What to like:
Breakfast was very nice and up to the standards of a luxury hotel. Service was excellent, perhaps a notch above the usually expected service. The PR level at this hotel is remarkably friendly and courteous. The garden has some unique and carefully manicured combination of greens (colours and sizes) and zen grated sand and the garden paths are carefully bordered by dried pine needles. I’ve known gardens in five continents, and this is still wonderful and relaxing.

We had dinner once at the hotel and i believe the smoked eel (appetizer) and the Lobster rice were worthy of a Michelin restaurant.

There are no specific luxury clichés, as opposed to many other 5-star hotels. Though luxury is a feeling expressed by the surroundings. The whole hotel breathes an atmosphere of rustic upscale welcoming smile and quietness.
Definitely a place to revisit.

A criticism and some small hassles:
1. Biopools are and cleaned every 4x4 months - minimum 2 complete days (Nov / Mar/ Jul ?). Whenever booking a "Biopool room" guests should be informed it will be impossible to use the balcony and pool on their chosen stay. No one is basking in the sun or swimming while the plants are being cut and some hours later removed. Even less with a scuba-dier scrubbing the bottom of the pool for several hours. We might decide not to book or get a discount. In fact one is paying for a benefit which is entirely taken away and out of reach.
Since we were lucky enough to chose those exact cleaning two days, were were reduced, I and my wife, to keep the curtains closed most of the time.
I suggested at the reception, that this type of work as much as possible should be pushed into the first 2-3 hours of the morning during breakfast time. Even if such a change might imply working an extra week.
2. All the lights in the room should be controlled from the beds.
3. I fail to see the reason why bidets are unavailable – it’s not for lack of space and we have to take a shower each time we use the toilet.
4. The bedside Chinese Ming blue and white table vases hold an unequivocal presence and should be kept for their aesthetic impact but somehow an effort would be appreciated to add up 2-3 small drawers perhaps embedded and half-hidden on the top-sides of the bed

The Sublime Comporta Resort & Spa is undoubtedly a refuge of excellence that perfectly combines the natural beauty of Comporta with exquisite hospitality. This paradise hidden among pines, ravines and white sand beaches offers a luxury experience in harmony with nature.
From the moment of arrival, we are welcomed by a highly professional and attentive team, dedicated to ensuring that each stay is memorable. The elegant and contemporary architecture of the Resort blends subtly with the surrounding landscape, providing an atmosphere of tranquility and privacy. The meticulously decorated villas and suites offer all modern comfort, with details of rustic charm that reflect the authenticity of Comporta.
The restaurant at Sublime Comporta stands out for its seasonal menu, which celebrates the fresh products of the region. The gastronomy here is a true ode to Portuguese flavors, with a sophisticated reinterpretation of traditional cuisine.
The spa is another highlight of this sublime experience. Inspired by nature, it offers a wide range of holistic treatments and relaxing therapies using natural and biological ingredients. The sense of well-being is maximized with the heated pools and relaxation areas, where the silence of nature is the perfect backdrop for total relaxation.
In addition, Sublime Comporta stands out for its sustainability and commitment to the environment, implementing ecological practices and promoting respect for local biodiversity.
In short, Sublime Comporta Resort & Spa is an unparalleled choice for those seeking luxury, tranquility and a genuine connection with nature. A choice destination for those who value the refinement, comfort and authenticity of a five-star service.

Beautifully designed hotel that blends in well to the pine forest. Very quiet and peaceful, far enough from the busy N261 !

Be sure to book a table in advance in Canalha restaurant or you may not get the table & time you prefer. Same at the beach club, both are popular and worthy of their popularity. If you rent E bikes, perhaps have them delivered to the Sublime Beach Club in Carvalhal and use the hotel shuttle to & from instead of the main Hotel to avoid riding on the N 261, its a v fast and single carriageway with many large vehicles passing close by, not for the feint hearted. From the beach club you can pick up trails behind 'Tobias' restaurant through the rice fields, alongside the river Real, which goes on for miles..... well, that's if you like off road trails. The 'Scott' Ebikes from P & C (via the hotel concierge) were ideal and they provide a great service (at a price).

