We were in the area taking our mother to the town her grandfather was born and spend one glorious night at this majestic beauty. First let me say the staff here is 5 star. I've stayed at some of the top hotels in the world and IMHO the staff here gives them all a run for their money. Francesca is... More

If you're visiting Italy you should seriously consider adding Parma and Castello Di Compiano to your itinerary. We started at Venice and then took a train to Parma (food tours at small cheese, wine, vinegar and ham producers), rented a car and stopped by this castle on our way to Cinque Terra (which is totally skippable unless you plan on... My husband, daughter and I just had the privilege of staying in this beautiful property. Not only are the building and surrounding town stunningly beautiful, but the staff go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. They were so friendly and helpful, it's almost as if we were old friends, rather than first time guests. In addition, the restaurant... More

In October I was told that another booking had been accepted for one of the days I had booked and confirmed. After weeks where I did not get... More

My family is from the valley and I can remember looking at this castle from the road below during vacations many times while growing up. So it was a treat to stay here with my family for three nights recently. The service was excellent and very friendly, these are some lovely people who seem to enjoy what they do. The... More

Castello do Compiano I visited Castello de Compiano for my sons wedding. I was apprehensive about the site, as I can not drive now and the hotel is in a small town in the beautiful northern Campagna country. After negotiating the Italian trains, I arrived at the local train station and there was a driver from the Castello waiting for... More

I went to the Castello for a wedding and stayed or 5 days. The location is remote but stunning and the views are spectacular. The room was simple and elegant although I would have liked more drawer space.

This 1100 year old castle is staffed by an amazing group of people. Very Friendly, and passionate about the castello and its history. We didn't speak any Italian except Bon journo, and grazie. The staff didn't speak much English except for the basics but this didn't prevent us from being able to communicate. They went beyond the call of duty... More
