We went the The Residence Dhigurah in December 2023 for our belated honeymoon, and it was more than worth the wait. It is the most beautiful place, and we loved every second.
The staff in particular were amazing, so friendly, helpful, professional and polite. Special mention to Hafiz and his team at The Dining Room Dhigurah (Walter, Sajith, Jony, Pavan and more) for being so attentive and nice. They remembered our names and villa number and order from the first day. All of these special touches meant you felt very looked after.

The quality of the food and drinks was amazing. We took the Standard All Inclusive package which offered a huge menu of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer and more, which was a pleasant surprise. The buffet selections at breakfast and dinner were great, good choice for vegetarian and everything was labelled really well. The food stations where things were being cooked in front of you were great. We were so full that we often skipped lunch or just had a salad. We loved Cafe Del Sol for pre- or post-dinner cocktails and preferred the pool at Dhigurah island (although both are lovely). The staff at Cafe Del Sol were also fab and highly skilled and attentive.

We loved having the bikes from the villa to get around both islands, and we didn’t often call a buggy, although this is an option if you don’t want to cycle. It was amazing being on one island but being able to cycle to the other to explore and see their pool, restaurant and bar. We ate in the other islands restaurant once for breakfast and dinner, but missed the staff and atmosphere at the Dhigurah Dining Room. We had an anniversary dinner at the Fulhumaa restaurant which was fantastic and well worth a visit (need to book). This was included in our Standard All Inclusive which we hadn’t realised but was a nice surprise. We also tried Li Bai where the Cantonese food was nice but was quite quiet on the day we went.

In terms of activities, we tried paddle boarding and house reef snorkelling. We also booked the Sunset Dolphin cruise which is extra but really worth it in our opinion. We saw so many dolphins and the most amazing sunset, and nice to see the islands from afar. Would definitely recommend this. We enjoyed the photo shoot with Naif and have some nice photos to keep as a memory of the trip.
My husband also did some diving with Amit and saw lots of turtles, sharks and sting rays.

The quality of the villas on Dhigurah island was amazing. Beautiful decor. We had a sunrise water villa and everything was stunning.

The trip back to the UK is long (with the extra domestic flight) but I guess that’s the price to pay to be in paradise. The resort organise all the transfers to Male so it is as smooth as possible.

Overall, an amazing experience and a very special place. Highly recommend

We stayed at this hotel on the Island of Dhigurah in March 2020 for nine nights. This was, without a doubt, the best holiday we have ever had.

The Island is tropical and uninhabited apart from the hotel. The hotel which was opened in 2019 is amazing, the quality of the room furnishings is excellent every attention to detail has been thought off, having our own private pool was so good. We were provided with bicycles to get around the island or to visit the Residence’s sister hotel on the adjoining island of Falhumaafushi which is connected by a 1km wooden bridge.

The food was unbelievable is all aspects, quality, choice, and presentation. We had a choice of five restaurants over the two islands and were never disappointed special thanks to Vigneshwan the head waiter for his brilliant service to us. I recommend taking the all-inclusive deal offered as drinks can be expensive and more choice on the a la carte menu.

The friendliness of all staff was exceptional, a special mention to our butler Shadheem who was so good at his job.

The Hotel Residence has to be a serious contender for anyone wanting a top-quality hotel in a truly wonderful location.

My husband and I stayed at the Residence Maldives at Dhigurah for 8 nights and we had such a fantastic time. After a long transfer from Male Airport with two stops and a short boat ride we arrived at the Residence. As we had just 6 months prior stayed at the Pullmann Maldives on a neighboring island, we naturally compared every aspect to our previous stay and the Residence did manage to hold its own. Due to the pandemic and also due to June being off-season the occupancy rate when we arrived was around 15%. However despite the low occupancy rate, the hotel for some reason decided to place most guests next to each other. This meant that even though there were literally 100 empty villas on the island, they placed us in between two villas with families. As most beach villas lacks privacy the hotel kindly moved us to a different villa with no neighbors. I understand that it is more efficient to place all guests close to each other but I would suggest that the hotel tries to sort out the privacy issue first.

The villa itself was well appointed and I was happy that the bathroom was indoors as a lot of hotels have outdoor bathrooms where it can be quite hot and humid. The room had all the amenities you need and was very spacious. The only thing I wish they would improve on was the selection in the minibar, which was extremely lacking especially compared to the Pullman. Only full fat sodas, juices and beer and some Pringles (original flavour – so boring).

