Really don't know where to begin when describing this wonderful accommodation!
Sue and John have found this idyllic spot where they offer bed and breakfast accommodation which takes up most of the top floor of this converted barn, comprising of a large room with four poster bed and living area with sofa, tv and chaise longue. From this room are wonderful views of the gardens and sea from the many windows. You won't need to take any reading material as there are many interesting books to choose from. Make sure you look at the red photo album showing how John transformed an old barn into this delightful residence. The large bathroom not only has a large bath but also a larger than normal separate shower.
Breakfast is taken either in your bedroom or if weather permits outside on the patio area. Sue and John share the cooking which is superb, some of the produce being "home grown." The location of this accommodation is wonderful if you are looking to have a relaxed, stress free break. An approximate 50 yard walk to the bottom of the garden will take you to St Loy Cove, which is reputed to be the warmest cove in the United Kingdom. If you want to feel as if you have a cove all to yourself then this is for you.
We didn't use our car much throughout our stay, preferring to walk along the coastal footpath to nearby Porthcurno. This footpath can be found at the bottom of the garden so whilst convenient for those staying there, cannot be seen from the house. The walk to Porthcurno takes in some stunning scenery. If you don't fancy the walk back you can speak to either Sue or John about a pick up. We arranged to call them when we were ready for "home." Of course you could just stay relaxing in the grounds or at the cove, coming back for Sue's home baked quiches, cakes and cream teas. How we wished we'd had time to do everything!
We only stayed for two nights but could so easily have stayed for much longer. It's not just all of the above which makes this place so special but also the finishing touches combined with the fact that you really feel like part of the family. What wonderful, thoughtful hosts and what a find. We shall be back but for longer next time.

I first visited Cove Cottage in the early days whilst walking the South West Coastal Path I stopped and had tea and scones on the patio overlooking the sea. Cove Cottage is in a sublimely beautiful location situated in a valley with a stream running alongside the garden with garden and stream both finishing at the sea edge surrounded by woods and steep hills. Access to the cottage is challenging which makes it even better because it makes it more remote and untouched its like leaving the world behind. My wife and I have stayed with John and Sue on a number of occasions and every time we go back the care taken by them both to ensure our stay is unforgettable and memorable is very much appreciated. The accommodation is extraordinary with everything in it chosen to make your stay relaxing and comfortable with views that take your breath away. Breakfasts are vast in quantity and quality and memorable we have had breakfast on the patio in blazing sunshine in February overlooking the ocean. Sue and John are beautiful people in a beautiful place and in some respects I am reluctant to say how marvelous a place it is because I do not want other people to go there I want it all to Helen and myself. When you are there you never want to leave and its hard to describe how stunning a place and location it is.

This place ticked all of the boxes for our romantic anniversary getaway to Cornwall. We wanted a place by the sea - check. You can see the sea from two of the bedroom windows. We wanted a place to have dinner at as well - check. Susan is a gourmet chef and served us 3-course meals every night with even a palate cleanser of Cornish Yarg cheese in between and tea or coffee with chocolates afterwards. We were so full and now need a diet! We wanted a beautiful spacious room with a private bathroom - check. The room is gorgeous with a generous queen size four poster bed. The bed is very comfortable with a Vi-spring mattress (have to get one of those now!). Photo's do no do this place justice! The shower is very powerful with a rain shower head. It was pure luxury to stand under it with unlimited hot water it seemed. Big enough for two people as well. The separate bathtub is also huge. Dinner was served by candelight in our room but breakfast was served in the lovely sunny conservatory off the kitchen which overlooks the beautiful grounds down to the sea. The grounds are absolutely immaculate even despite the recent storm they've had. Susan and her husband John are avid gardeners. John grows all of their vegetables whilst Susan forte is her beautiful botanical gardens. For those needing their exercise after those wonderful meals there is a beautiful costal path that runs right past their property. Susan and John made us feel right at home and nothing was too much trouble. They've been doing this for roughly 20 years or so, so are highly experienced in the hospitality trade. John even gave us freshly picked daffodils to take home with us. I can't recommend this place highly enough and I would challenge anyone to find a better B&B in all of Cornwall.

