Nestled in a picturesque and tranquil setting, the Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is celebrated for its enchanting atmosphere, with guests often mesmerized by the stunning views and serene vibe, although a few find it a bit too lavish or noisy. The service strikes a chord for its professionalism, notably in dining and activities, despite occasional hiccups at the reception. Amenities, including the private beaches and diverse activities, garner appreciation for enhancing the indulgent experience.
While many guests consider the opulent experience well worth the investment, some balk at the prices. Staying at InterContinental Da Nang was such a fantastic experience! The resort is stunning— every corner is like a piece of art. But honestly, what made it so special wasn't just how beautiful it was—it was the people.
I must thank JY from guest services and Anh Nguyen at Barefoot restaurant. They were both incredible—friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making guests happy. It's not just them, though; everyone I met was so well-trained and seemed to know exactly when to offer help or let you enjoy the moment. It's a rare skill, and they've nailed it.
The dining here is out of this world. Whether it's the elegance and attention to detail at La Maison or Barefoot's laid-back, beachy vibe, every meal feels like it's been crafted just for you. The flavours, presentation and the way the staff interacts with you during meals make every bite memorable. But it doesn't stop at the restaurants. Even the little treats they leave in your room are so thoughtful—those delicate nibbles feel like they're part of the whole experience and change daily! It's such a pleasant surprise every time you return to your room.
The level of care and attention extends to every little detail. The amenities in the room were perfect—luxurious, practical, and beautifully presented. Everything from the toiletries to how the towels were folded made it clear how much thought they put into making the stay memorable. They wanted every part of your day to feel indulgent, even when relaxing in your room.
The resort is perched on the Sơn Trà Peninsula, with jaw-dropping views. You can't take a bad photo here—it's that gorgeous. The Long Bar is especially worth checking out. Everything from the sofas to the oversized fans was so well thought out. Even the bathrooms are beautifully designed!
And yes, a unique feature of this place is the groups of monkeys that come to your balcony daily, looking for food. While some might find it inconvenient, I saw it as a charming trademark of the resort. After all, they've been here long before the hotel, and in a way, it's us invading their privacy. Watching them interact and go about their day felt like a unique and wonderful reminder of the property's natural beauty.
This place is honestly one of the best I've ever stayed at. It's not just the design, location, or food—it's the whole vibe and the way the staff make you feel at home while being super professional. I can't wait to come back. If you're considering it, go—you won't regret it!

