We stayed in early March and had the most idyllic holiday. This is an exclusive small resort superbly located in a cove on the island of raya 30mins from the Sabah cost and Kota Kinabalu. A private boat takes you to the resort. Our beach side villa with its own plunge-pool was a delight as were the resort's restaurants and... More

This is a really difficult review to right because it was so closes between a 4 and a 5 star. So put like this. It is a 5 star resort in Malaysia. It is a 4 star if you put it in somewhere like the Maldives or Samui. So to start off Checkin- Check in was an easy and and... More

After 20 years of holiday experience in Asia, I've finally found my dream tropical holiday destination. Bunga Raya is located on the rainforest island of Pulau Gaya ( 30 minutes speedboat from Kota Kinabalu) encircled by a crystal clear azure waters, with a reef teeming with delights. Bunga Raya is naturalist's dream, perfect for Nat Geo fans & families with... More

The setting is glorious, the resort spans a small bay with a full length white sandy beach and lush green rainforest behind. We stayed in a plunge pool villa which was equally gorgeous, large, lovely decor, big bathroom with large bath and shower, and set right on beach. We loved the room and couldn't have asked for any more. The... More

Dear Leesa P, Thank you for your feedback you are right we are very fortunate with our pristine setting. I read with interest your difficulty in booking recreational activities. We always advise, during the busy times that in order to avoid disappointment any spa and dive activities should be booked in advance. Jungle trekking with our nature guides are on... More

The place is beautiful. The views from our room were amazing, we could have gazed from the balcony all day. There is excellent snorkeling just off the beach. The pool is a good size, and the beach is perfect. It was great fun trying out sea kayaking and paddle boarding (at no extra cost). The staff are plentiful and very... More

Breathtaking setting, surrounded by the most wonderful colours and gorgeous flowers. Snorkelling is spectacular, and there are lots of activities to keep you occupied. Make sure to book a jungle trek with a guide ahead of time. First time in my life that I haven't been cold diving! Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and the beach was nice and clean. But... More

We stayed here in June for the first few nights of our honeymoon and it was just perfect. We had a plunge pool villa (number 9) which was very spacious and although facing the beach it was still very private. The villas are quite rustic, but that's what makes this resort so beautiful. They are all built sympathetically into and... More

We stayed here for three nights to charge our batteries after our wedding and before heading into the jungle. (Worth doing to get over jet lag and acclimatise to the humidity as it is quite hard going). It's a really lovely setting. The food is good and there's enough to do for a few days if you get twitchy feet.... More

We havent stay at this resort but took the advantage of visiting as guests of the sister resort - Gayanna Eco Resort. We loved the white sandy private beach and their pool - the staff gave us the best attention.

What a great resort. From the moment you arrive at the jetty, the staff are nothing short of fantastic. The setting is magical. We had a beach villa with a plunge pool, perfect for relaxing with a good book and just reveling in the tropical setting. We did the zip line and the canopy walk both of which were good... More
