Felt like a hotel from the 1980s. Room was very nice as was the pool but a totally bizarre set of priorities with no eco / sustainable qualities. No place to refill water but instead if you ask for water they send someone one to your room with small plastic bottles. They replenish these plastic bottles each day. They give you new tiny plastic bottles of shampoo each day and wash the towels every day regardless of requests. Totally unnecessary use of energy and plastic.
Breakfast is poor. Great number of staff there but seem focused on putting out stacks of plates ans cups correctly and often no milk available. No hot water so if you want tea you just have a pot which brews constantly and they just periodically add water too. In a country full of beautiful fresh fruit their breakfast fruit is not fresh and often covered in flies. There is so many staff they could just bring each person a little plate of fruit if they liked. Lots of options in the hot plate buffet but all seem straight from a frozen / package and not fresh at all.

Average hotel in a small town where what hotels there are, are overpriced for the standard. We had a deluxe room which was perfectly ok but nothing special. Good nights sleep and a/c functional. Breakfast options are poor and the room is open air so rather warm. It also means the food laid out like pastries and bread are pray to the local wildlife especially the birds. Terrible stewed coffee.
WE dined one night and my Nani goring was superb however I did suffer some tummy issues the next 48 hours.
The hotel is too far out of the main town to be safe to walk in and back as there are no street lights.
We stayed here as a jump off point for boats to Komodo island and thats really the only point to stay here right now.
Pool area is nice and well kept but as others have mentioned the small private beach has a plastic problem and there were workers burning plastic and garden rubbish directly next door on the beach during our visit.

Pros: 1) Staff are very nice and helpful. 2) Rooms are clean. 3) It has a resort feel.
Cons: 1) Main reason for the 3 stars is because the water pressure is really bad and the temperature control is horrid. It’s so odd how the water pressure goes higher as the temperature goes higher. However, 90% of the temperature dial on the shower was hot. I asked the reception to check on it but there was no change after.
2) It is a 10 minute drive into the city which the hotel charges 150k for a one way ride in (really expensive though in general car transport prices are really expensive in Labuan Bajo). There was no Gojek available in the vicinity to be used (hence we had to use the hotel transport). The hotel should provide a shuttle service in at fixed timings at a cheaper price instead.
3) Just a wading pool (you can’t swim per se as it is a winding pool).

Bintang Flores hotel is the worse price ratio we've ever had in SE Asia. They charge you more than 120 euros per night (to put in perspective a good dish in Indonesia in a good restaurant is 5 euros) and the A/C does not work properly, the shower is dirty, not enough water pression and they have the garbage on the beach.... Except for the swimming pool, this hotel does not worth it. I clearly don't understand the rating. We are going back to Labuan Bajo after a tour in Flores and initially booked this hotel again but I cancelled and we will be staying at the Puri sari beach hotel.

The hotel looks good, nice pool area, limited possibility to fre swimming in the sea, dirty sea, area adjacent to the beach full of garbage, rooms are spacious with huge beds, sufficient bathroom (plastic curtain), not aligned with the rest of the room. The staff also understands little English and speaks poorly, this can cause misunderstandings: we were not prepared a packed breakfast before an excursion because it was probably mismarked the time of our presence, but the receptionist was sleeping in the lobby and did not even hear the bell we rang on the counter. When we returned from the excursion the receptionist ran away and at check out no word was uttered, we were not asked how the stay went and we were charged for dinner without any discount for the inconvenience.

Stayed one night before a boat trip. Super friendly staff, limited English but hey- you're in Labuan Bajo. Room was in the main block, closer to the road, but directly facing the ocean. No balcony but the windows could be opened wide so it was very nice. AC worked very well. Furniture was dated and like some other reviews said, wifi was not great. It should work in a hotel at this price point (over a hundred bucks on some days!). Breakfast was good, plenty of choices, and opened promptly at 6am, which was nice because I was jetlagged and up early. Water kettle in room to make some coffee. Pool was lovely! Really nice to sit in the pool overlooking the bay full of boats. Beach is a bit scruffy but that's not the hotel's fault, it's in/ near the city. Not really walking distance to much in town, but a 5-10 minute taxi ride got me to a good supermarket to pick up beers and snacks for my upcoming boat trip. It ticked all the boxes, but I got it thru agoda a few days before my stay for much less ($45) than I'm seeing quoted now. So, if it's at a good price, like it was for me, it was a great deal! At more than double that, it's just OK. That said, Labuan Bajo doesn't have many hotels between the downtown/port hostels and small hotels that are decent but not great, and the VERY expensive resorts out on the islands that are over two or three hundred per night. I'd stay here again!

Very poor service. Dirty, dated hotel. Inundated with flies at breakfast with most food exposed. Weird selection for breakfast that looked like it had been sitting under the lightbulbs for some time despite arriving for breakfast early. Hotel says coffee shop available but there was not. Bathroom had ingrained dirt and lacked quality supplies.
Pool area staff lacked customer service skills. Lots or rubbish washed up on the beach which i understand is not the fault of the hotel but the staff made no effort to clear it. We came down to the pool to see full ashtrays sitting on the table. Also had to wait for towels and get our own cushions out.
This is meant to be a four star hotel but I would say it would struggle to gain a 2 star rating in my opinion . Also not near any facilities or restaurants and the service in their restaurant was a long wait with no atmosphere

This is the nicest place we stayed in Flores. Large very clean rooms, beautiful gardens. The swimming pool is cleaned daily and has plenty of shaded areas to relax in. It’s a couple of kilometres out of the centre of Labuan Bajo , this keeps it quiet and taxis are cheap and plentiful. The staff are fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and the restaurant staff were the friendliest people we met.

We didn't spend much time at the hotel, as we only stayed two nights. We arrived in the afternoon around 6 pm and they treated us very pleasantly, although it was already late they didn't give us any problems in going to the pool. Where we could relax after the plane trip and 5 previous days without stopping in Bali. The next day we had booked an excursion to visit Komodo Island. I think they themselves offer transfer service and excursions like the Komodo one, although we had already contracted it through an agency. They prepared breakfast for us at the time we agreed, to take away and at no additional cost. Clean spacious and equipped rooms, very large and comfortable bed. Large pool with bar service and in front of the beach (private), very nice although we didn't swim in it. The day we left we had ordered a taxi through their service and it was there at the agreed time. Everything very correct

Good hotel, nice and large rooms with airco. The garden is beautifully landscaped. The swimming pool is beautifully landscaped and ideal for having a beer. Pool towels and sun loungers are available. The restaurant in the hotel has a limited menu but is tasty. it is 3 km from the harbour, but this means that it is quiet here in the evening.
