Swinton Park Hotel comes highly recommended for its comfortable and spacious rooms, though a few guests have had concerns over noise and maintenance. The hotel's cleanliness, particularly the pristine spa, is frequently celebrated, and its festive atmosphere and historical charm add to the luxurious experience. While the hotel's location offers stunning vistas, it can be a bit isolated for dining options. Amenities such as the acclaimed spa and beautiful grounds are popular, but some visitors point out occasional service shortcomings. The staff is generally praised for their attentiveness, contributing to a warm and welcoming environment.

I found Swinton Estate via an internet search and fell in love with the hotel immediately. I had been looking for a venue offering an elopement package and the "Just For Two" package was incredibly good value. The hotel looked spectacular with all its Christmas trees and decorations.

The estate is beautiful and we enjoyed a long walk to look around the lakes, the hundreds of deer and the Birds Of Prey centre. There are so many locations for wonderful wedding photographs. The food was great, with a large varied food and drinks menu in The Terrace restaurant. The staff were very friendly, particularly Gay who served us for breakfast each day and remembered what we liked to order - she even waved us off when we checked out. The spa, pool and treatment rooms were clean and luxurious, I would recommend a massage.

The rooms are all uniquely different (even having Christmas wreaths on the bedroom doors), however they all share one thing...HEAT! For people like me, who are always cold, this is perfect. It is easily sorted however, by opening some windows and switching off the radiators.

There is a large car park and the EV charger was available and working during our stay.

Rosie and Johanna on the events team were super helpful with arranging dates and creating our perfect day. Unfortunately we arrived late to check in, however Rosie managed to move back our couples massage so we could still visit the spa. We were greeted with a glass of fizz and our bags were taken to our room. The hotel is obviously operating differently due to the COVID pandemic, although everywhere felt clean, the staff all wore masks and even the reception desk had a plastic barrier around it. The social distancing actually enhanced our wedding as we were able to have our ceremony in the slightly larger Panelled Room and our wedding breakfast in the Private Dining Room. The hotel allowed us to bring in our own decor for the wedding but did provide us with chair covers and a sound system. There were so many little personal touches, little chocolates and biscuits in the bedrooms and even a Christmas Welcome card!

A huge thankyou to Swinton Park for making my wedding day so magical and special. For anyone researching Swinton for a wedding, this venue will definitely meet your requirements! We hope to visit again for our 1st wedding anniversary.

We visited the hotel grounds during lockdown and had a picnic for our wedding anniversary. It was half price entry which was £5 each but was worth it for the beautiful grounds and quiet space.

We took our own picnic
Disabled toilet was available in the spa and was very clean with hand gel available.
Lovely friendly welcome, we sat near the falconry which were sweet.

There are some lovely walks if you want to be more active.

We stayed one night primarily for the experience of staying in the Turret room.
The Turret room is a 3 storey apartment with sitting room at the base ( third floor of the hotel level) bedroom above up 23 stairs and bathroom up another 23 stairs. It is big enough to live in, de orated beautifully with the stand alone bath and a large wardrobe that fits against the the curved wall two stand out features ( the turret is circular). There is a toilet downstairs at sitting room level but no toilet at bedroom level. The views are outstanding and all the usual facilities expected in a luxury hotel.
An outstanding and unique experience.
Staff here and friendly and helpful ( the electric heater in the bedroom was not working and when pointing this out we were instantly provided with a portable heater and an apology. ( all the heaters are electric). Would we stay here again? At Swindon Park definitely but probably in a different suite as there are a lot of stairs in the Turret. The food at Samuels, the Spa, the architecture and the countryside and views within the estate are all good reasons to stay here the 19th century turret is a unique extra experience.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful; gorgeous location, grounds and amenities. The food and dinner were both amazing. The breakfast. On both mornings, hot food was brought out whilst our party of six were still eating food from the buffet. On the second morning, we specifically asked for the hot food to be served once we had finished eating from the buffet. However, once again, all the hot food arrived mid consumption of fruit / cereal etc. Most of the party asked for the food to be sent back to the kitchen and kept warm. Those who didn't had their food sent back anyway! The rooms. The rooms are very specious with comfortable beds. However, some of them are definitely in need of a refurb. The toilet handle in my parents room was broken, the shower base was very slippery and none of the TVs worked properly. Lastly, the settlement of the bill. On arriving to pay, we were presented with a bill that was clearly incorrect. The itemised bill was eventually printed off and it was obvious that the restaurant food had been double counted. However, trying to explain this to the receptionist so that she understood and agreed was just impossible. It was only when the restaurant manager came to the front desk that she acknowledged the mistake. In total, we spent around 20 minutes at the desk dealing with this debacle. All the while, the receptionist was sullen, seemingly bored and unapologetic. We left the hotel feeling that the situation had really impacted on our enjoyment of the holiday.

We stayed for three nights, the hotel is lovely and so were the staff. Unfortunately right from the beginning there were a few things wrong, number 1 no WiFi in the room, when queried we were told they would look into it, was never resolved and then and in my opinion very important the towel rail didn’t work resulting wet towels, this wasn’t resolved either we had maintenance men in and out of our room one of the days, we were told we could have extra towels when we needed them. And lastly the coffee machine didn’t work properly and was replaced with another one that didn’t work at all, eventually we had a working one. I hate complaining so this made our stay a bit stressful. The good points I love this hotel and the grounds , the food was lovely.
Would I go back probably but I would check that everything was working in my room before I arrived.