Room was very comfortable, we wanted to take the bed home. Breakfast was a spread to behold.

Outstanding staff. Thank you to Rui (in the bar) for very attentive service and also to Beatrice in the Canalha restaurant for remembering what we preferred, really personalised service, well done.

In the town of Muda and accessed through a gravel road, in the interior, you find a sublime resort-restaurant, truly exclusive. Surrounded by pine trees and in the middle of nature, the establishment welcomes the client in a spacious hall that invites them to enjoy, and in what way, a truly unique level of luxury and rest. The complex is made up of houses typically built under sustainability criteria, comfortable, beautiful, unique, where silence can be heard and nature is the only protagonist. The complex has tennis courts, a magnificent SPA, swimming pool, games area, etc. etc In the reception area, where the café-piano and the restaurant are located, diners can enjoy an unforgettable lunch or dinner. Tourists are picked up and transported within the premises in fully electric golf cars so that everything is accessible and comfortable, especially for older people, especially English and French, who are the main clients. The restaurant, with a level of exclusivity in the same line as hotel establishments, offers different starters, main courses of fish (bream, turbot, lobster, rice...), or meat (different cuts of lamb, beef or black pork ), prepared in a style that reminds me of French food, where sauces play a leading role, sometimes uninteresting. An extensive wine list, either by the bottle or by the glass, especially Portuguese and French champagnes, make up the bulk. of the wines offered, in addition to a wide variety of mixed drinks, of the customer's choice, all served in a unique and unrepeatable cozy atmosphere. The service is very attentive and speaks in Portuguese, French, German, English or Spanish, without any problem. .
The price is high, very high. If for 6 oysters from No. 2 and 2 glasses of French champagne, the order goes up to €78 without taxes, well, the truth is, it is excessive. The rest of the order at that price level, so that a dinner or lunch, in the end, with a small dessert to share, rises to more than €220, without it being a Michelin star establishment, it is, in my opinion, expensive , very expensive. You pay for the exclusivity of the place and the idyllic environment in which SUBLIME COMPORTA COUNTRY is located.

I get what this hotel is trying to do, and it partially succeeds but somehow misses the mark. Comporta is a long drive from Lisbon with limited returns. The town is small, the beach was cold and windy and this hotel was expensive for quite basic rooms in terms of design and amenities. Also, the food is not good. The location is very pretty in a pine forest but there is little to do at the hotel. The spa services were just OK with a quite average massage. My room had a simple white decor though looked on a lovely tranquil forest. When I arrived, there was no water in the room but they quickly fixed the issue. Room service food was also basic but breakfast was decent. The main restaurant for dinner was a travesty. They think it’s gourmet food but it really didn’t taste good and the service was too slow. This experience is just not worth the time or money. I will try another area of Portugal next time.

My favorite hotel in the Alentejo. Though I only had one night here, this hotel remains a highlight of my time in Portugal. From the moment the gates opened onto the shaded drive, I felt like I was being ushered into something special, something unique: a secret oasis. The buildings are nestled into the beautiful landscaping making the whole place feel like it has been there for as long as the Cork trees. Every single thing felt like it was in harmony with its setting. In my travels, a wonderful bed, gorgeous amenities and delicious food can be found at most five star hotels but for me, what made Sublime truly sublime was the staff. From the porters to the sommelier, everyone I encountered wore a smile and went out of their way to be helpful and accomodating. At check out, the attendant noticed my water was almost empty and gave me two boxed waters for the road. There was ample decaf nespresso pods in my room, per my request. I can't wait to visit again. Sheer heaven.

