A difficult one to rate because of it's uniqueness so we are going down the middle.A great place for rail enthusiasts as it is adjacent to the main East coast rail line.As such there are trains day and night thundering by which makes sleep difficult. Also as accomadation is in a converted rail carriage space is at a premium. Eating in...

The food is not the best around, although the pizzas are really good, but the service is very friendly and we are always entertained by the trains whizzing past, plus you get to sit in a railway carriage and eat.

Stayed here after a friends recommendation, so glad we did. Some of the rooms are small but they are converted railway carriages. They are warm and cosy. Great for train lovers, but great for something different. Lovely bar area and open fire, I imagine in the summer it's lovely to sit outside in the garden area. Really warm welcome from...

This hotel offers a railway enthusiast the opportunity to hark back to the halcyon days of sleepers and dining cars. The converted coaches offer a higher quality of "sleeper" than BR ever offered, but with the sounds and sensations of the real thing. Dinner is served in a dining car, redolent of the LNER restaurant cars, with excellent food and...

Our room was in a converted railway carriage.... really quirky, and cosy. In the evening we had drinks in the main bar which was lovely by the fire and our evening meal again in the converted railway carriage was beautiful. Would definitely go back

We are a family of four and had a lovely one night stay, it was a DBB wowcher deal and fab value, bedrooms are converted train carriages and they are in process of refurbishing the rooms. The staff were very welcoming, roaring fire and candles made for a lovely ambience. Dinner was great, slept well in comfy clean beds and...

I booked this as a treat for my husband, we both love trains so I thought it would be cute to stay on one. The hotel is so unusual, the bedrooms are converted from old fashioned carriages, we had room 2, which was spacious, only slight problem was trying to go to the loo in the night, as I had...
