Excellent cooking, excellent local ingredients, excellent plates served in a familiar atmosphere. Try the Lamb and the saganaki (local) cheese (not the standard feta!). All meat is nice as well, we had almost all of the kinds.

Omalos is a short few kilometers away from the Samaria Gorge entrance therefore we opted to stay here. It is not meant to be a luxurious stay but the staff was very friendly and all the necessary amenities were available. Just know that the hot water takes a couple minutes to warm up (which the front desk tells you about)... More

Well, I couldn't be happier. The location at 1000m in a secluded place is just what I need for my hiking trips. If you like adventure, like the Samaria gorge or mountains like Gigilos; and if you need decent food after a long day on your feet the this hotel (or the othe two 5 mins along the road) are... More

This is a great wee place to stay, if you want to hike, or to walk The Samaria Gorge, or if like us, you just want to stay up in a village in the white mountains to experience the atmosphere and way of life. It is in the village of Omalous, which consists of a few tavernas, a church, and... More

“We stayed in room 8, which was a corner room. I think all the rooms would have great mountain views, but maybe if you don't want a room over the Tavena area, ask for a room at the side or back of the hotel”
