A very welcoming hotel, coming off the boat from Loutro. The owner immediately helped with our luggage, offered us a drink & had our bags taken up to our room. The pebble beach isn't great but Agia Roumeli is at the end of the Samarium Gorge so by lunchtime is starts to get busy, then at 5.30 both the ferries...

Excellent lunch after boat ride to Loutros. Lots of fresh vegetables and grilled fish afterwards so what a healthy diet. Staff really friendly and after the bill and a raki you can have a nice swim and siesta before the boat leaves again

Where should I start? This is the third time we visited Crete and the third time we stopped in Agia Roumeli at Calypso Hotel. Definitely not the last. It is our home away from home. We spend about two thirds of our (fairly) long vacations here trekking and Agia Roumeli is where we take a break to rest sore feet...

The best hotel on Cretes westcoast!! Very devoted owners who do their best to make your stay pleasant. The food is excellent, a big variety of Cretan cooking. But also pasta and pizza. Very close to the brach. The restaurant has a big terrace owerlooking the sea.

First of all , the hotel is almost twenty steps from the beach , and from supermarket and tourist shop! The room we stayed in was small but cute . Basic services but clean and tidy . Furthermore the stuff is really kind and helpful , very friendly and open hearted . The owner is a middle aged man running...

We spent two days in Hotel Calypso while hiking from Chora Sfakion to Paleochora. The rooms are tiny, the staff was always friendly and attentive. They even managed the transport of bags to the next location, althougt it was n't planned. The food was great too. The Greek salad is made of vegetables from the house owned garden. The restaurant...

I walked the Samaria Gorge while my wife went here by bus and boat. I thought it would take me about 5 hours, but it took 7, due to resting, photographing and nursing blisters etc. My wife was getting a bit worried before I arrived, but the father of the family who own the hotel was very helpful and reassuring,...

My girlfriend and I had a spectacular 2 night stay at Hotel Calypso. We took the late ferry (7pm) from Loutros and decided on Calypso based off a guidebook recommendation (Rough Guides). We didn't have a reservation, but were welcomed warmly and had no issues whatsoever when we unexpectedly extended our stay for a second night. In addition to the...

My greeting, on arrival, was warm and welcoming. I was treated with great kindness while I was waiting for my husband to arrive from walking the Samaria Gorge. The service was unobtrusive yet attentive, almost intuitive, particularly from Antonis. And the delicious food home cooked and authentic. It is the perfect place to relax and recover. We would definitely like...
