We knew we would eat well as we'd had lunch here a couple of times in the past but the food surpassed our expectations. The menu was interesting and varied which made choosing difficult. My venison was superb as was the pork my other half chose. Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavour. It was a treat to be... More

We have tried on a number of occasions to have lunch at the Griffin but had been unsuccessful. To remedy this situation we booked a room and recently spent a Friday night here and ate in the restaurant. Arriving early evening we entered the pub and were efficiently shown up to our lovely double room which was clean, well presented... More

Turned up for sunday lunch which was amazing, had a lazy afternoon on the sofas in front of the open fire, due to the weather, early drinks and an equally amazing evening meal, spent an enjoyable evening with some of the locals. Weather still horrid on the Monday so abandoned our walk and headed to Hay on Wye, returned to... More

Having had lunch at The Felin Fach Griffin on many occasions and always wanted to stay over to fully enjoy the experience, we finally managed to stay one night on the eat, drink, sleep package with friends. We arrived at lunchtime and had a relaxing great quality meal before checking into our room. One afternoon snooze later we were back... More

We had dinner here with friends in early November- we wanted to stay but it was full! Positives - Superb food in a relaxed informal setting - definitely more top end restaurant than country pub in terms of quality and presentation - Very well trained and efficient staff - Dog friendly tables in the bar area Downsides: - This seems... We could only get a one night booking here- one of their Sunday specials. It wasn't enough as it was so lovely we were reluctant to leave. Arrived after a day's walking on a damp day to a log fire, piles of Sunday papers and glossy magazines and a welcome cup of tea - closely followed by a glass of... More

We'd been on a very strenuous walk and when I walked into the Griffin's cosy lounge, I nearly cried! Log fire, comfy sofas, friendly staff and guests, it was fab. The food was Michelin star standard, the beds are comfy, they welcome dogs and there are lovely touches, for example, if your water isn't hot enough (it's an old building)... More

Great weekend away with quality service and food. Our room wasn't huge but it had everything in it we wanted. Best of all, no TV or wi-fi connection!! It added to a feeling of tranquility and peace. Loved it.... A complementary glass of champagne served up to our table of four after staff heard it was a birthday celebration made... More

This was our second stay at The Felin Fach and we were not disappointed. The standard of accommodation and quality of food, drink and service is spot on. Our dog was also well catered for, it's certainly his favourite holiday spot! We will definitely return!

We stayed at the Griffin for four night in September with our two dogs. The atmosphere is very much that of a relaxed village pub but kicker is it has a great restaurant. The meals were of a consistently high standard and although busy whilst we were there the service was friendly and efficient. Our dogs were catered for exceptionally... More