During our stay at the Intercontinental in Danang, Vietnam, we booked a classic with ocean view room which was absolutely fabulous. The room was huge and came with a very glamorous bathroom and a massive balcony that offered spectacular views across the bay and the South China Sea. The resort itself is stunning, stylist, set on a cliffside with breathtaking views over the sea. The architecture is amazing and the scent of lemongrass adds to the exotic vibe of the place. The staff are extremely helpful and the hospitality is exquisite.
Check in & Check out was done swiftly by Nhi & Vy. We really enjoy our conversation with these two beautiful and personable staff. Our butler service was Huy/Jasper - he has such a pleasant smile and very personable.
The location of the resort is picture perfect, situated between the sea and the mountains. The views are simply magnificent, and the private beach is a sight to behold. The hotel is beautifully designed and well-maintained despite being around for 10 years.
The Citron restaurant offers mainly Vietnamese dishes, which are all exceptional. The breakfast spread is also amazing.
The Long Bar is another must-visit spot, with fantastic cocktails and a beautiful beach. You have to request for Ly our server. She was delightfully humorous with personality. We really enjoy our conversation with her.
The staff at the resort are truly exceptional, and they go above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable. From the f&b director Venkat Undaram, F&B manager Mr. Oliver, F&B Manager Hai Vu to the servers at Citron and the assistant manager at Barefoot restaurant Hiện Nguyên, the service is attentive, genuine and relaxing. The Vietnamese traditional quartet was a great addition to the ambiance of Hoi An. The food spread was incredible. It has an abundant of choices and both Western and Eastern cuisine. The Asian/Vietnamese was truly delicious.
We were also impressed by the attentiveness and enthusiasm of staff members like Suong Che, Anh Lương, and Suong Dang, Hoa Nguyen, Toan Le, who made our dining experiences truly memorable.
Pool side service Xuan was very attentive and help find a great spot also help us with some beautiful photos.
Overall, this resort is definitely one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, and we cannot wait to go back. The commitment of the Intercontinental Danang to doing more than what is asked while executing at the highest level truly sets it apart.
I want to highlight the exceptional service provided by Suong Dang, who went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable dining experience. Suong was very accommodating and demonstrated a deep understanding of our preferences. She even served us again outdoors at HoiAn by the beach. Her professionalism, genuine sincerity, and hospitality were the epitome of excellence. Suong is truly an amazing young lady, and we appreciate her for making our stay at the Intercontinental Danang even more special.
I want to further emphasize the exceptional service provided by Hoa Nguyen, who went above and beyond to make our dining experience unforgettable. Hoa not only ensured that our breakfast was perfect, but also took the time to take photos of us while we were perched over the sea in a private pod. His attentiveness and enthusiasm to make our experience memorable truly impressed us. We appreciated his willingness to go the extra mile to ensure that our stay at the Intercontinental Danang was nothing short of exceptional. Thank you, Hoa Nguyen, for your outstanding service!
I want to further highlight the exceptional culinary skills of Anh Luong, who made the most delicious Vietnamese crepe we've ever had. We've tried crepes in Hanoi and in other hotels during our travels from north yo South Vietnam, but Anh's version was far superior. Her cooking was truly authentic and remained true to our Vietnamese heritage. We were impressed by her attention to detail, dedication to quality, and passion for her craft. Anh's culinary skills were definitely one of the highlights of our stay at the Intercontinental Danang, and we appreciate her for making our dining experience truly memorable. Thank you, Anh Luong, for your outstanding culinary skills. We can tell that she is very proud of what she does.
I would like to highlight the exceptional culinary skills of Chef Kha, the pastry chef at the Intercontinental Danang, who created some of the most memorable pastries we've ever tasted. From coconut banana pastries to macaroons, every pastry that Chef Kha made was simply delicious. His attention to detail and dedication to using local ingredients really shone through in his creations. We were impressed by the unique blend of Vietnamese and French flavors in his pastries, and they were truly unforgettable. Chef Kha's culinary skills were definitely one of the highlights of our stay at the Intercontinental Danang, and we appreciate him for making our dining experience truly exceptional. Thank you, Chef Kha, for your outstanding culinary skills!
I would like to highlight Chef Hung, who was in charge of creating Banh Mi from Hoi An, the Vietnamese baguette. Chef Hung's culinary skills were truly exceptional and he created some of the best Banh Mi that we've ever tasted. His attention to detail and dedication to using fresh, local ingredients really shone through in his creations.
I would like to highlight Chef Tien, the head of the Citron hot food section, who created an exceptional dish called Cao Lau, a native dish of Hoi An. Chef Tien's culinary skills were truly impressive, and he created one of the best versions of Cao Lau that we've ever tasted. His attention to detail and dedication to using fresh, local ingredients really shone through in his creation. We appreciated his passion for preserving the authenticity of the dish and presenting it in a way that truly honored its Vietnamese heritage. Chef Tien's culinary skills were definitely one of the highlights of our stay at the Intercontinental Danang, and we appreciate him for making our dining experience truly exceptional. Thank you, Chef Tien, for your outstanding culinary skills.
I would like to highlight Như Vo who was in charge of creating the delicious Pho soup that we enjoyed at Citron restaurant. Như Vo culinary skills were truly impressive, and she created one of the best versions of Pho that we've ever tasted. Her attention to detail and dedication to using fresh, local ingredients really shone through in her creation.
I would like to highlight Hiện Nguyên, the assistant manager at Barefoot restaurant, who went above and beyond to help create a Cobb Salad for my husband, even though it was not on the menu. My husband was craving the salad and Hiện Nguyên was so nice and accommodating to help make it happen. Her attention to detail and dedication to providing exceptional service really impressed us. We appreciated her kindness and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure that our dining experience was exceptional. Hiện Nguyên's outstanding service was definitely one of the highlights of our stay at the Intercontinental Danang, and we appreciate her for making our dining experience truly memorable. Thank you, Hiện Nguyên, for your exceptional service!
On a beautiful evening the beach was transform into a small Hoi An neighborhood. The air was filled was the most beautiful aroma of grilled pork, fish, squid, lamb and beef. All traditional Hoi An cuisine. We left with a content full stomach and the taste still remain vivid in my head as I sit and write this review.
In Summary this amazing hotel/resort was not created by 1 but a team of passionate people that really love what they do and celebrated our heritage and culture for us to share and enjoy.
Thank You for a wonderful vacation. We will be back.

