Hambleton really should be 2 or 3 Michelin stars. The food is exquisite. Everything else about the hotel reaches the same exemplary standards. Hambleton is off the beaten track so most guests are the previously converted who make this a pilgrimage to the temple of Hospitality!

Stayed for one night. It is like a country house with rooms rather than a hotel. Felt so homely. The room was so quaint but just beautiful with lovely touches like homemade cookies. The bathroom was a great size and clean. The staff are so welcoming and kind. It is like staying in their home. We sat in the small...

Warmly welcomed on arrival. Rather early for lunch so asked about the best way to access the gardens. Taken and shown the route through the lounge window. One look at my shoes and the member of staff told me I could borrow wellies from the front door area. Perfect! Gorgeous view across Rutland Water, a wander across the fields and...

Went for lunch - stunning grounds and views over Rutland Water and nice old fashioned country house inside. The canapés and pre lunch drinks were fab and bar service impeccable! The 3 course main lunch was wonderful so far as the food was concerned but the service was lacking! We were given a pre-starter that I still have no idea...

This hotel, though I hate to say it, does need to update a little. For example, I really like a kettle in the room or, as in a London hotel I recently stayed in, coffee and tea delivered to the room free of charge. For Valentine's Day one might expect something special, free drink, even just a red rose. I...

Over the years we have visited Relais and Chateau hotels, and Hambleton Hall lived up to expectations. A half hour journey on a cold snowy day brought us and friends to the warm welcome we received on arrival. Pre luncheon drinks were served in an elegant drawing room with a couple of canapés to whet our taste buds. All courses...

Venue I had always wanted to visit. Booked for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. Couldn't fault - the setting is beautiful with stunning views. The food was delicious, especially the dessert. The staff were excellent. Made to feel special on our special day - personalised anniversary menu and "happy anniversary" piped on the petit fours plate. So glad I chose this...

I spent a night at Hambleton Hall courtesy of a great friend and was blown away for the beautiful setting, gardens and views; even in the foggy English January weather it still impressed. The food was lovely, although I was eating from a set menu as we were a large party. The bed was super king size and the bedroom...

Its the detail which makes this place so fantastic, the moment you pull into the driveway you get the impression its going to be special. The gardens, the entrance, the welcome, the decor, the open fireplaces... and then the breathtaking views!! Excellent menu choices cooked to perfection with very attentive service. Biggest wine selections from around the globe to suit...

Just wonderful. Friendly, efficient, nothing too much trouble with service that is neither subservient nor superior. Very comfortable rooms with all you need, and a bit more - the only thing we missed was a selection of foreign language channels - all spotlessly clean. We had a continental breakfast in our room as we had to leave early (0730 breakfast...
