If you are looking for a quiet, remote place to stay with comfortable beds yet close to Capitol Reef this is it. We stayed here a second time in two years with the kids and had a very pleasant time. It was a great base...More
Clean, comfortable, and quiet accommodations close to Capitol Reef and lots of other hiking spots. There arent many food optioons nearby, but the lobby is stocked with frozen meals and snacks. The hosts alone make a stop here worthwhile!
Mountains behind you, mountains in front of you, no cell phone service..if you are traveling in the SW for nature like me, this is the perfect setup! Capitol reefs is 10 miles down and the scenic drive starts at their footsteps. The hotel management is...More

The closest restaurant is Luna Mesa but it was closed at the time I was there because of mud. there was a big storm which rained a lot. Luna Mesa should be open now. Next choice is to head east to a little town called Hanksville. I believe there are three restaurants to choose from. I do not recommend going west to Torrey because of the distance.