As the Residence has two hotels connected by a long bridge, you basically have access to both hotels, gyms, their pools and restaurants which was really nice. We mostly used the Falhumaafushi pool as it had a swim-up bar, nice beach and some shade and umbrellas. The Dhigurah pool although bigger had no shade whatsoever and no umbrellas so you would burn very quickly. The gym at Dhigurah was well appointed with a good selection of equipment.

As we were on the all inclusive package (highly recommended) we ate at all restaurants and I must say that the food was fantastic (only exception was the buffet breakfast at the Dining Room on Dhigurah). We would have ala carte breakfast at the Dining Room on Falhumaafushi, and the food was absolutely amazing! Everything was freshly prepared and the selection substantial. Very impressed. Food at the Beach Bar and Café del Sol was also good with a wide selection. Highlights were Li Bai with absolutely amazing Chinese food and the fine dining at Falhumaa. Although not included in the all-inclusive package, the beach seafood BBQ was spectacular and worth every dollar!

Lastly, what really impressed us at this hotel was the service level and the staff. My husband and I have stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world and have been to the Maldives several times, but the service and dedication from the staff at the Residence was probably the best we have ever experienced. Shoutout to Nisha and Dhiyam and the staff at the Beach Bar at Falhumaafushi who were so kind and provided excellent service.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and we will most likely be back!

We stayed here for 4 nights in a sunset water pool villa & are yet to come out of this hangover.

The property is so beautiful, picturesque and instagrammable, you have an option to visit and dine in their speciality restaurants at the sister resort falhumafushi, explore both the islands on bicycles or buggies through a stunning 1 kilometre wooden bridge, built in between the sea, you wont feel bored even if you stay here for a month.

Amazing marine life, in house and water activities, you can even see a spool of dophins diving in the sea from the main pool.

The staff are so good especially Mrs. Chaitee, and the mauratian girl at the reception, the maldivian guy Mr Jawed, the Keralite beverage manager, Mr. Deepak, the delhi guy at the beach bar you guys are simply stunning.
Ms Dhiyam who welcomes you at the dining room is extremely superb in her job, she is so welcoming, yet very calm and patient. The fine dine restaurant especially the falhuma sets a benchmark in standards serving guests.
The nepali guys at the buggy are amazing in their job too. The whole team, is so hardworking and deserve an applause.

The food served is customized according to your taste, many restaurants, fine dine and buffet options and cuisines to indulge!!

The standard all inclusive package includes premium spirits, fine dine restaurants, and also mini bar replished every day.

The rooms are amazing and include hair combs to a coffee maker machine, every need is taken care with.

Each of our requests were catered with absolute care and attention.

Thank You guys for making our vacation amazing.

Greatful to you, may god bless!

Suggestions: Sunset water villas have really good views, you can swim and snorel except if it is monsoon and the sea is stormy, sunrise villas too are similar and are a better option if you are travelling during monsoon.
This is one of the most under rated resort in maldives for its beauty, options, staff and premium services it offers, it should surely come among the top 10.

Just home after a tremendous holiday. We were in a Lagoon Pool Villa (812), which was ideally placed in close proximity to the Lobby (Reception), The Dining Room (main buffet), the spa and only a short walk to the bridge to Falhumaafushi.
Villa facilities were excellent with the daily cleaning, minibar restocking being provided by lovely people. The lagoon pool villas are on the sunrise side of the resort and have direct sun until lunchtime.
We do not eat seafood of any description and have other dietary issues - no cheese, onions etc - so we accept that we narrow our dining options. This resulted (for us) in the buffet being very ‘samey’, but the staff were delightful and couldn’t do more to help. Book early to dine at Long Island and Falhumaa. The location of the latter is stunning and provided a truly memorable experience with the moon rising over the lagoon and the marine life drifting by a few metres below.
The staff throughout the resort, without exception, were superb. Polite, courteous and helpful.
We took advantage of the professional photo shoot option which offered a value for money package and has allowed us a fabulous momento of an unforgettable holiday.
One issue that the resort may wish to consider is access to the pool at the Lagoon Pool Villas. Whilst we accept that we were in an older age group than the average guest, some form of handgrip/rail for safety at the end of the pool would be helpful.
Another tip would be to pack plenty sun cream then put in an extra couple of bottles. You are warned that the shop prices are steep but $78 for 200ml of SPF30! The shop at Falhumaafushi appeared considerably cheaper than Dhigurah.
The return home to the UK was arduous as you have no control over the internal flight to Male. This meant 28 hours between checking out of room and landing at Glasgow. The 5 hour wait at Male was helped by the resort having you ushered into the lounge at the domestic terminal (as was the case on arrival).
In summary, an excellent resort with great facilities and staff. We booked through Luxtripper whose packages seemed to offer competitive prices.

