We stayed for just one night and had a wonderful time. The food is superb. We had the venison and the pork and both were cooked to perfection by Steve. Jackie is a lovely host and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was really good - nothing bad to say and we will certainly be back!

This has to be one of the best country inns in England. If not Britain. The new owner's , Steve and Jackie have kept up the fabulous tradition of serving fantastic and quality food every single time. From start to finish our Mother's day lunch was nothing short of wonderful. I had called ahead to book and mentioned nan was in a wheelchair. When we got there the ramp was already there and the parking place reserved. All the staff were thoughtful and considerate about the wheelchair witting making a fuss. The restaurant was very busy but...

We stayed here for three nights. The pub is in a quiet location but easily accessible via the A66. From the moment we arrived to the time we left we received exceptionally friendly and professional service. Our room was very tastefully decorated and immaculately clean as was the rest of the pub. We certainly had no trouble sleeping in the...

This Pub is a little Gem, it's very welcoming, and nothing is to much trouble, visiting it, is a pleasure for both tourists and locals alike, it's well laid out for those wishing to just sit and relax, with either a refreshing drink or a well made Coffee. Well with the visit!!

Dropped in to this fabulous old inn for Sunday lunch as you do. Twas marvelous , lovely old place with a mixture of traditional and modern decor, comfy sofa's and armchairs to flop into. We had the roast beef YUM and better value on a weekend than going to the local toby :-). Polite attentive staff , the landlady looked...

We stumbled across The Black Swan @ Culgaith whilst looking for a place to stay that would enable us to visit 4 racecourses in both the north of England and Scotland. When we first walked into bar of The Black Swan, we were greeted with a lovely warm log fire and an equal warm and lovely smile from the barmaid....
