Gwen and Neil were wonderful hosts. The separate house you stay at is a very comfortable home with lots of windows to look over the countryside and their Farm. It truly is a farm stay. During our stay cattle were moved between paddocks, we were able to watch from the outside patio their dogs manage the cattle through. We were...

We travelled New Zealand for a month on honeymoon and this really was one of the favourite places we stayed on the trip. It's lovely to get off the tourist trail and get a taste of the real New Zealand and Gwen and Neil were incredibly welcoming. My husband is a farmer in the UK and Neil gave us a...

We spent two nights at the Ludlow Farmstay. Neil and Gwen White are lovely people who are very welcoming. Staying in their cottage and taking a farm tour with Neil gave us at least a small sense of the farming life that has been such a huge part of New Zealand. Dinner with them (an extra but well worth it)...

Stayed here in October for two nights, two of us and four dogs! (had a dog agility champ in Waipukurau that weekend). A fantastic experience - our hosts could NOT have been more obliging and we couldn't think of one more thing Gwen could have provided in the cottage. Special mention has to go to the homemade bread - far...

We could not have had a better experience at Neil & Gwynns cottage - they had thought of everything from chocolates on the pillows to fresh home made bread each morning. I don't know if it is standard but the fridge contained all sorts of goodies that appear to have been made on-farm (eggs / bacon / jams etc). The...

We stayed for 2 nights. On the first evening we chose to have dinner with Neil and Gwen. We were served a delicious roasted lamb and homemade blueberry roulade. The cottage is very well equipped and the beds and bedding are better than any hotel I've stayed in. We toasted marshmallows on the fire and the kids fed the lambs...

Three generations of us had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in this comfortable and cozy farm cottage. Neil's farm tour is a great way of learning how a smart, innovative mixed cropping and grazing farm works. And Gwen goes the extra mile (or five) in the cottage - all the breakfast ingredients you could need or want, fresh flowers, home-made bread...

We stayed here for 3 nights during easter 2014 and enjoyed the serene surroundings amidst cows and sheeps. Definitely recommended if you have young kid. We found the place pretty safe and very warm. Gwen and Neil are nice people and are always willing to share their knowledge. Our daughter enjoyed playing with the dogs. Do not miss paper mulberry...

We stayed 3 nights over Easter 2013. The restored cottage was very nice. Well insulated so cool in the day yet remained warm at night. Very comfortable for our family of 5. Well appointed, beautiful fresh linen. No trouble with insects due to auto insect spry dispenser. Still close enough to Napier (about 35-40 mins) and Hastings to enjoy all...

Thank you for your kind words, sorry I wasn't here to make you the fresh bread each day, and the fresh flowers I pick from my garden and have in every room for my guests. A special thanks to my daughter for looking after you whilst we were away on vacation.

Nice enough property - lovely staying on the farm - but we weren't prepared for the mosquitoes! I managed to kill 16 in one night. And those are just the ones I caught. But we enjoyed the friendly horse and going for a stroll on the property. The place isn't fancy but nice anyway.

Sorry you had a problem with mosquitos, that is quite unusual - each year in the spring we have the Farmstay, our own home and all Farm buildings sprayed for flys, insects, bugs and spiders. If they come inside they usually die fairly quickly. Sure if lights are on and windows are open moths will come inside, and again they...