We were bought this hotel stay & spa day as a Christmas present all I can say is WOW. The hotel setting is amazing in beautiful grounds. The hotel rooms are all named, we had the ripon which had a lovely view of the lake, every facility you can imagine is available & rooms are very clean, the bed was lovely & comfy with a full bath ( always a bonus) and shower.

The spa was the best spa experience I have ever had, treatments are of an average spa price & the facilities are amazing, we had a wonderful day.

Samuels restaurant the food was the best we have tasted, a delicious menu for £60 a head for 3 courses. Such a fine dining experience.

Breakfast must also be mentioned, again high quality food served & we must mention the lovely waitress named Gay who served us, she went above and beyond to engage in chat & nothing was too much trouble, and she never stopped smiling, a credit to the Swinton team.

A fabulous stay ! We will be back. Thank you Swinton

My sister and I had a great day at Swinton. The massage and Craniosacral therapy were excellent. We totally chilled out by the pool and used the thermal rooms. The pool hosts were very active bringing drinks and changing towels etc. The addition of the buzzers is excellent. Thank you!

Once again, Swinton Park and it's team (although slightly smaller than usual, for obvious reasons) did not disappoint. On arrival we were greeted with a glass of Prosecco which was nicely chilled and most welcoming. We then proceeded to The Bradford Suite ( my wife's favourite) to find a bottle of Champagne chilling on ice - a lovely touch! Once we'd unpacked for our two night stay, we took our usual walk around the gardens and lake area and then returned to our room to drink the Champagne, after which we dined at the wonderful Samuels Restaurant. It was evident that the restaurant was short staffed, but the service was delivered with aplomb and the usual professionalism that we've come to expect over the years. The team did not appear to be flustered at all, and made the evening of our Silver Wedding anniversary one to remember-thank you! The breakfast in Samuels was as tasty as ever, but not such a large spread of continental as experienced on previous visits. On day two, we went to The Terrace restaurant ( fully clothed & not in bathrobes! Staggering that some guests find that acceptable....) and had the most wonderful breakfast. We were very well looked after & the the only guests in there for the whole time. It was raining outside, perhaps we were the only people prepared to get a little wet. It was well worth the effort! We made good use of the Spa & found it to be perfectly clean & absolutely no mould at all on the mattresses that we used. It is fairly obvious that one particular reviewer of Swinton Park complains about every single place they visit, apart from one. But hey ho, it's horses for courses and if people get a kick out of complaining, then so be it.. Such a shame for the owners and hardworking teams that keep these wonderful places ticking over, especially over the last eighteen months or so. We shall return for sure. Keep up the great work ' Team Swinton', and we'll see you again soon...

Beautiful hotel for my husbands surprise 60th birthday present.
From the minute you arrive at the gates and see the view just wow!
The rooms are large and beautifully set out with little touches such as a hand written welcome card. As there are not many bedrooms you feel like the only people there.
The staff are amazing, attentive and cannot do enough for you, but then just fade away.
Every meal we had in the Terrace or Samuels was high standard and beautifully cooked.
The grounds are amazing and immaculately kept. It was so nice to sit outside and watch the wildlife and birds. Luckily the weather was hit and sunny for walks.
The spa is a lovely place to relax.
Special thank you to Adam in the terrace restaurant and Gaye who were the most lovely people.
Two nights were not long enough to experience everything and we will definitely be back for a longer stay
Thank you

First few nights away of the year and my god we needed it after the year we had. We has a junior suite and even though the bathroom was not as impressive as other places we visited the suite was very clean and comfortable. We loved the little personal touches as the card from the manager, the little drinks in room, the dink on arrival and many more. I suppose you get want you pay for and with the owl experience we had it all added to about £1200 for 2 nights.
The grounds are lovely and we were really lucky to have a nice day to be able to walk around the lakes.
The staff were very relaxed but very professional and loved being able to find out that people enjoyed what they were doing and loved their work place.
We had a dinner in the main part of the hotel at Samuel's and one at the terrace restaurant. Same with breakfast. I must say by far the terrace restaurant won.. I wish we tried the terrace before as we wouldn't have bothered with Samuels although eating in that impressive room had its benefits (mainly the view as the main lacked a bit of flavour.. we had turbot and my husband was not pleased with the bones left in the fish filet). The pork belly at the terrace restaurant was probably the best I've had in a long old time but the chocolate desert at Samuel's was also quite nice..
The spa was spotless and loved the different steam rooms, hydro pool and hot tub.. the husband was brave enough to swim in the natural pool when were only 12 Celsius outside.
We are very glad we have been able to visit and spend 2 great nights away. I loved it wasn't too busy or if it was it did not feel it..

Same as others have said. There are several Knight's Rooms; they are a category rather than one specific room. The Coach House is a fairly recent conversion so I don't know what is in there, but some are certainly in the main house. The people on reception are super, so just phone and ask. You are paying for good service so they will attempt to accomodate you.

Yes they are and they are very welcome it would appear. You pay for them ( £15per night per pet I think) and they get their own basket and blanket in your room and there are dog towels in the boot room and water bowls etc