We stayed at the Intercontinental Da Nang in December 2024 for the festive season. As seasoned travelers, we highly recommend this property! The setting itself is gorgeous - in the jungle, lush and mysterious, with monkeys running around (not dangerous or threatening to humans) and the sound of crashing surf everywhere. The hotel is built into gorgeous natural setting and exists harmoniously with it, yet doesn't lack any of the modern luxury amenities you might expect. The architecture is a blend of East and West designed by Bill Bensley (search for Bill online - very impressive!), who also has done the interior design of the hotel and has a gallery on the property.
Our villa on the Rocks was beautiful, comfortable, and private with its own pool overlooking the water. Housekeeping did an impeccable job every day, and our butler, Hero, was professional,an excellent communicator, always ready with perfect ideas, and capable of securing a La Maison 1888 reservation, spa appointments, and other festivities as needed - Her is all around just a fantastic human being.
We enjoyed the hospitality, delicious food and ambiance of the Club Lounge, and are grateful to the wonderful and genuine ladies and gentlemen of the Lounge that made our experience extraordinary.
The Long Bar is super fun for afternoon games, including ping pong, billiards, archery, chess and others. They also have a wonderful kids club. The spa is lovely and services top notch.
High marks to the General Manager Seif Hamdy, for creating and nurturing a delicate balance of natural beauty, superb service and facilities. We are looking forward to returning!

We chose InterContinental Danang because we believe it is the best hotel in Danang. Having had a wonderful experience at InterContinental Phu Quoc a few years ago and consistently enjoying high satisfaction across multiple InterContinental properties, we visited with great expectations. However, we encountered certain issues and inconveniences during our stay, which we would like to bring to your attention.
Concerns
1. The Necessity of the Butler Service
Before our arrival, we communicated with the butler via email, providing essential information such as food allergies and pillow preferences. However, upon arrival, we found that these details had not been shared with the hotel. It is unclear whether the butler failed to communicate this information to the restaurant and housekeeping or whether the hotel received the details but failed to act on them.
Having a butler system naturally leads to the expectation that such information will be properly conveyed. The disappointment was even greater when we realized that this was not the case. Had the butler service not existed, we would have directly informed the hotel about our allergy concerns. Based on our experience, not only do five-star hotels but even three-star hotels and traditional Japanese ryokans take food allergies into consideration when serving meals.
Additionally, two activity programs we booked through the butler were not reserved, according to staff at the venue. Surprisingly, the staff allowed us to participate without a reservation, even though we were previously informed that a reservation was required. This made us question whether the reservation process was necessary in the first place.
There was also miscommunication regarding housekeeping requests made through the butler. As a result, the evening turndown service was not performed. After returning from our evening plans, we realized this had not been done and had to wait outside our room while the service was being completed, disrupting our relaxation.
This raises a question: Would our requests have been handled more efficiently if we had communicated directly with the hotel instead of using the butler service?
We strongly urge a thorough review and improvement of the butler system.
2. Villa Security Concerns
While resting in our villa during the evening, an unauthorized individual entered the villa premises for a walk. We were staying in a One-Bedroom Pool Villa - On The Rocks, where the only lockable area is the bedroom itself.
We were not informed that non-guests might share this space. This lack of security and communication raises concerns, as it could lead to unnecessary conflicts or even accidents among hotel guests. We request the hotel to improve security measures to prevent such incidents.
Awaiting Your Response
We look forward to your explanation and response regarding the two issues we faced during our stay.

I haven't visited in a while. The last time was pre-coronavirus timing, but this time the staff was responsive despite an occupancy rate of over 90%, and the restaurant arrangement when the butler in charge was out was quick and good. The restaurant Citron has an extensive breakfast menu, so it feels good to wake up early and sit on a non-lar seat. It would be helpful to arrange a room for the upper class as there is an airport individual transfer service. The Barefoot restaurant, which was closed last time, was happy to let me in even though it was wet with bathing suits. The food was better than I expected, so I recommend it for lunch. Personally, I like the club lounge here.

Xin Chao! The arrival at the hotel was unique. The entrance is breathtaking and beautifully decorated with orchids. Despite the change of my family's arrival date and the slightly incorrect check-in date, the hotel management was very accommodating. We had an incredibly beautiful holiday in the middle of nature. The hotel rooms were breathtakingly beautifully decorated, with a view of the sea and very clean. The daily morning buffet at Citrone is very varied with the most delicious food and top service. The ambience is always inviting. The entire hotel complex is maintained daily and if you take your time on the way to the sea, you can see langurs sitting in the treetops. The fusion of nature and marble with wood is very successful, simply fantastic. The entire staff is very attentive, friendly and helpful. You can enjoy a high quality of guest service. The elevator in the shape of a ship that sails you from the sea to the sky is brilliant!
For all those who want to treat themselves to this unique holiday experience, you will not regret it. Cam on!! And a Happy New Year

