Bridies Barn one of the holiday cottages exceeded all expectations, it's a truely gorgeous place to stay. Carolyn and Richard are wonderful hosts and they have thought of everything, even things you didn't realise would be useful like candles! The finish and interior decor is of an extremely high quality and it felt like a five star hotel. The underfloor heating is dreamy and opening the patio doors to such a beautiful view each morning was really special. We slept really well in such a peaceful location and the bed is huge and comfy!
Location wise it's really central to get to St Ives and Penzance. The real gem is local beach Porthcurno, we were the only ones on there with a glass of fizz and that was a real treat. There are some great coastal walks and bike routes.
In regards to covid hygiene we were the first guests since lockdown and we felt so safe, Bridies barn was super clean and had the appropriate provisions and instructions, without feeling like we were in a pandemic.
The cream tea on arrival was gorgeous. We plan to return again as fell in love with this hidden gem which is Bridies Barn. Thankyou to Carolyn and Richard for a
special stay which will have a place in our hearts and memories. Lauren and Nick x

This is the best B & B we have stayed in so far in the UK.
Carolyn is an amazing host - so friendly, kind and very informative. Room was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Breakfasts - stupendous.
Such a wonderful part of the country too and we will return hopefully next year, which is a first for us.
Thanks for helping to make our holiday Carolyn

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Downs Barn Farm St. Buryan. Room very comfortable and stylish and bed super deluxe with lovely linen. The breakfasts were superb. Fresh eggs every day from the Farm and beautifully cooked by Carolyn. Several different options on the menu. Private sitting room for B and B guests with comfortable sofas and TV. Such a beautiful part of the world and so much to do locally of interest. A charming family who were kind and welcoming. I recommend Downs Barn Farm very highly. Such an imaginative place in such a gorgeous spot. The dogs were lovely too!. A wonderful week to remember and we are hoping to return next year. I miss those incredible breakfasts!!. Thank you Carolyn for making the week so special and making us so welcome and comfortable on your beautiful Farm. St. Buryan and Lamorna really are heaven on earth. So much creativity around. Lovely light and ocean. Sweet smelling and fragrant Cornwall at it's best. We feel refreshed. Thanks again. Clare and John.

Our second visit. The host Carolyn cannot do enough to help. We stayed in Bridie's Barn this time, which was well appointed, comfortable and modern. The facilities are all great, the decor is amazing and we will definitely be going back!

Four nights at Downs Barn Farm were not enough! Charming rural setting on a real working farm, comfortably appointed rooms and gourmet breakfasts: what else could one desire? Well, there's a lot more, starting with some of the planet's most picturesque walks, friendly pubs, and charming villages. But most of all there is the attention and hospitality that Carolyn affords all of her guests. Whether it's information about parking in St. Ives or the best way to walk across the fields for dinner at the St. Buryan Inn, she will help with a smile. If you are going to Penwith, stay with her!

I am prevented from giving an Excellent review due to the price, we have stayed in excellent B&B's at Falmouth and Bugle that were every bit as good for £70 and found £100 to be over the top. However, parts of our stay were excellent i.e. the welcome from Carolyn and the dogs, the cream tea, the breakfast and the cleanliness. The downside was the approach to the farmhouse.

Thank you for taking the time to give us a review, it was a pleasure to welcome you and your friends to the farm. I would hope that we give good value for money and we are proud of being one of the few farmhouses in Cornwall with a VisitEngland 5 star grading with gold award and breakfast award. Delighted that you enjoyed the complimentary homemade cream tea on arrival, your breakfasts and the warm welcome from Belle & Rolo, they do love a bit of attention! For guests information we are a working farm producing beef cattle and potatoes. We are fortunate to be in a peaceful location with a good tarmac entrance lane, far reaching views and just a thirty minute walk to the sea.

Just had a two week stay in Skylarks, from the moment you walk in you can see and feel the care and attention that has been lavished on its creation. Spacious, stylish, welcoming and packed with everything you could possibly need. Its the little things sometimes that make the difference, like the cooler bag provided but when you open it inside are two picnic plates and knives and forks. Everything about it was absolutely of the highest quality, and the bed....if we could have got it in the car we would!! Due to its location, being tucked out of the way, yet only 30mins from Lands End, Sennenen cove and Penzance it is so peaceful and tranquil, even as a working farm. The sunsets and star filled skys at night are just incredible. On a more practical note we found that Morrisons offered the best value for shopping. We loved Porthcurno and please go to the Telegraph Museum there, sound so boring but it will amaze you. All I will say is that without it I would not be posting this review! Well worth a visit is Porth Leven, Marazion, St Michaels Mount and Sennen cove. If you do go to Porth Leven get up on to the costal walk and some 500 mtrs is a bench with the most spectacular views, we even caught the dolphins. Also worth a visit at Porth Leven is Waves Surf Art Gallery, some stunning work at really sensible money.
To close we can only agree with other reviews in respect of Carolyn and Richard's hospitality, so welcoming and friendly yet not in your face, there if you need them, a welcome smile and chat as your paths cross but very much in the background. Also on our last day had a farmhouse breakfast cooked by Carolyn, didn't eat another thing till 8pm!! Warning! they do have three dogs on the farm, Belle, Rolo and Abel. Even if you do not have nor like dogs I defy you not to end up loving them. It goes like this, Belle and Rolo, tummy tickles and cuddles, Abel, stick throw, stick throw (dont worry he will bring the stick to you) and then tummy tickles.
