Ettington Park Hotel, the only AA 4 Red Star hotel in Stratford-Upon-Avon, is set in 40 acres of parkland in a verdant valley with the River Stour meandering through it. Situated just six miles from the centre of the famed home of Shakespeare and just a few miles from the start of The Cotswold Way, this spectacular property is a world apart from the hustle and bustle of contemporary life. Built from six types of Cotswold stone, Ettington Park is furnished with fine paintings and decorated with friezes that trace its centuries of tradition and heritage. This is a country house where historic extravagance meets contemporary comfort.

To all the staff at Ettington who looked after me and Katrina I would like to say a huge thank you!!! Damien, Beth, Joan (housekeeper), Cliff, Rosa and Chris P. Were all excellent and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. It was that good we are going again in November for another 2 nights. I can not wait and look forward to seeing all the staff who made our stay so special again!!!

We have stayed at quite a few Handpicked hotels over the past few years but Ettington Park for us topped the lot (about 6 in total) that we have stayed at. From the moment we were checked into the hotel by the delightful Patricia and was so welcoming and a fun young lady also had a smile on her face. Rosalia the Operations Manager helped us to book our dinners for the two nights we stayed. We had asked for a quiet Room which we certainly got we never heard a sound all night. We were celebrating our Wedding Anniversary and in our Room was a Bottle of Prosecco lovely biscuits sweet treats and a lovely candle and toiletries with a card welcoming us it was a lovely surprise. On our first night we had a drink from the small lounge bar before going into the very grand restaurant the Barman Adelle was on his first night and he went out of his way to make sure he served us the right drinks he was a delightful young man, we had several chats with him during our stay and he made us feel very welcome. We used the Spa which was very quiet on our first day with only us in there which was lovely it was very clean and lots of fresh clean towels to use along with toiletries etc. The food both at breakfast (served by Judith another lovely member of the team) and the 2 evening meals we had were very nice served on nice hot plates and nothing too much trouble the staff were all very helpful and welcoming. The grounds are beautiful to wonder round we were lucky the weather was very nice when we stayed there is plenty of parking which is a big bonus. Rosalia made sure she spoke to us before we left and said we were welcome back anytime her and the staff are a credit to Hand Picked Hotels and we will definitely return soon. Thank you to all the staff sorry can't remember all their names and the amazing chefs which we didn't meet.

We arrived here late after having to check out of a disaster hotel called the Mercure Walton hall, we called through having nowhere to stay and the gent we spoke to on the phone was literally our saviour! He managed to squeeze us in even though it was 11:30pm, and got us a twin room me and a colleague were travelling for a work event. When we arrived I knew that this was the hotel for us! Free roaming deer on the drive through the grounds, we pulled up at reception and the lovely Damon greeted us with a smile and a firm handshake and took our bags from us having known our traumatic experience at the other hotel!! He got us checked in and walked us to our room with our bags, nothing was too much trouble for him! The room was absolutely amazing, even down to the fact that they provided it works pillow spray for the bed and a bottle of Milk for a coffee!! We had the best nights sleep! In the morning the place just got better and we could appreciate in daylight just how stunning this hotel is! Breakfast was another level, I ordered the vegetarian breakfast and I would say it’s the best I have ever had! Made all the better by the waitress who literally made our day I didn’t get her name but she was from Northern Ireland what a lady! She made our day, so much fun laughing and having a joke (even a dance and a song!) a bundle of joy! We checked out and Damon was there again I mean does this guy not go home! Carrying our bags to the car and thanking us for staying, erm… no.. THANKYOU Damon you superstar! I literally didn’t want to leave and I will definitely be returning to this hotel for a weekend to explore the beautiful grounds, have a laugh with my new Irish friend and maybe this time get to sample the swimming pool and jacuzzi! It’s a must, if you are contemplating a stay at this hotel….don’t just book it you won’t be disappointed.