Ii just returned from spending 6 days at the Residence Dhigurah with my family and I have to say that paradise really exists and it is there!
We stayed at 3 sunset villas and I have to say that the rooms were absolutely amazing! Huge and with all types of details. The bathrooms were luxurious and so big I have never seen anything alike, and beleive me, I have travelled a lot and visited great resorts!
The villas, all with their private pools, overlooked the most beautiful beach I have ever seen, with a great sense of privacy, it was really like a post card!
All villas had their own bikes which we used yo move around the resort or to visit the other Residence hotel separated by a stunning 1km bridge over the water.
It is definetily one of the best and most beautiful resorts I have ever visited.
On the down side, and I think probably due to the fact that the hotel is quite new, the service in some parts was extremely slow although the staff was mostly very nice. A special mention to Ifham at the main dining room and to all the staff at the sports center.
After a very long and tiring trip, the check in was extremely slow and frustrating.
At the restaurants, if you did not do the buffet plan , service was desperately slow (except for the Cantonese restaurant). I guess this is something that some more experience will be able to solve.
One suggestion: some sunbeds on the beach for each room would be very convenient, there are two sunbeds on each villa porch and none on the beach so if you want to use one on the beach, you have to move one and they are very heavy.

I am sad that I have to just mention a few little things
That I felt were not very good on this lovely island . We paid nearly £ 10.000 for this 10 night stay that was rebooked from last year for my sixtyith birthday . Overall the islands were beautiful but to only be able to use the restaurants once for our whole stay was very annoying considering what we had paid . The buffet was a little disappointing and was not 5 star quality. Sat watching the tables being cleaned I was shocked to see that they were only dusted off with a cloth and the table mat just turned over for the next person to use . I know everyone used the gel when they went in but what about when they come back out of the toilet. You can’t trust everyone to wash their hands . So this was not good to see . Staff were usually friendly but at breakfast they were not attentive and were slow to serve coffee and were not very friendly. When asked by the manager if we were happy with everything I mentioned this and all of a sudden they completely changed. Unfortunately they did not manage to keep this up . We had premium all inclusive and were able to order a bottle of wine a day in the room but you had to remember to do this and when I requested a sparkling rose’ I was told no only white sparkling, but it was available in the restaurants .
The walk in shower is deadly as it is very slippery and there is no slip mat in there so I had to stand on a towel as I didn’t want to fall and break a hip . They also get you to sign a disclaimer when you arrive and try and explain everything to you when you check in which is difficult to take in when you are very tired from travelling.
Overall we have experienced 4 star all inclusive all over the world and this buffet restaurant is a let down for 5 star. Also if you want a peaceful setting to eat then this island is not for you as there are a lot of children running around in the buffet so this made it feel more like a canteen. It was also sad to see how much food was wasted by some filling plates of fruit and not even touching it I won’t mention what nationality they were but there is no need to be greasy and waste food . The service and lack of being able to choose where we could eat in the evening badly let our holiday down . If you stay for 10 nights then you should.be allowed to book the the restaurants more.

We stayed here at the beginning of April for 11 nights as a group of 9 and 2 young babies. Our arrival was very smooth, we were met by a hotel representative at Male airport and shown to the departure lounge to wait for our plane to Kooddoo. Here we were picked up directly from the airport and taken to a speedboat for a short 5 minute ride to the island. We had a very warm welcome, quick check in and were allowed to our rooms despite us arriving much earlier then standard check in time.

Our first impression of the island was that it felt like being in a Disney film or Jurassic Park. The island is very tropical and all the trees and landscaping is very well kept. Transport around the island is either by buggy (the max time we waited for a buggy was 15 minutes) or bicycle. They have children’s bikes and baby seats.

