Paid 32 euro for a room, got about 20 euro worth of quality. The staff was very nice, but the room was only okay. The beds were pretty uncomfortable, there was no TV, the wifi in the room was super weak, and the shower was dripping constantly. The bathroom itself was very small with just a shower head on the...

This hotel is perched right by the ferry dock and has great views of the sea the ferries and all the people finishing the Samaria Gorge walk. The staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms are basic with small balconies. This hotel reminds me of Greek standard hotel rooms back in the 1990's two beds pushed together, a tiny bathroom...

Hotel Tarra was an excellent place from which to explore the main Samaria gorge and the other untouristy gorge, as well as the beaches. The room was clean and bright, well air-conditioned and comfortable. Andreas is a kind and caring host who is happy to suggest local places to visit. The breakfast is great; try the yoghurt with fig jam...

We had moussaka which was the worst I've ever tasted, even outside Greece. I think it was made some time before and just kept warm, which is something you expect from McDonald's, not...

Lovely hotel, the real Cretan hospitality! Try also the food at the taverna? Especially the meat with yoghurt, definitely something you have not tasted before! We highly recommend the area for trekking as well swimming and relaxation. It combines it all. When there do not omit to walk the Samaria gorge, once of a life time experience!!!

We intended to pass by Agia Roumeli but had to wait for the boat. We ended at the terras of hotel Tarra, it has a splendid view over the sea. We ordered fish, and were asked to come down to the fresh caught fish from that morning and to choose the one we liked. Lovely. The Stavroudakis family is verry friendly...