We stayed for 4 nights in a King Club Suite which was very spacious and perfect for myself and two teenagers with a foldaway. Great room layout and plenty of floor space to accommodate three large open suitcases plus wardrobe space, which isn’t always the case for rooms when there are three people.
Great size bathroom and the large double vanity area was well thought out with plenty of surface space and ledges. Handy with a teenage girl with all the hair and make up products!
The resort runs like clockwork and service levels throughout were excellent. If you called for a buggy, you were given the wait time and it was always exact. Room service was the same and when we called to have the tray collected it was taken care of immediately.
Dining options were varied with excellent quality food and service on every occasion we dined.
Breakfast was delicious - absolutely everything you could think of with coffee delivered quickly to the table. Very important!
We enjoyed dinner in Citron on a couple of the nights and appreciated such a varied menu, with local and Western options available. I would like to highlight a particular member of your team who really looked after us at dinner named Khoa Huynh. His positive and welcoming attitude while he served us really made us feel valued.
The resort and grounds are immaculate and maintained to the highest level. The beach is lovely too.
A perfect few days and I would look to return if vitiating Da Nang.

We have just returned from our second visit to this hotel; our last visit was in 2019.
This was an excellent stay. In fact it was even better than the first time. The service remains impeccable. The food is absolutely fantastic. The beach is beautiful. The swimming pool is a very relaxing place to unwind. The room is comfortable and clean. It is everything you could ask for.
My only gripe is the cost of 1888 which is extremely expensive. The meal cost us nearly £600 including wine. You would struggle to pay that amount at a Michelin star restaurant in London so they probably need to revisit the pricing.
Also, please provide baby changing facilities in the men’s lavatories, or a separate / exclusive baby changing facility which parents can use. As two dads travelling with our son, we could not change him when we were at the Long Bar, as the baby facilities were only in the female lavatory. Not ideal in 2024.
All in all, however, it was a fantastic holiday and we would absolutely return again in future.

With how many positive reviews there are and how far it is from reality, you start to think that a reputation has been bought here. The first moment I entered, I was surprised by the architecture. It is aimed at evoking the first "ah" from the client, but it quickly begins to bother and soon you see that it does not fit into the landscape at all and, moreover, spoils it. It is very beautiful here. Nature has given this place a gentle sea and a beautiful spit. But the hotel itself did not dispose of it. Rooms with an ornate design, from which the head soon begins to ache, since comfort was sacrificed here in the name of designer surplus - in 1 day, the paper holder, the door handle and half of the air conditioner fell off, delighting with the number of wires. The place is definitely not for children, but for fighting. With monkeys. When we were first shown a room with a large balcony, the employee couldn't even open it because a flock of monkeys appeared on it, and the girl was scared pale of them. Then she admitted that the monkey could remember how she opened the door, and hurried away. Soon the fears were confirmed. My mother and I were standing with our backs to the balcony, turned around and saw a wild monkey right in front of us at an elbow's distance, the second in the corner rummaging through a suitcase and the third extending through the balcony door. Which they opened themselves and silently crept up to attack ! The incident was avoided thanks to his brother, but they made their way to his room a few hours later and left the ficalia. The staff here doesn't care, the monkey catcher wasn't even given a buggy here. Speaking of these cars, if you call them here while you're walking out of the room, the car will leave, taking away a crowd of other tourists. Just because they got caught earlier. When we complained about the monkeys, they replied that it was our fault, probably we fed them, although this is a lie. We also checked the balcony door, it was locked. But the castle there made the hotel unintended from monkeys, although they know that monkeys are dangerous and everywhere they have those painted, which suggests that they could have foreseen a daily attack and come up with a lock with a KEY. In the bathroom there is a window behind the back of the praying ieu, which leads to a balcony full of aggressive monkeys and opens in a second and silently. In response, do you hear from the hotel: "We are only guests of the monkeys, they are the owners here!" Who are we here then? Are victims, supposed to survive? To be fair, the restaurant and breakfast were the best of many I've seen. But they seem to be separated from the Hunger games of the hotel.

Hey Julie!
During our stay in May we didn‘t see any mosquitoes! But maybe it‘s a question of the season…
Going down to the beach is very easy! You can take the cable railway (easy and fast) or call a buggy! We even took the stairs once because we wanted to experience the nature:-)
There are some great restaurants within the hotel (Vietnamese, French and Seafood/Meat), but if you want to go somewhere else or to Danang you have to take a taxi (20-30min) The hotel is in the middle of the jungle - very private and secluded. So, going somewhere else by foot is not possible.
There are more places to choose from in the Son Tra Peninsula area.