We were only able to stay one night at Cove Cottage, as they were booked before and after us, but it was a delightful one night. On arrival Sue sat us down in the garden for a cream tea overlooking the ocean, and some basking sharks appeared close offshore, and stayed for hours. The room was a delight, with windows on three sides and a most comfortable bed and luxurious bath and shower across the hall. The guest suite includes the whole upper floor of this beautifully restored barn. We walked from the cottage along the coastal path to a village pub for dinner, overwhelmed by the beauty of the cliffs, the water, and the wildflowers. Breakfast was a delight, and the morning garden full of subtropical plants in full bloom. The Whites have found a bit of paradise in St. Loy, and I'm very glad they are willing to share it with guests. We'll definitely return, though it's at the top end of our budget.

Had a wonderful 2 nights here, such a shame we didn't have more time to spend. The cottage is beautiful as is the garden, leading down to the sea. Sue and John were very welcoming, not forgetting Sandy the little golden spaniel. She ran out to greet us every time we arrived back from a day out, loved her!
The location is great, we visited a good few places in the two days we were here including Mousehole, the Minnak Theatre, Lands End and St Michael's Mount.
It is the kind of place you dream of escaping the city to. Packing up your job, leaving London and moving to the sea. Fresh air, no people, no noise, greenery everywhere. Absolutely beautiful.
We are in awe of the wonderful life you have built here, and can only thank you for opening up your home so that others can enjoy it just as much!

Living in Leicestershire this B&B is a long drive but well worth it. And if "out of the way" is your bag this is it. Even if "out of the way" doesn't do it for you then you should try this place. Near to the end of the world (Land's End) and beyond Penzance this B&B is well away from the beaten track. Once found it is hard to work out what kept you from here in the first place. The gardens are lovely although suffering from their first frost in four years when we got there, The garden goes all the way down to the SW Coast Path and the shore. The views along the shoreline are impressive and if you have decent camera remember to pack it. The house has only one suite upstairs with a large bedroom including a seating area and a large bathroom. Given the isolation there is good TV reception and a choice of DVDs if not venturing out. At night the darkness is almost complete with little light pollution meaning that the stars are bright and much more numerous than is believable. For the restless there is the night ferry gliding past the cove toward Ireland to watch. Breakfast is a feast of local produce, homemade jam and marmalade and freshly cooked hot dishes. Stay here! You won't regret it.

We drove 4 miles to our short break at Cove Cottage. We could have driven 4,000 and not been disappointed. Having some experience in the hospitality industry, we know how hard it is to get it right. Sue and John get it very right. From a warm welcome, to a sumptuous room and luxurious bathing, to a breakfast spread which would not be out of place on a 5* hotel table. This is all delivered with genuine warmth and great attention to detail without being fussy or intrusive on privacy or freedom. The gardens are a delight and the views across the ocean endless. Book early to avoid disappointment.

"This is literally a place from heaven; views to die for; accommodation that is outstanding both in terms of comfort and views; breakfasts that could not be surpassed (and we've stayed in lots of places globally). Sue and John White are tremendous hosts - that rare and wonderful mix of knowledgeable, friendly, generous but not imposing. This is a location that is almost as far as you can go on the south-west English mainland and, similarly as close to perfection as possible."

I've never been so comfortable in a B&B. Anywhere. Physically and Socially. Sue and John are generous in the small details of shortbread with the tea, luxury robes, lamps and table surfaces to settle in. Then there's the large room, undivided, looking over sea and gardens, oriental carpeted, lovely appointments, fine, fine linen and a gorgeous bed and bath. The location is idyllic for walkers, thinkers, artists, a place to get away and surround yourself with nature. I found it by studying Google maps, looking at the geology, where would a good place be to study? St. Loy. Study a map before you go. Don't rely on GPS. Keep going even when you think it isn't possible for a beautiful house and garden with woods, trails and rock beach front to be any further. Sue and John know how to keep the perfect balance as supportive hosts with a sense of privacy. I really enjoyed our brief, frequent chats about the area. Already looking forward to our next stay. The walks are astonishing, fuelled by Eggs Benedict and fresh squeezed OJ. No one does it better.

You cannot say too much about Cove Cottage and Sue and John. I found this perfect place whilst walking the coast path and vowed to return. It was better than the memory had allowed it to become. The whole experience is just perfect from start to finish and everything will be better than you can reasonably expect it to be. And if your a rugby fan be sure to take time to chat to John!
