Bruce and Esme are incredible hosts who welcomed us after a long hard days cycling. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and the cookies and a good cup of tea on arrival was amazing. The facilities were clean and very comfortable. It was great to have comfortable communal area to meet other guests and...

We stayed here on the 1st night of cycling the rail trail and had a lovely en-suite room in the garden of the old school which was so clean and comfortable. The owner was very welcoming and we all felt like we were in a home away from home.

You are literally staying at the old school. It's a neat quirky little spot which is 20 meters from the pub (Lauder Hotel). The hospitality, Bruce & Esme', was first rate. You would be crazy not to stop in for the night.

Awesome night at the school after a day's biking. Hot spa to soak bodies, comfy beds and most welcoming hosts. Ask Bruce about his ukulele and you might be treated to a couple of tunes. Highly recommend staying here.

A great place to stop over whilst on the rail trail or passing through. The owners are so friendly and accommodating. Ended up stopping the the staff room! The detention shed was full! The use of the spa pool was a great need after cycling many kilometres. The classroom is the common area to mix with the other guests whilst...

I stayed for one night whilst cycling the rail trail and it was by far my favourite acommodation. It´s an old school house that has been converted into a BnB. The kitchen and common room are housed in the (single) old class room. Loved that they have themed rooms. I stayed in the "sports shed". The owners were super friendly...

A fantastic and truly unique experience staying in a converted school with a plenty of character, complimentary cookies, breaky and some good old fashioned Kiwi hospitality. Esme is a true gem and Bruce was an absolute ripper, busting out some tunes on his ucalaly as we relaxed in the old classroom. The rooms were basic but immaculate with great beds...

I expected very basic accommodation on our rail trail but were pleasantly surprised when we arrived in Lauder on our first night. Esme was warm and welcoming and the quaint country property just put a smile on our faces immediately. The ensuite rooms were comfortable and very well maintained. Dinner was available at the Lauder Pub across the road, which...