The villas are a good size, beds are comfy, nicely decorated, everything you would need for a long stay. They have kettles and bottled water which was great for making baby bottles. The amazing thing about each villa is the view and private pool. We had both beach villas and over water villa. Each with their own perks, the beach villas are very private and are great for young children. The pool tends to be more shaded and there is direct access to the sea shore and hence shallow sea. We stayed on the sun set side of the island which I would recommend as the sea is calmer, you have the sun for longer and you can’t beat watching the sun set from your own pool.

There are a number of activities available. We would recommend snorkelling on the edge of the reef, jet skis, paddle boarding, kayaking and the dolphin cruise. The main pool on the island is also really nice for a change of scene and never had an issue getting a sun bed.

You can access the sister resort across the bridge. I would say the main pool on the other island was much busier and not as big.

There was a good choice of food at the restaurants. The Dining Room buffet had a different theme each night and despite it being a buffet there was fresh meat, seafood, pasta, rice etc cooked on demand in front of you. The Beach Cafe had great lunch options. The French and Italian restaurant offered more of a fine dining experience but they were still very child friendly.

We had a great time as the hotel is really lovely but the staff definitely made the trip that bit more special. Everyone was so welcoming and really accommodating of the babies. In particular our house keeping team Rishal and Musif kept our rooms really tidy and nothing was too much to ask. The staff in the Dining Room were also lovely, Sajith, Ziman, Deniya and Tuhin were so friendly and provided great service.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone, particularly those staying with children. It is definitely worth the travel time.

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted and taken to reception for check-in, we were then taken to our rooms via boogie where everything was explained to us. The room was enormous, and everything was excellently designed, the bed was ultra comfy and the views... you can never get bored of those marvellous Maldivian waters. The colour and the clarity is undescribable, weve been to Mexico, Thailand, Ibiza, Formentera and nothing comes even close to the Maldives.
The only thing I could complain about would be the lack of bedside and bathroom sink side electrical outlets.

We could have spent the whole stay on our rooms and it would have been almost perfect, but the stay was made even better thanks to the restaurants and bars, where the service provided by Mary, Thong and Afzal was truly exceptional (they remembered our preferences and were very warm and welcoming, always smiling with their eyes) and food was mostly excellent everywhere we went, especially food at Li Bai (Cantoneese restaurant) and Falhumaa (French restaurant).

The resort is on a 1km long island connected to another sister island falhumaafushi via a 1km long bridge where you can see baby sharks and rays and turtles from. The hotel provides you with bicycle to cycle around the island and snorkeling gear with life vests to snorkel around if you are up for it you can do some free of charge watersports like kayaking, sailing or played water activities like waterski, wakeboard, bananaboat or scubadiving. We ended up doing a 90 min jetski tour and had the luck to have a group of like 50 or 60 dolphins swimming around us. I wasn't very fond of the idea of scubadiving, but my wife managed to convince me to do the Dicover Scubadiving experience and I am so grateful she did, it is one of the most amazing things i have experienced. I would like to especially thank Ahmed who was an excellent instructor, took excellent care of us and made us feel safe at all times.

I would recommend for people to try to prepare their PADI scuba license to get in contect with the hotel and plan it so u do the theory and confined water dives before arriving and complete the open water dives at the resort.

I am jus so sad i couldn't stay longer on paradise. Will be back for sure!

My husband and I recently spent 10 days here for our anniversary. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful vacation spot or kinder staff on the premises. The Falhumaa restaurant was one of the highlights of our stay. Ashfaag, Ahmed, and the staff who hosted our cooking class truly made our dining experiences memorable and delicious. The customer service, atmosphere, and food was outstanding all over the resort!! The diving center staff made it easy and convenient for me to get scuba certified and my dive teacher Ahmed was patient, knowledgeable, and a delight to work with. The reef was beautiful to dive and snorkel, and accommodations were spotless and beautiful. We felt exceptionally well cared for throughout our stay and cannot recommend staying at this location enough. Additionally, when leaving the resort, the staff facilitated a quick and easy PCR test which was definitely a plus since we had to depart back to Hawaii which required a certain kind of test. Thanks again to everyone at the Residence who made our stay memorable!!!

The premium all inclusive also includes tapas once if my memory serves me right. If you are not staying over a week, premium all inclusive might be a little bit too much.
