Very beautiful valley just away from the busier tourist areas below Cader Idris but only two miles from Dolgellau which has 200 listed buildings and a heritage of gold mining and Quakerism to explore. It also has an interesting cooperative displaying local artists work plus some good coffee shops. Dolserau Hall Hotel is built on the site of an older... More

Having just stayed at the HF owned Dolserau Hall I can say that I have never had such good service and food in an HF hotel berfore. The staff I came into contact with were very efficient and friendly and they deserve a mention. Lawrence and Kelly who ran the bar were good company and always had a smile. The... More

Stayed here with hf holiday and thought everything was to a very high standard. Food excellent with plenty of choice, rooms lovely, staff all very helpful and friendly. Good boot drying room, nice torrent walk from house. 5 minute drive to Dolgellau.

We booked this a few days before as we were meeting friends in the area. As soon as you turn off the road, you realise how beautiful this is, and a long winding narrow road takes you over a pretty river and into a spacious car park. The buildings are lovely, and we were greeted by very friendly and up-beat... More

We went for an overnight and for exploring Snowdonia the next day. The building is lovely to look at, as well as the surrounding view. We arrived quite late, but we were welcomed out of the rain and up to our room. The Welsh cooked breakfast the next day was delicious, we were asked how we liked our eggs and... More

We have just returned from a 4 night stay with a walking group. I have to say the walking was brilliant and organised by HF (Holiday Fellowship) walk leaders, who were well up to task. The walks in this area are never going to be easy ones, but on the other hand they are so rewarding. The 'hotel' is not... More

this hotel is for walkers only, who do not mind the dirty hotel and rooms and are not fussed about hot food. we have a room in an annex, it was big, but not clean at all, carpets not clean. tried to get a drink in the bar, but no ice, and you all have to go to dinner at... More

My review in no way reflects the staff, who are delightful, but if you book you should be aware of the following in advance: 1. This is not a hotel, it's a hostel for groups and tours 2. Check out is 10am 3. The wi-if does not work 4. The TV's are tiny and the picture quality is atrocious 5.... More

This was my first walking holiday so was unsure what to expect but Dolserau was brilliant. We had a good welcome and a cream tea at 4pm followed by a very good dinner at 7.15 with lots of quality choice. Breakfast and packed lunch selection were equally as good. The staff were all youngsters who were extremely attentive and polite... More

I enjoyed my return to Dolserau Hall on another HF walking holiday. On arrival I had a very warm welcome from the acting manager, who was most helpful. My room on the second floor was very good - spacious, lots of storage and a well equipped bathroom. The view from the window was very relaxing - fields, sheep and cows.... More