We had a fantastic three night stay at Ettington Park. We loved the building and its location, our room and the food. The spa was excellent. There were some things that really impressed us beyond the things you'd expect from a hotel of this quality. Firstly, the staff we met were exemplary whether they worked front of house, in the restaurant, in the grounds or maintaining the building. Without exception they were friendly and helpful and they clearly enjoyed working at Ettington Park. Staff were efficient and professional but there was a relaxed and informal atmosphere and we were made to feel welcome by everyone we met. Secondly, the modest size of Ettington Park creates a country house feel where guests see the same staff members often and we feel service is enhanced as a result. In large hotels guests and staff are usually anonymous to each other. Finally, there was great attention to detail, the lack of which can let down even prestige hotels. For example the grounds were kept immaculately - grass was cut, leaves were swept up and furniture was neatly arranged. This creates a great first impression which is continued throughout the hotel.

We booked Ettington Park as a surprise stay on the way up to Liverpool from a Premier Inn in London for our Australian cousin who was visiting for the first time since he emigrated 60 years ago. We had told him it was a little bed and breakfast we knew and we had also arranged for some other relatives to meet us as a surprise. Ettington were great and arranged for us all to have adjacent rooms, which were supposed to be classic rooms but we were not sure if we had been upgraded as they were so nice. The lounge and dining rooms have been swapped since we were last here and at first we weren't sure if it was a good idea but after having a meal, we thought it works as the new dining room is very impressive and the new lounge is comfortable and cosy, just right for a few drinks Our cousin was very impressed with the building and grounds as they don't have anything like it is Australia and also how the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had an evening meal which we all enjoyed followed by the cooked breakfast. I'm told that our cousin is still smiling about his visit to the UK and the stay at Ettington certainly created some happy memories for him.

Perfect venue in every way! We had the MOST wonderful wedding weekend here! From start to finish it was perfect for us & full of little unexpected, personal touches that really excelled the experience! The whole staff team were brilliant.. prior to the stay & couldn’t do enough to make our everyone’s stay amazing once the stay came! The hotel is just beautiful.. we booked 6 rooms for family members and every room was highly praised & very much enjoyed by us all! We also made use of the library (felt like we had sole use of it for the three days - which was wonderful!) swimming pool (perfect way to keep the kids entertained) and loved spending time in the beautiful surroundings (pretty ruins/walks/lawn games to play). Everything ran smoothly on our special day & we truly felt like VIPs! We had a private evening meal… two breakfasts.. and a 4course wedding meal and all were delicious and couldn’t be faulted in any way! The bar staff were attentive and very skilful - we put in some rather random requests between us and never once got rejected 😅 They were fantastic at blending their own mixes to create the things we’d asked for! Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful escape.. good food.. comfy bed & stunning hotel/grounds!!! Also… any couple looking for the ideal wedding venue… look no further!! 😊 Thanks all who made it so perfect! Mr & Mrs Francis 😍

From being greeted at the front door to leaving the front door you will not be disappointed. The high level of service is missing in the industry at the moment, not at Ettington park hotel though. Special mention to Damien.

Let me start by talking about the look of Ettington Park. Well, it is quite literally stunning!! Set in amongst some tall, ancient evergreens at the end of a tree-lined drive, it is really a hidden gem in the Warwickshire countryside. I love the gothic styling of the building and I find the many freezes on the exterior of the building, absolutely fascinating. There are extensive grounds for a lovely walk...and you might just run into a wild deer on the grounds of the ruined church. I did!! The staff are wonderful...super helpful and cannot do enough for you. I cannot recommend Ettington Park anymore highly.

I have just returned from a wonderful 3 night break at what has been the best Hotel I have stayed in. The staff were simply amazing and nothing was too much for trouble for them whether it was for us or the dogs. They clearly adore dogs and go out of their way to spoil them and the grounds were so lovely and very well looked after. The rooms were lovely (dog friendly) and the small health area was just the job. Food was outstanding both breakfast and dinner and always served with a joke and a smile. I am keen to try some of the other hand picked hotels now - can’t recommend enough.

I am *almost* hesitant to write this rave review because I want to keep this spectacular hotel all to myself. My husband and I stayed here for two nights and honestly during our next trip to England, I plan to cancel everything else and just stay here and do nothing else but exist at the Ettington Park. If this hotel were a woman, should wouldn't have a bad side and could never take a bad picture. The building is stunning. Our meals were...incredible. I could easily eat here for the rest of my life and die happy. One of my actual fantasies during our stay was seeing if there is a retirement home option so I could live here forever. I am 37. Seems like reasonable planning. From reception to wait staff, everyone was delightful and exceedingly helpful, and fun! 100/10 recommend.
