Stayed for a weekend, found the staff attentive and friendly, room tidy and well presented. Good facilities in the room - including fresh milk (hooray!). B&B is situated in a remote location, slept very well. Breakfast was varied for all, very good quality. Overall, I would thank the staff for making every guest feel so welcome. I highly recommend this...

One of the, if not the, best B & B we’ve stayed at. The fixtures & fittings are what you would expect from a quality hotel, but the attention to details adds a little extra, fresh milk , fresh coffee. Highly recommended.

Breakfast was very good and freshly made to...

High quality accommodation with great attention to detail. Superb breakfast with lots of choice. Lovely pub across the road - deserted though (such a shame) The Bull at West Tanfield is a lovely pub - great food & lovely beer garden next to the river

Warm and friendly hosts who went the extra mile to ensure that you had everything you needed. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were well decorated, extremely comfortable and very clean. I will definitely be recommending this wonderful place to my friends and family.

We were 5 friends meeting up halfway and couldn't have picked a better spot. I picked this purely by chance and what a lucky chance it was. Even before we arrived we were welcomed by a quick phone call. The rooms were very well appointed and there were thoughtful additions from fresh milk, water, homemade cookies, chocolates and lovely toiletries....

The accommodation the service and the breakfast excellent. Amy and Jackie are perfect hosts and nothing appears too much trouble. Convenient for touring in North Yorkshire and for evening meals themail Fox and Hounds Carthorpe is the place to go.