We stayed in a guest suite which was lovely & quiet. 2 levels; bedroom & toilet & couch on first floor & shower & a 2nd toilet on second floor. Very comfortable bed & spacious rooms. Grounds are lovely for walks. Pool area is nice but flies can be an issue. Chaises very comfortable. Breakfast buffet is outstanding. Service for the most part was good. We did have an unfortunate experience one night at dinner where they served our appetizer to another table & we waited over an hour for it. Then waited again for entrees. The food was excellent when it finally arrived but not worth the very long wait. Manager tried to help & did take off entrees from bill & sent us cheese & wine to our room the next day. So that was a lovely gesture. We took a complimentary stretch class which was good. I do think the yoga classes should also be complimentary (35 euros per person per class is pricey). I enjoyed practicing on my own in the studio which was kept opened . All in all a lovely experience with a few hiccups. Their beachfront restaurant is very good w/ fast service & good food with water views; go at sunset. They have a complimentary shuttle. Tip: book spa services before you arrive.

A beautiful hotel with really lovely, friendly staff. Great food and wine. 10 minutes drive from a beach with white sand and clear (though chilly!) water. Sublime Comporta's beach restaurant is a great setting for a long lunch too.

The 'Guest Suites' lack privacy between the main space and the toilet. The toilet on the mezzanine level had a thin curtain separating it from downstairs. There was a separate toilet on the main level, but this had a door made of twigs so privacy was an issue. All the rooms are spread around the huge property with a central hub that contains reception, a bar and the restaurant.

Lovely hotel, great Cabana Rooms, soothing deco, comfy beds, and all amenities needed. Only weird thing is a metal door stopper right in the middle of the path between the bed and the bathroom so beware of your toes :))) Not sure it’s case in all rooms.
It is a beautiful property with great breakfasts and service at breakfast. Snack dinners are nice in bar area and the main restaurant has a good menu. Didn’t try the lunch restaurant.
However the service lacks attention in all exterior areas whether outside terrace or pool areas. The pool area needs attention in terms of getting beach towels and drinks during day - you always have to go into main restaurant to ask for something.
Also beware to book any Spa needs before you arrive, we were there for 4 days and there was not a treatment slot to be had, except for at 19.30 (one) one evening which is not ideal. The hotel wasn’t full, and it’s not highest season - so i guess they must not have had enough therapists on call…? But the hotel doesn’t forewarn you to book ahead before you arrive, so I kind of assumed there would be spaces.
Their beach club restaurant in Carvahal (10 mins car away) is beautiful right on the great long beach with good food and great team, but there is not a spot of shade on the beach so bring umbrellas.
There are not a lot of activities on offer in the area, but you can surf, fatbike or just wander around on the beach. Melides is quite small and uneventful and further south Sines and that is pointless. Comporta is small and cute, you can take ferry over to a Park from Troia, otherwise it’s fairly calm. Soothing pine tree, sandy relaxation for a couple of days!

An experience that could be perfect, marred by the following aspects:
1 - Summer Party: I'm not sure how the capacity was calculated (or if it was), but the fact is that we couldn't find a table to sit down and eat. However, there were two huge tables marked reserved and no one at them (it should be noted that the option to reserve a table was never presented to us, so I wonder how and how such a reservation was made).

2 - Although, I remember, we were in Portugal, many employees didn't speak the slightest bit of Portuguese. Despite recognizing that there were more foreigners than Portuguese, it is extremely uncomfortable - and clearly unworthy of a hotel where I paid more than EUR 1000 per night - to have a person directing the breakfast table who does not know how to do it in Portuguese.
I am extremely in favor of welcoming everyone who chooses Portugal to live, but I do not consider it acceptable to have people working in hotels who cannot do their job in the country's native language (my criticism has nothing to do with the specific people - extremely friendly - but with the hotel management who clearly treated me like a second-class guest.

There were lots of families there and the hotel was great for little kids as it has a full playroom. For your age kids it's just that there isn't much to do other than going to the pool or driving to the beach.
