Often eat here with friends about once every two months, so we know how delicious and special the food and service is. My boyfriend decided that he'd like to have Sunday lunch here. It was 2.10, I rang & they said they could fit us in so long as we arrived before 2.30. They were accommodating from the start! Menu...

Went as a couple - special occasion and it was flat out exceptional. Thursday night and it was all but full in the restaurant. Service was quick, assured but not overbearing. Had 3 courses and each were superb. Going to Powys - go, its a bit special!

This started out as a pleasant evening for my boyfriend's birthday, we arrived to a very cosy pub and had a drink to start. We were shown to our table and ordered food. My boyfriend had a starter and venison steak main, I had the 3 course set menu - my main meal was the beetroot risotto. Staff were friendly...

I'm really sorry to read your comments. Our policy on service charges or tips is becoming unusual in the industry in that we don't add them to bills as fixed amounts or as what many places call "discretionary" service charges. I hope that provides some indication of our approach to tips which we genuinely believe should be entirely at the...

I haven't left many reviews before, but really thought I'd share my experience. I visited on a day out and was pleasantly surprised by the comfy and warm sofa area in the front, drinks were nice and cold and the atmosphere was very welcoming. However on ordering food, was very disappointed as I've heard good feedback before. I had the...

As it is featured in the Good Hotel Guide, the Good Food Guide and the Good Pub Guide, we had high expectations. To be fair to the owners, their website does describe it as a dining pub with rooms, which is all it is. The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful and the chef is very competent, although...

Hi we recently stayed over for a winter break which included 3 course supper , 1 nights stay and breakfast.. We've eaten and stayed before and I have to say it was excellent.. We stayed in room 1 with the four poster bed which sounds luxurious but it wasn't the best to be honest! The building is old so very...

We stayed for a couple of nights in November to celebrate an anniversary. Completing the picture of the gurnards head, the old coastguard, the felin fach had a lot to live up to. Accompanied by cheffie friends we had great expectations and it totally lived up to it in the food and beverage department. My dog was also catered for...

Whether you go for a light lunch, full dinner or a weekend escape you will not be disappointed. The constantly changing and innovative menu never disappoints and the wine list is challenging and inventive. Go once and you will be wowed. I was.

We stayed in Room 7 on a wet and windy Friday evening, to celebrate an anniversary. The room was lovely with a huge bed, homely furniture and a spacious warm bathroom. Our dog was very happy to find a bowl of water waiting for him in the bathroom and on the bed were doggy towels and treats. We had our...
