areas- the Gardens, the Springs (adult) and the Tented Camp) sitting and swimming at each of the 4 pools before deciding to settle at the “quiet pool” for poolside lunch and lounging. In the afternoon we checked out a sloth who was eating some leaves and then had drinks at the swim up bar near the lobby. We then relaxed in the hot springs where we saw monkeys in the trees (and later red-eyed tree frogs). The food was outstanding everywhere we went although we didn’t hit all the restaurants! Highly recommend the hummus at Aria! Special shout out to Jordi at coolest bars (Amour Loco) I have ever been to and for making THE BEST mocktails for us! (Of course the cocktail menu was fabulous but as a non drinker it is outstanding to have a good drink and not be referred to the kids menu for drinks) Thanks Jordi! The entire staff was exceptional- some of the best service I have experienced in the world. In fact, the service at this remarkable resort is more in line with what I have seen at smaller, more remote places. Overall, if you have the opportunity to stay here you MUST do it!

I’m going to start saying that I don’t write reviews very often. But this 5 stars hotel deserves my time and my gratitude for such a mesmerizing experience. We picked Nayara Tented as our destination to celebrate 20 years together. Based on previous reviews from clients we decided. Everything was perfect since the moment we arrived to the resort. It was like they were expecting us and they called us by name which is always a plus. Nowadays Customer service is a dying science but Nayara puts it in front of everything. They are experts in client treatment and customer care. We felt ourselves pampered at all times. I can recall every moment with pleasure and that’s the essence of vacation because when you have to leave your heart stays. We can recall so many names. Jean at the reception, Joseph the bartender, Chris at one the thermals at the bar, Quentin executive cheff, and many others who made us feel at home. The golf club drivers, thanks to them we were always on time at every place. The cleanliness of the room at all times!!!!👍🏻 Now the view of the Arenal Volcano from the rectangular infinity pool is breathtaking and calming. Don’t be disappointed by the weather because it is unpredictable. Anyways you have to go there and taste that little bit of paradise. Ariam y Zenaida

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here and we could've have asked for a better experience. It's no wonder they are ranked the 2nd best hotel in the world! As soon as we arrived, we were transported to a magical location that neither of us have ever witnessed. The rainforest that Nayara is situated in is probably the most beautiful and relaxing places we have ever been to. The staff was beyond phenomenal. They thought of anything and everything they could do to make our stay the best. The food here was also incredible. They have a wide range of different meals; from sushi to Mediterranean. One of our favorite things to do in Nayara was explore the property. There was plenty of wildlife to see such as frogs, monkeys, and sloths! Although the Tented Camp is quite expensive, it was 100% worth it! I highly recommend staying at Nayara Tented Camp especially for a honeymoon!

This place is amazing. Well worth the 2.5 hour trip from the Liberia airport. Staying in the sloth section, we realized we could see the top of the volcano the next morning! Each tent is very quiet, private from any neighbors and nestled into the rainforest. The campus has 4+ different areas to lounge and staff are gracious to kart guest around the hilly and windy paths. I visited with girl friends. We had a great time and would highly recommend to anyone looking to have a relaxing trip in paradise. We did not book any excursions as we only had two days, but loved hanging out by the pool, participating in morning yoga and relaxing in the thermal pools. Dinner at amor local was fantastic, followed with breakfast and lunch at the main pool (name…..). These were the best two restaurants in our opinion. Well worth it and would definitely go back. Pura Vida!

High end accommodations with a fabulous view of the volcano from our room, deck and private hot spring pool. The service was unparalleled and breakfast on our private deck was delicious and special. It would be an ideal location for a honeymoon, special occasion or romantic get a way. The five restaurants on site were moderately priced but none were 5 star.

If I could rate this resort higher, I would. The service was really the best I have ever experienced. We felt like royalty - the room was stunning, the food was excellent and the service really was top notch. We enjoyed happy hour in the hot springs pool every day after we finished our activities. We ate at the restaurants the whole time we were there. My daughter and I did the yoga one of the mornings and saw a toucan there. The golf cart guys were happy to show up frogs, monkeys, etc. At one point, I was asked how things were going. I mentioned that we hear some construction (they are building more tents) when we go to the hot springs 4-5. After that, they comped us a meal to make up for it! Wow. We will be back.

Whatever I write about Nayara will likely not do the wonders of this magical place justice. I travelled with my husband and 10-year-old twin boys to Nayara in July, during the Costa Rican winter/rainy season. Our experience was no less than perfect. Impeccable service, attention to detail, and simply stunning location. We stayed in Tent 25, which we highly recommend, as it is incredibly private and quiet. The room is large, gorgeous, and with jaw-dropping unobstructed views of the volcano and surrounding vegetation. Although the beauty of the location cannot be overstated, it is the people that sets Nayara apart from other luxury resorts. The ample, world-class staff is expertly trained, attentive, and friendly. In addition, the Nayara management have very clearly placed tremendous care and attention to detail to every aspect of the resort. Their conservation efforts and constant work on improving the resort was evident, and we were surprised by how much wildlife we saw during our stay. Every single staff member we encountered in Nayara helped make our stay simply the best vacation we have ever taken as a family. We booked a few of the private tours (hanging bridges, Sky Trek/ziplining) as well as a private cooking class, and each was led by a knowledgeable and professional guide, who truly made for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Honestly, I cannot say enough about Nayara Tented Camp, Costa Rica, and its people. We would come back in a heartbeat, and look forward to visiting other Nayara locations soon.

Nayara Tented Camp was one of the most magical places I've ever stayed in! It truly felt like heaven on earth. Our timing was also great because they had just opened the pavilion with lobby, pool, bar, and restaurant 10 days before we arrived (on July 1)! Phenomenal views -- We were so lucky to arrive on a day when the clouds parted, and the Arenal Volcano made a rare appearance during rainy season! It's really stunning to see how close up the volcano feels from this resort. Lots of wildlife -- We did a guided nature walk with Ana, a certified naturalist. She was incredibly knowledgeable, so friendly, and we saw a ton of wildlife right there within the Nayara complex. Incredible hot springs -- I highly recommend these! They're private and very well maintained with lush landscaping throughout. They also strategically placed outdoor showers and citrus flavored water stands nearby each hot spring so you have everything you need. The service was excellent throughout our stay. Manrique at check in, Yermin at the restaurant, and Ana as our nature guide. They clearly have an A+++ staff/team in place here! Constructive comments - 1) The hairdryer in the room doesn't match the quality of the rest of the amenities (it seemed very cheap comparatively). 2) This is not an adults only resort, although it seems like it should be. I was surprised how many kids were staying there. Luckily, your tent is pretty private, but it still changes the experience a bit to see kids running around when you're in a luxury, secluded resort. 3) Good/bad news - they're expanding and building an additional 8 tents as well as a spa for the Tented Camp. You may hear construction noise throughout your stay. 4) Welcome experience -- you arrive to a welcome tent, and then a golf cart takes you up to the lobby pavilion for check in. They will park your car for you which is great! However, the service at the welcome tent seemed a little disconnected from the rest of the resort. They're probably still working out some kinks with the recent opening of the lobby pavilion. 5) We stayed in Tent Colibri 9 - it's close to the lobby pavilion, so it was convenient because we could walk 5 minutes to the restaurant, but the view is partially of the lobby pool. There are lots of steep hills on property, so be sure you request a tent based on your accessibility and view preferences when you make your reservation.
