We didn't stay here but just visited for a Sunday lunch. Although there wasn't anyone else eating, our roast beef and lamb dinners could have been cooked fresh, they were beautiful. The potatoes were crisp and fluffy, the meat was excellent and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The service was very good, very friendly and we will definitely be...

We stayed here for one night on 28th October in a very comfortable, warm and inviting room, with an ample supply of tea and coffee. The comfortable king sized bed had crisp, spotlessly clean bed linen and there was a good supply of fresh towels. We and had a superb dinner in the evening which was absolutely beautiful and there...

We wanted to get away for a couple of days, and as my birthday was coming up my wife booked for us to stay overnight yesterday. We were impressed that, along with the confirmation response, we had an e-mail pointing out that as it was a Sunday the pub finished serving food at 5:00pm, and offering to give us details...

Whilst visiting camber we wanted somewhere that would cater for all of our group together and served a Sunday roast, 15 adults and 3 children. We called late Sunday morning to book a table and the staff were very accommodating with our booking they managed to fit us in for midday. We were approached with friendly staff and was pleased...

We had lunch at this delightful pub. The food was really tasty and very filling. We had the pie of the day. We would definitely return to eat here when we are in the area. Really really good and the staff were very friendly and made you welcome.

Having stayed in many hotels / B & B in Rye with over inflated prices we found ourselves a little Gem at The Bell in Iden. The friendly atmosphere, and the staff were outstanding. Stayed in the Hay room which is large comfy and was perfect for mum dad and our young son. The breakfast was amazing and the food...

We were really pleasantly surprised when we arrived at 'The Bell'. An idyllic and peaceful setting which was so peaceful. Parking available. We were shown straight to our room in a converted outhouse appropriately called the 'Tack Room'. As a horse owner, I was particularly pleased about this and loved the old saddle mounted on the wall. Beautiful room with...

We stayed for the night at this pub and although a very large comfy room the decoration and towels for guests looked very tired. The white towels especially were very grey and badly worn with one hanging on a hook frayed and pulled at the edges looking most unsavoury. The garden is a mess and could be made very nice...

I was in the area for a two day business meeting and wanted to stay somewhere quiet. The Bell at Iden is perfect for this. The Hay room I stayed in is in a small converted barn and it was very nice with a comfortable bed and, if you like this, plenty of pillows ;) Besides the tea/coffee platter there...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This traditional village pub dates back to the 15th century with our snug area dating back to 1107! Legend has it, that the original building was used as accommodation for the monks that built Iden church. We have two delightful letting rooms, separate to the pub. Rooms offer king sized beds and en-suite facilities. Other features include original oak beams within the letting rooms and the main inn. Make yourselves tea and coffee in vintage china in the morning in bed whilst watching television with freeview prior to popping over the the restaurant for a sumptuous hearty breakfast using fresh local produce - continental and full English are offered. We are proud of our home cooked food and offer far more than your usual pub grub. Our food is locally sourced where possible and reflects seasonal changes. We are a perfect dining space for a romantic dinner for two, a family celebration or a private party. ... more   less
